If she moves even slightly after waking up, burning shoots down her thighs. The only way the surgeons told her she'll recover is walking around and physical therapy, but the pain is so great that if she stands up or even lies in most positions, it feels like fire through her legs. It's like this for most of the day - only during the evening does it let up briefly. Every day she screams in agony and cries out "oh God help me!" Her psychopharmacologist cleared her for opioid use to manage the pain so she can walk around and rebuild her muscles because nothing else she's been prescribed so far has worked. Her pain is so great that she's essentially bed-bound all day except for a couple of hours at night. We took my mom to Dr. Hanono on Wednesday and she told him what she's going through. Dr. Hanono treated her like she had no idea what she was talking about. He told her there was no medical reason to help her, that she was exaggerating her pain, and that she should just buck up and power through it. He wasted our time, and my mother's condition is worsening every day. This was absolutely the worst experience anyone in my family has ever had in visiting a doctor.

I read reviews putting them down - but I beg to say, the person writing such a review, doesn't quite have an understanding of what to expect from an office staff in such a delicate yet fast-moving environment, attending to phones, patients, and any requests of the doctor... Deceptive Billing, Unnecessary Blood Tests, and Public Humiliation…read more I scheduled my appointment through the clinic's website, which clearly stated the $300 fee included both the medical exam and completion of Form I-693. When I arrived, the receptionist confirmed this. Even the doctor told me--without me even asking--that the $300 covered both the appointment and the documentation. He said a blood test might be an additional charge and necessary to complete my I-693 which I agreed. I had already provided proof of all required vaccinations, and blood test that I got in another clinic and my insurance paid for it, so there was no medical reason to run any tests. Still, they mentioned one specific blood test, but then performed a different one that I did not need. When I returned to receive my results, I was suddenly told I had to pay another $300 to complete the documentation(form I-693) completely contradicting what both the website and staff had previously confirmed. When I questioned it, the receptionist began yelling at me in front of the entire waiting room and refused to finalize my paperwork unless I paid again. It was deeply unprofessional and humiliating. After leaving, I called the clinic to clarify. They told me the website was "wrong," and that the true cost was $300 for the exam and another $300 for the form (I-693) something never disclosed at any point. I requested a detailed, itemized bill showing the charges for both the appointment and filling the form but they refused. All they offered was a basic credit card receipt. When I finally received a billing summary, through email they cc two more people who could see all my bill and personal information, however they didn't disclose the charges and instead just sent me a total of due without specific information, so i had to request a disclosed bill and when I got it,they were charging me for hepatitis b, varicella and MMR titer and i had the vaccines for all these (I gave them my vaccine record including vaccines for these diseases so not blood test was necessary) This clinic is dishonest, lacks transparency, and operates unethically. They performed unnecessary medical procedures, changed prices after the fact, refused to provide proper billing, and publicly humiliated me. I strongly urge others to avoid this place at all costs

This medical office can be hazardous to your health!…read more I chose this office for a general check-up as I had not gone for one for several years. It was nearby, and the picutures of the office looked decent. I was able to make an appointment the next day, which was convenient. But, that is where the positives end. To start my exam, I saw a very nice young woman, but she was not a doctor. She was a PA. Spoke to me about my medical history, etc. I told her I was having an issue with my foot. A few days before, I went to a podiatrist (at a different location/office) and was told that I had injured my foot. I showed the PA my foot, and she said it looked normal (when it is more swollen than my other foot). So, who do I believe? The PA at Dr. Yuryev, or the podiatrist I had seen the week before? Well, the podiatrist ordered an MRI. I went for the MRI, and I have six stress fractures in my right foot. So much for the PA at this office for spotting an issue. Which, of course, they didn't. Then a blood test was taken. I received a call the next day from Dr. Yuryev's office to inform me that they have the results and that someone will call me to discuss. I then got a call from another PA at Dr. Yuryev to discuss the blood test result. First, he went over the good points. Then he went into the bad. I was told that I am anemic, with hemoglobin, hematocrit and RBC all below reference range. The PA told me that in addition to being anemic, I probably have a slow bleed inside of me, probably a tumor in my colon, and that I may have colon cancer. Well, when I heard that, I of course was quite upset. What is strange is that I have no pain and when I looked up the symptoms of colon cancer, I have none of it. I'm not tired all of the time, so I don't know how I could possibly have anemia. I was then told to see a gastroenterologist for a colonoscopy. I was given a reference to one from their office. Called the reference. An appointment was a month away and it was only a 10-minute video visit. That really isn't good enough. I found out on my own that I should have the blood test retaken and get a ferratin (Iron) blood test. So, what did I do? I went and found a really great gastroentrologist in Manhattan. Quickly got an appointment. Met with a real doctor this time. I showed him the blood test result. He said I shouldn't be too worried over it. He retook the blood test. And did a ferratin test. The result? Everything was in range! What a relief. The ferratin test showed everything with my iron levels was normal. Didn't look like I was anemic. While I was at the gastroenterologist, he set up a colonoscopy. I had that procedure done. The result? All NEGATIVE! No polyps, no tumors, no bleeding, nothing. I am NOT bleeding inside my colon, as I was told I probably was by the PA from Dr. Yuryev's office. I went into Dr. Yuryev's office feeling fine, and left being sick from what I was told. Thankfully it all worked out fine for me in the end, but the experience from Dr. Yuryev's office really scared me and worried me to no end for a couple of months until I knew the real results. What a lousy experience. PAs really aren't good enough. You need to see a doctor. With New York State now allowing PAs to administer your health care instead of a real doctor, more stories like mine may emerge. Moral of the story? Don't go to a doctor in Brooklyn. Always go to one in Manhattan if you can. There IS a difference!

Not only did he have absolutely no memory of who I was - could have at least read my chart to see why I was there - but he questioned me about a medication I've been on for YEARS and that I should consider getting off of and, catch this, SMOKE Ayahuasca instead! Not just smoke, but do so on the ROOFTOP OF THE OFFICE AFTER HOURS with HIM and a 'small group of others' who meet up weekly. Are you serious? While I didn't feel Dr. Joudeh was coming onto me in a sexual way, what medical professional offers this as an option to any patient at a routine physical exam? Listen, I'm not an expert, but I sure as heck know that smoking 'Ayahuasca' isn't possible and that lacing something with synthetic DMT probably isn't a solid alternative. Also, the staff has really gone downhill. No one calls anymore to refill my script, give blood work details or test results. Every time my script is refilled it's always the wrong medicine - EVERY TIME. I have to call and change it. They charge my insurance for services I've never had. I have notified my insurance company as it feels like fraud. Testing my blood for HIV and STDs yearly is also something I ASKED them them NOT to do, but of course, every time, they do it. They told me its required by NYS - its not. Technically, I am supposed to sign off and STD and HIV testing as these are additional, elective services that are NOT required during a routine physical exam. Also, I have a gyno that handles any sex-life issues, tests, and questions. My personal information isn't just YOURS TO TAKE because I'm having my blood drawn. I'm still IN CHARGE of what tests I want performed, or so I thought. I was basically lied to. Second, things are not nearly as clean as they used be. I was nervous about having my blood drawn. There were three other nurses in the tiny room at the same time, all chatting and busy, while one just kinda took out a needle and wanted to get started. No masks, no gloves (which was the worst offense). I literally had to ask the nurse to 'please focus' as I want to make sure you have your shit together before you start putting needles in my arm. My uncle passed away from staff infection he obtained during a routine blood test - I was nervous. Nothing about this office is worth returning too. They used to be the BEST. Sad. I've been going to their Lexington Ave. location for close to 3 months already…read more While Dr. Iannicello is pretty good, his staff isn't and patients end up paying for this while we're in PAIN. Their insurance/billing department isn't the best. Some procedures require approval from your insurance which is understandable. The problem is that they'll tell you they'll call you once insurance approves so we can proceed and they never call you back. You would give them enough time to then call them and either things have already been approved or, they have not started the process. The receptionist lady is passive aggressive when asked certain questions regarding this. I get it, she's probably tired of this but also, it's not the patient's fault either. We're here in PAIN and it seems like they let work sit and wait for the patient to call so they could move on it. Everywhere else I go, they'll contact my insurance for approval and turnaround is usually about 2 days max but here, about a week, two weeks and ever longer. At one of my visits the lady receptionist didn't check me in till 45 minutes after my arrival and good thing the doctor noticed and was on it. Yesterday morning I called them because again, waiting for insurance to approve pain injections. The receptionist was passive aggressive and sighing as if this was my fault and said she'll speak to the doctor about it and hung up on me after. I had told her I would like to get this done by this week since I will have another insurance and that probably won't kick in till a couple of weeks or who knows how long and here I am IN PAIN because the meds given to me or PT hasn't been making any improvements with my issue. I also remember several times patients calling them saying they never received a callback from them regarding anything the office had to reach out to them. Receptionist would claim they did call but it's interesting the pattern of several people saying the same thing which makes me believe the patients and plus, here I am finding myself being on top of them as if I work there. I have not received any calls from the office and at this point I don't even feel like calling them and dealing with the receptionist while am in PAIN so decided to write this review so others could be aware of things that may happen when visiting this place. UPDATE: 2 days after leaving my review. I have not received a call from anyone at this office. I decided to call my insurance and they told me they just received the request from them today and they approved it right away for me to get my injection shots for my PAIN. I called their office and told them I have not heard back from them and the receptionist placed me on hold and came back asking me what time tomorrow I would like to go it. My theory was right all along about this place. The leave the patient's information just laying on their desk and do nothing about it unless you call in and they'll blame insurance or anyone else to cover up their actions. Thankfully because I was on top of them, I'll be able to get my shots before my current insurance ends. To say the least, this shows lack of consideration and is also HORRIBLE on their part given the circumstances patient's are enduring and the trust they give them.
