When I shared this with Chun Kit Chan while I was still in terrible pain, he told me it was "all in my head" and recommended that I only need Tylenol. The next day, I ended up in the ER needing emergency gallbladder removal. The ER doctor said this should have been addressed much earlier. After surgery, when I could barely walk, I needed a referral for a GI specialist. His staff member, Susan, insisted I come into the office even though my insurance confirmed it wasn't required. The doctor even said it was "not a big deal" to lose a gallbladder. Two months later, I was hospitalized again due to leftover gallstones. The hospital told me they contacted Chun Kit's office for a referral, but his staff claimed I hadn't been seen in over a year, which was completely untrue. In my experience, this doctor delayed my care, dismissed my symptoms, and contributed to unnecessary complications.

My parents had been going to him for as long as I can remember. My sister switched to him and I started using him as my PC ever since my pediatrician abandoned me lol. It took a lot of convincing before we were able to switch my grandmother over to him too and it was so worth it. (Her previous PC was located above Kam Man and it was terrible. The wait was 5x as long and they are anything but detailed.) I really appreciate all the work he does for my family, especially my mom, who needs extra care. Although I do not visit the doctors office often, I feel like I get premium care when I am there. Just taking my knee pains for example, when I had visited another doctor's office for convenience sake (they also had no wait time. It was 5 minutes wait max), they just told me they did not feel like anything was wrong and to just give it some time. When I went to Dr. Lau, he went into detail telling me what might be causing the pain, how my recent lifestyle changes could have impacted it and what I should do to ease the pain, even telling me how to look for the appropriate shoes. I believe that his medical information are sincere and not for the sake of selling the drug. The consultation fees are reasonable and he would not overcharge for his services. During the times when I have to pay out of my pocket, he provides discounts (upon request) and drug samples to help me out. Although it didn't make a big difference, I feel appreciated because the price reduction is only given out to his long-term valuable clients. I like his new office (less than 2 blocks radius) because it is much cleaner and roomier as compared to his old location. The staffs are always nice and cheerful. Unlike other clinics, their customer service team is polite and helpful regardless in-person or by-phone. I notice that they are really trying to assist instead of directing the inquiry to other parties and diffusing their responsibilities. One thing I do not enjoy is the waiting time. I always arrive there prior to my appointment and yet, I have to wait for at least another half hour for my turn. Why are they letting the walk-in patients (who arrived 5 minutes before me) to be seen first? What is the point of scheduling an appointment then? I understand the fact that Dr Lau has a huge list of clients but I have to say that such action is unfair and he needs to improve on his (appointment) time management. I have seen Dr Lau for almost 12 years up to date. Overall, I am pleased with his service throughout the years. I trust Dr Lau and I would highly recommend Dr Lau to anyone!

Well first of all, he listens and is actively interested in trying to figure out what happened and how we can find a solution. While sitting in the examination room, Dr. Peng would absorb everything I said, then ask me detailed follow-up questions. He would think out loud about possible causes of whatever issue I was complaining about, and you could see the wheels in his head turning as he went through one possibility after another. It was like watching a detective work. Throughout the process, he encouraged my input ("Do you think it could be related to ______?"). After we discussed all the possible scenarios, Dr. Peng would make a treatment plan and then we'd set up a follow-up appointment. Every time I saw him it was the same process: He would listen to my updates, then we'd make a new plan based on what worked and what didn't. In the end, we successfully figured out a solution to my problem. Overall, I found Dr. Peng warm, friendly, and intensely caring. Dr. Wong is an amazing and attentive doctor with a kind, caring demeanor and excellent bedside…read moremanner. I came to him with some foot pain that I have been dealing with for 2-3 years. I have something called PTTD (posterior tibialis tendonitis disorder) which is basically a tearing/weakening of the tendon on the inner part of my foot/ankle. Another podiatrist I was seeing prescribed me orthotics and physical therapy. Did both, but my symptoms and pain weren't changing (and on some days, even got worse). I did something called PRP injection which didn't have any effect. I also got an MRI which confirmed what we knew - tendon tearing in the area I was describing. The pain continued and I was ready to throw in the towel and started looking into invasive flat foot reconstruction surgery which I didn't want to do given the post-surgery downtime (also the cost!) When I first visited Dr. Wong, I explained my issue, the things I already tried, and how I've had flat feet and a certain 'duck footed' gait all my life. He took time to understand my issue and where the pain was and asked relevant questions to figure out the root cause - which is so important for a foot doctor to do. He explained that the foot is interconnected with other body systems and my issue was likely stemming from somewhere else - tight calves/hamstrings and poor walking mechanics. Instead of only focusing on the foot, he explained how my walking was affecting my hips, knees, back, and eventually, the foot. He was able to tell all this from some subtle but important clues - shoe wear patterns, where callouses were forming on my feet, and testing my ankle mobility to tell that my calves/legs were tight. This led me down the rabbit hole of internet research which supported his conclusion that my foot problems were caused by something bigger up the chain. He helped me to develop a plan to fix my leg and gait issues which will lessen the harmful forces on my feet and recommended an even stronger orthotic than the one I had to help with the pain and pressure on that inner tendon. It will take months for me to change the way I've been walking for 36 years but I already see the improvement and progress. I wish I visited Dr. Wong years ago for this, but I feel like I am on a better path to recovery. I'm looking forward to updating him on my progress and referring all my friends and family to him.
