UPDATE - Yesterday was the hearing in my Social Security Disability case and after what seemed a lifetime of stress, worry, uncertainty and helplessness it is finally over! Despite the fact that it generally takes about 60 days to get the verdict, having Christina by my side, fighting for me was in itself a wonderful blessing. I had actually filed my case almost 3 years ago and as to be expected was initially denied. For those beginning the process, please be warned that the Social Security Department operates from the perspective of a "Numbers Game" in that they deny EVERYONE as they know that statistically, most who are denied will give up the process therefore saving any benefits that could have been forthcoming! With that in mind, I had found Christina Miller & Associates, made an appointment, met with her and was immediately taken in by her apparent experience, her clear and immense knowledge of the Many Rules and Regulations surrounding Disability and her many years of inevitable contact building in the various jurisdictions. Upon meeting her for the first time, I was immediately taken in by her inviting warmth, her apparent concern for my plight and her ability to put me at ease. The level of empathy I got from her was genuine and in no way did I get the feeling it was forced. I had made the decision to hire her very quickly upon meeting her in person. Christina was open, honest and never sugar coated any aspect of my case. She never over promised and certainly never under delivered. I was always under the impression that I was more to her than just another client with a case I needed her help with. I was shocked! We had won! Everything I had been waiting impatiently for over the past 3 years had come to a conclusion and thanks to Christina, all the stress, worry, uncertainty and helplessness was over! Upon thanking the Judge and exiting the courtroom, I looked at Christina, gave her a big hug and thanked her from the bottom of my heart! She then made the comment that what we had just experienced only usually happens in one of 50 cases. Like I said, typically one can expect to wait up to 60 days for a verdict. The Judge ruled in my case immediately! I can't thank Christina enough for all she had done for me in helping to secure my future and give me back the hope that I will be ok. I give credit to her for her helping us all from the perspective of one friend helping another and not simply as just another case number! I know this is a bit long winded, but I felt it very important to give those who have for whatever reason found themselves in need of a friend to help get them past the mountain that is Social Security and their incessant denials of people that legitimately deserve their benefits. I know what it's like to be in the middle of the ocean with no one in site to help us to shore and safety! The first time I filed I went with a big name firm. They told me at first how it should be a slam dunk case.
