I think he was the same guy who did it last time but I did not get a name. I got a report on all 4 tires, pressure when I got there and how much was needed. I had a really good experience at the Midlothian Discount Tire where I bought these Continentals, another well run Discount Tire. Efficient, helpful, good price on tires, easy. I really think the Waynesboro store is top level service, good people, quality work. I will definitely use them when I get the next tires. You cannot go wrong with the Waynesboro store, or the Midlothian store. Thanks guys at Waynesboro Discount Tire on 1/5/26! Excuse me? If the advertised price is $79 is basically just the oil change and everything else gets tacked on afterward, SAY THAT UP FRONT. Don't advertise an oil change for $79 and then surprise customers with additional charges at checkout. If the real price is $100, advertise $100. It's that simple. And to make it worse, they didn't reset the oil-change warning light, didn't put a mileage sticker on the windshield, and didn't tell me whether anything else on the car needed attention. So what exactly was I paying extra for? I'm not upset that a filter costs money. I'm upset about surprise charges and poor communication. If there are additional fees, disclose them when the customer asks for the price--not when they're standing at the register with no choice but to pay. Next time, just advertise the actual price instead of baiting customers with $79 and adding charges at checkout. No one likes surprise fees, and it's not a complicated concept: state the damn price up front.

Took my car there for an inspection and coolant leak. They replaced the radiator. Two days, 50…read moremiles later, my car made a loud banging sound, overheated, and broke down. I had to pay for a tow back to their shop. Several days later they told me it was a burst radiator hose. They never replaced the hose! Ladd Auto then charged for AGAIN for labor, new coolant, and parts. (An extra $167 on top of the $120 tow) A few days later my car started smoking again. This time from an oil leak dripping onto my heat shield. They changed the oil in my car, even put the sticker in the windows, then denied the oil change when I brought the car back. I took my car to another shop. Now, just a few weeks later, I am experiencing a coolant leak again. I went here because the reviews raved about honesty. This was not the case for me! I was gaslight and problems were not fixed.​

When I mentioned it, the mechanic told me to bring it back if it continued. When I took it back for them to try to determine the problem, they had no record of me or my previous visit in their system--even though I paid them twice. They claimed I needed an alignment due to uneven wear, but I'd had one just 6 months earlier and hadn't hit any potholes. A trusted mechanic later confirmed my differential had chunks missing from it ($850 repair). Talking it over with a friend, who explained what was required to do such damage, it became clear: someone must have taken my car (a twin-turbo) for a joy ride after the tire install and hit something hard enough to damage both the alignment and differential. Bottom line: avoid this shop--your car may come back worse than when you dropped it off.

We brought our truck in for a new a battery, and an oil change, and general inspection for some…read moreissues we had. After paying $1200 for these services, the next time we tried to start the truck, the battery was dead. Turns out they never replaced the battery. We took it back and they did. Then a month later the oil light came on. We brought it to another mechanic who told us there was no oil in the truck, and the oil filter had not been replaced. They also never fixed the other minor issues we asked them to look at. When we went back to complain, they were very indignant, and only begrudgingly refunded part of our money. My advice is to avoid this place at all costs. They messed up our friends car when we went in for an oil change and inspection. They have terrible quality control.

had an oil leak on my lexus, brought it in for new valve cover, lady at the front desk insisted i…read moreneeded new spark plugs despite them operating perfectly fine. i told her not to just go ahead and install them but to wait for the technician to address if it was necessary in the first place and to call me before i gave them the greenlight to install an additional $112 worth of parts (likely an additional $100 at least in labor costs for a 6 cylinder like this). they did not call me at all until the job had been completed, completely disregarded my request and proceeding to charge me for it. not only that but when i arrived to pick up the car the had added an array of additional charges and labor charges to the itemized receipt, including a charge for tightening ALTERNATOR bolts, new coolant hosing, and new bolts from apparently cross threading (this car has only been worked on professionally). some of these charges had absolutely nothing to do with the maintenance i had brought the car in for. the validity of these charges comes off to me as a predatory means of squeezing more money out of customers (something the auto mechanic world is infamous for). based on principle alone i cant stand for this and I wont be returning

Gene, went above and beyond to save me money on replacing the back axle of jeep (that I no longer have but dearly miss). Donna, is incredible and what a lot people fail to realize, this lady does the clerical work and jumps in to help out in the garage, I have seen people team her over coals - not knowing that she is busting her tail, just as much as a man does. I like to consider myself, an honest person and going after someone as hard working as her - really sets me on fire!! These people bust their hard-working tails off to provide the best auto service in the City of Waynesboro, so show them respect please. This is not pointed to everyone, just those (I don't know other customers may be going through - but an ounce of kindness is good for the soul).
