Not only about the law, but the psychology and logistics of it all. He's thorough. The measure of a good attorney is how well they handle the details. He's on the ball with the minutia. He's straightforward. He'll give you an honest assessment of your case and the potential pitfalls. There really is no sales pitch. If you have a more complicated or marginal disability case, you would be crazy not to have a consultation with him. He doesn't take every case, but he'll give you some straight-up feedback on the potential of your case for success.

After my case was approved, it was then subsequently denied by the appeals committee. Mr. LaPorte once again helped me with the appeals process, providing me with full support. After a very lengthy period, I was finally approved & it would not have been possible without Mr. LaPorte's expertise. Anytime I had any concerns/questions, making an appointment was always very easy. He explains everything thoroughly & doesn't rush you. And I can't end this raving review without giving Sylvia a huge shoutout. Even on her lunch break (which I have been guilty of interrupting on more than one occasion) she will answer the phone & tell you she'll call you right back after she's done. And she really does! And her email response time is lightning fast. The whole team at LaPorte Law Firm are the BEST!!! I cannot thank them enough!

Since my mother has become disabled, I needed to help her get Social Security Disability Benefits…read more I thought this was going to be a straight forward process but I should have known better. Trying to understanding the rules, proper procedures, and sorting through all the paperwork (integrating this with the medical aspect) made it seemingly imperative to hire an attorney who knew how to navigate through the undulating process. We hired Mr. Clark, referred to us by a friend. Either deliberate or work-style, he was horrible at communicating: always delayed and late responding to email and phone calls. After 4 years of appeals and enduring the Social Security Benefits Disabilities application process, he helped my mom FINALLY procure her disability benefits as a 'disabled citizen'... ...which sounds nice n' dandy EXCEPT for the fact that my mom was supposed to be considered a disabled widow. The difference from being a 'disabled widow' to just a 'disabled citizen' title was nearly $500. I didn't find this out until I went to the SSA office on my own! I left numerous messages and sent emails asking him to correct this situation, given that this was his job since we hired him. I haven't heard from him in nearly 8 months! Essentially, Clark was awarded $5K for helping us secure benefits. In this case, my mother received the incorrect amount and he was STILL paid from her benefits. How messed up is this?! Final Call: *I gave Clark two stars only because he was in court with us to at least procure the incorrect amount - I mean, I guess this is better than nothing? *I was disappointed in him because I thought he was a nice guy - he didn't follow-up even after acknowledging that my mother was awarded the incorrect amount!

I actually stated no not SSI case & your employee was not listening asked me said huh wait talked over me kept telling me I didn't know what I was talking about without actually hearing a word I had to say. She stated you don't handle Disability benefits. Which is a bit of false advertising as you can see you state disability law but your employee stated no. I'm clearly stating what happened your people are telling people that call they don't know what they're talking about. The fact you are stating I was upset actually I wasn't and I'm not I found completely unprofessional and sad your intake people are telling callers "well you don't know what you're talking about" that your employee weather she was tired rude whatever she was dealing with that day decided to projecting it and bringing her personal problems in the work place. Like I said unprofessional makes you look bad when your employees are having a bad day & they act out at work. You leave personal issues at the door a work place is not a place for tantrums and attitude.

Had a court date in three weeks and I needed a good lawyer for my arraignment date. I knew that this was only arraignment. And usually nothing happens except pleading guilty or not guilty. Well long story short. Andrew didn't just sit around and wait while the other lawyers would try and cut in front of him. The San Francisco court house is chaos! He made sure we were heard as soon as possibly. And I didn't have to wait for hrs. Like I would have had to do if I had a public defender. Well the case got dismissed. And Andrew is going to help do the expulsion also. Totally a class act lawyer! Thank you Andrew!

Long story short - got the temporary restraining order back in December 2024, wonderful choice of direction some people choose to solve business disputes. I looked around and picked Andrew as my counsel. Nice and friendly interview, practicing family/civil law, plus more than a hundred 5-star reviews (for an attorney) -- what else do you need, right? Besides, having backups of texts, emails, paperwork going back for more than three years and reading through utterly ridiculous affidavit filed against me, I haven't had a single worry on my mind. Until the final hearing 15 months later. and... The most disappointing, hurtful, and insufferable element in the outcome of this case is not the adjudication but rather - Andrew's covert yet egregious abuse of my trust - "I really want you win. I'm doing my best to make it happen. I know you are the good guy here" yadayadayada. - his persistent lying and gaslighting about pretty much everything case-related. "Did you read my email? - Yes, sure! - Ok, which point do you prefer? - Oh, I don't know yet, I'll read it again later". Of course he didn't read it because Mailtrack (the email tracking addon which shows whether an you sent got read or an attachment got opened, etc) I finally installed in Gmail just to see what's going on, it showed "not read yet" - he would open an email in question five to ten minutes after a nudge yet pay no attention to the attachments as if the evidence documents attached were the least of your concern (that turned to be the case after all). - his flagrant lack of even a modicum of professional integrity - he didn't pay attention to anything happening with my case, facing a rather aggressive counsel on the opposite side who's been bombarding me with the delays, contempts, motions this and motions that - he just attended hearings and gaslighted me about "there's nothing we can do here" - he constantly failed to even let me know about the new court documents filed by the opposing party - I had to set a reminder/alarm for myself to check the case log via court's website on a daily basis just to make sure I won't miss the new filings. - he picked twelve pieces of evidence (primarily business convos related) out of more than 70 available (one-on-one communications disproving each allegation one after another), told me I don't need witnesses, disregarded testimonies of witnesses on the opposite side, yeah.... - his lack of responsibility and preparedness illustrated by "I have no idea what's going on here" conduct in the courtroom where the commissioner felt compelled to raise a few objections herself to stop opposing counsel's inappropriate line of questioning. He was peacefully staring at the ceiling meanwhile. - his lack of self-reflection in regard to his mistakes or mostly shortcomings - he prefers to blame it all on everybody else around: petitioner, opposing counsel, judge, weather, and me of course (apparently I was too nervous and yet he had full list of my medical conditions and medications but didn't bother informing the commissioner about it). - his "it's your problem" attitude which became clearly evident when you failed to mumble out a single word to explain the reasoning for my remote participation (which has angered the judge beyond belief) at first evidentiary hearing, My mother had a stroke two days prior and after spending ~ 40 sleepless hours sitting in some waiting room at the CPMC Van Ness while she's been going through three separate cranial/brain surgeries. I kept him aware of each and every development, even the minor ones, sent him doctors' correspondence to show to the judge - he didn't bother until the hearing started and judge began yelling. - his complete obliviousness to opposing counsel's conduct and her complete disregard to attorney's candor rules. He hasn't even bothered to react to her literally screaming some despicable bs at the judge like "respondent's lying! He's not at any hospital! I know it because his car didn't leave the driveway in the last five days". Well, my car hasn't left the driveway for more than seven months - the battery's been dead ever since but.... rejoice! There's Uber and I did send even the freaking trips receipts. Nah, he didn't even bother to raise the question the source of info re: where my car is (not geoloc for sure, battery's _dead_ dead) - his unprofessional, childish tantrums where he would let himself to literally yell at me or ask me questions like "are you bipolar or is it OCD?" - and so on. To sum it up - if you are determined to snatch a life-destroying defeat from the jaws of victory (for the lack of better words) and pay a ton of $$$ for it, then Andrew is your top choice.
