A caring, professional and extremely knowledgeable chiropractor in the SFV. If you are looking for a good chiropractor then look no further! After 3 months of pure agony, endless doctor visits and a cortisone injection at UCLA into my husbands herniated discs (S1 being the worst of 3 bulging discs in his lower lumbar), my dear friend, a retired chiropractor in Florida, suggested seeing a good chiropractor in LA. With that said, I jumped on it because that's what this girl does. Once I got the list from our insurance, Blue Shield of CA, I immediately hit my "Yelp" app and boom! 2 of the chiropractors on my list were here with epic reviews. After reading that a patient of Dr. Allegro's suffered from a similar issue, I picked up the phone and made an appointment for my hubby. At his first visit, the Dr. spent ample time explaining what was really going on with his back and told him that it might take several sessions before he noticed a difference. Well, after 1 session he felt a little better. Each additional visit my husband has felt better and manages to stand for longer periods of time. He can now sit properly without immediate discomfort. *Plenty of street parking - read all posted signs *Accepts most insurance - call to confirm *Reasonable fee if you don't have insurance *Extremely knowledgeable about the spine read more

One of the best chiropractic experience I have ever had. Dr Allegro was able to adjust my back and my neck better than my previous doctors.

I can't say enough about how good Dr. Allegro is. I first started going to him five years ago when I was experiencing severe sciatica during my pregnancy. He took me from barely being able to walk to having no pain at all. It honestly felt like a miracle. But the best part is that Dr. Allegro is not there to make you dependent on him, he's truly Invested in helping to heal you so that you don't need him anymore. I've gone to him for joint pain too, and same thing, he's enabled me to move better in my general life. 5 stars for sure. He's a good doctor and a good person. The office is clean, and private. He also has this awesome stretching table thing that I wish I had in my own house. :) read more

The reviews of Dr. Allegro are all on point. He is so much more than a chiropractor-- he is a wealth of information. Having come from a doctor who was very unprofessional, it was refreshing to meet Dr. Allegro. He is kind and thoughtful and always professional. There is lots of street parking available around and the office is very easy to find. I have healed so much since seeing him! read more

Dr. Allegro is simply the best in his field. I rarely have to see him anymore because he is very good at helping you heal as opposed to wanting you to be dependent on him. He gave me exercises to do at home and other recommendations to help heal my injury. I trust him and highly recommend him if you are in pain and want to feel better. read more

I believe in Chiropractic care as 15 years ago I experience tremendous relief at the hands of a Chiropractor. However, my experience with Dr. Allegro left me frustrated and in MORE pain. My first complaint was seemingly never ending conversations about how insurance providers pit patients against practitioners and while I agree I explained I'm in fact knowledgeable about insurance and more specifically my health benefits. I informed the office to contact my health plan administrator for accurate benefit information. They did not listen and I had to call 3xs and listen for 3 appointments about how my cost was up in the air as they tried to get me to sign additional paperwork. I owed a co-pay and they receive a contracted amount so I did not sign papers for additional charges. However, it gets much worse... I came with x-rays that essentially show my former problems (neck, lower and mid back) were out of whack. I was only experiencing minor neck pain but you could see the s-curve in my neck is gone. I wanted a tune-up but wasn't in major pain. The adjustment felt fine. However, my 30 year old knee injury (I forget exists and am very active) flared up as I literally walked out the door and I hobbled to my car (oh yeah it's street parking only which is awful when you're in pain). I've read this can happen so I iced/took ibuprofen and waited for my next appointment. Well Dr. Allegro ignored the x-rays until I confronted him, claimed to be clueless as to how my knee was in pain and suggested I see an Orthopedist - though I didn't injure it and it's been x-rayed and I don't need surgery. Three weeks after meeting Dr Allegro and I'm in WAY MORE PAIN THAN WHEN I WALKED THROUGH HIS DOOR. Additionally, he's got an injury and it appears relies on a reticulated table for some adjustments. I'm frustrated I paid to feel worse. read more

Everyone in our family has seen Dr Allegro for any back pains, sport injuries, lumbagos. He is more than a Chiropractor and true Osteopath having an acute understanding of the body an being able to technically fix it. We have been seeing doctor Allegro since 2016 at least. The relief after one session is almost immediate and future adjustments longer benefits. He is hands down the best chiropractor we have known - He can support both kids and adults based on kinesiology approach. read more

Dr. Allegro is a master chiropractor and educator. I have experienced great relief from pain with Dr. Allegro's adjustments in less than 24 hours between my first treatment and my followup treatment. This guy is LEGIT! Over the weekend, I seriously hurt my back to the point that it was extremely painful to rise out of a chair or out of my bed. I mean, at times just breathing or shifting my body weight from one leg to another would cause unbelievable pain. And it's embarrassing to admit that the way I hurt it was simply by bending over to give my cat a bowl of food. It had been injured before, many years ago, in a car accident and through the years I had a couple of flareups but nothing like this before. It's hard to believe that the simple act of feeding my cat triggered such an intensely excruciating response. I needed relief! It turns out that with my PPO, my insurance covers 21 chiropractic treatments with providers "in-network". Even though I wanted to see my preferred chiropractor -- whom I've worked with for over two decades -- he wasn't in-network. My insurance reduces chiropractic coverage benefits so much if I went out of network, it just made sense to try someone new so I chose Dr. Allegro. I mean, I was in so much pain I wanted to ensure that I got the maximum 21 treatments because I thought I was going to need all them. But after only 2 treatments I think I'm gonna be OK. That said I will continue to work with him until I'm 100% pain-free which, based on these two treatments, will be quick! Dr. Allegro explains what's going on with your posture and body as he treats you and I got immediate results! He's also friendly, kind and accommodating. A true healer! I'm so happy he's now my new chiropractor and I highly recommend him! read more

Dr Allegro hits the spot. I came back from a long trip with my back in bad shape. Dr Allegro immediately relieved the sharp pain after the first session. Suggested (without forcing) a few ore sessions which helped a lot for a more permanent healing and left me a few great advises on how to keep my back in shape. Always pleasant, on time, available for any questions. Could not recommend him more. read more

I had a disc issue in my low back. Richard returned me back to life and this is the one who instead of talking do things you come for. If you don't want to waste your money and time don't go anywhere and just call him. He is the best of the best!!! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Allegro on and off for many years. I have a congenital lower back condition that flairs up from time to time. I have seen many different chiropractors over the years and Dr. Allegro is among the best. He practices a diagnostic technique called kinesiology that tests the bio-mechanics of the body. By looking at how muscles react to resistance he can quickly surmise issues of weakness and focus on the source of pain. I always leave walking a little straighter and feeling better than before I arrived. Dr. Allegro is a one-man-band, answering the phone and making all the appointments in his small office in an unassuming building on Moorpark near Colfax. Don't be put off, he gets the job done with his light and confident touch in a clean and calming environment. read more

Dr. Allegro is seriously THE BEST chiropractor in all of LA, maybe even the world! He practiced in Italy for many years, which gives him an edge over your run of the mill chiropractic professional. With his state of the art techniques and personable bedside manner, Dr. Richard Allegro is all Aces in my book. Scheduling is a breeze since he is super flexible and accommodating to most anyone's schedule. His location is intimate and the relaxed atmosphere has your muscles melting before the session even begins. If you haven't booked with him yet, you just don't know what you're missing!! Keep doing what you do, Dr. Allegro!!! LA needs more healthcare providers like you. read more

Miracle worker right here. I had never been to a chiropractor before and Dr. Allegro talked everything through before doing it so I would be more comfortable. Every movement done released some sort of pressure and could see improvement within the week. He's a funny, caring, knowledgeable doctor and I'm glad to make him my regular chiro. read more

Doctor Allegro is a GREAT chiropractor. Between is technique, humor and positive demeanor and can't imagine a better chiropractic experience. I feel 4 inches taller for days after leaving his office. Highly recommend. read more

I was in a car accident and had horrific whiplash. Since it was a worker's comp case, every time I went to the clinic, they would load me up with medication. Nothing was working and I was in constant pain and having black out headaches. I stumbled upon Richard Allegro and couldn't believe how much better I felt after just one visit. I stopped taking all of the medication and even asked my company to extend the number of visits for regular adjustments. He was simply fantastic and helped more than any other treatment I was given. read more

Dr Allegro is the best chiropractic doctor I have ever been to. I drive 45 minutes to see him, I've tried to find a doctor closer to home but no one comes close to the care I get at his offices. I highly recommend him! read more

I have had trouble with my back in the past. It went out on a couple of occasions, leaving me bedridden for a week or so which was hard to accept accept as I am only 47 years old! I started daily exercises a couple of years back which helped but last fall my back went out again. I saw Dr. Allegro last week who was amazing! He asked a few questions and determined that, based on my answers, it could not have been a disk that went out. With a few select tests on my legs, he was able to pinpoint the weak points in my lower back and gave me an adjustment and exercises to strengthen certain parts of my body. It was funny - the next day I felt tender in the exact spot on my back where the spasms used to start. He had never even touched that spot! This chiropractor has so much experience (about 25 years!), it is unbelievable how easy and quick he was able to get me on the path to a stable back! Highly recommended! read more

Dr. Richard Allegro is, to my way of thinking, the most accomplished chiropractor that I've seen in L.A., and certainly the most suited to my sensibilities. I've seen several chiropractors in L.A. and have either been hurt by them or simply disappointed in them. Dr. Allegro listens to your problems and addresses them with care and thoroughness. His treatments are gentle enough to put you at ease, and when needed, firm enough to take care of the adjustment. I heartily recommend Dr. Allegro to anyone needing care. It also doesn't hurt that he's a damned nice guy! read more
