I decided to try the Cary location (this one) because it's close to my favorite restaurant. The experience itself was fine, my waxer was friendly but I was blown away by fast how she was. One thing I noticed was that she kept reusing the same wax strips instead of applying fresh wax. So she would put a layer of wax down then a strip, remove the strip, then use the same strip a bunch of times on other parts of my leg. They definitely have never done that at Fenton. Anyway, I'm a few days out from my wax and I can see so many hairs coming in already!! It just feels like a total waste of money. I'm going back to the Fenton location from now on.

So 20 minutes later, I'm at her place getting groomed. I was back in my car after another 20 minutes. She was fast. Which was surprising to me considering I haven't been waxed in a long time. This was my first time sugaring and it was better than I expected. Since I haven't waxed in awhile, I was pretty embarrassed. But Viktoria made me feel comfortable. This isn't a typical salon, but she keeps it clean. This is not a typical spa experience, and the location wasn't what I was expecting. Sugarland is more like going over to your girlfriend's house for some grooming help. I saw her changing her gloves when she needed to get more from the jar, so that was reassuring in terms of cleanliness. While I was changing, she already started removing the disposable liner and spraying down the table already. I was actually surprised at the smoothness of my skin afterwards. I guess I'm hooked on sugaring. It's more than I'd like to pay compared to regular waxing (eg. $50).... But I think sugaring is better for my skin. I've been getting gel manicures for years and have a problem with my nails bending and cracking below the quick. They recommended dip manicure and it lasted 7 weeks without cracking. Okay, I don't type much at this point but still...amazing results. I just never thought to try dip before. I could have gone years more never realizing dip was a better option for me. Today Tai worked very hard to get me the shape I wanted. A pet peeve of mine is when my nails aren't uniformly filed. Gel or dip is going to cover some filing inconsistencies but I feel my nails hold their shape better over time when they're filed uniformly from the start.
