Colin sandbagged my job (consisting of just over two dozen pieces) over a month and have mixed up the colors (black/white) for my panels, and some of them turned out to have nasty buildups and I've asked him to redo them. He did redo them, grudgingly. He basically made me pick up my pieces in groups of 4-5 pieces. On the final group, he again messed up my panel which turned out with a red tinge which I suspect to have been contaminated while they worked on a nearby piece. (See attached photo for details). I told him about it and his response was: "I will redo these pieces one last time and that is all." This piece had never been "redone". Nonetheless I told him: "In reality, no professional will ask their customer to accept a contaminated piece like this." and his response to me was: "Once you deal with other powder coaters you will understand how forgiving we have been to you. We are not robots, this is done by hand and mistakes happen like minor ones such as yours so please be understanding. We have already agreed to redo it for you for no extra cost. However this is the last and final time." I went back to the shop to pick up my leftover powder, which I had provided them for the job, with the tinged part and showed it to his partner/associate named Raymond. Raymond saw the piece and acknowledged the problem, but I told him that I don't need them to redo it even though they had the obligation; and that I was going to bring it to someone else because I didn't pay these guys for them to be "forgiving" nor am I here to plea for forgiveness from them. Pfff... He was right about one thing though, powder coaters (in the GTA) are A-holes, and he certainly is one of them. If there is one thing that the readers can take away from this review, it is to NEVER pay these guys a cent until they've finish your job. The reason I had to put up with this guy's BS till the end was because 1) the parts were irreplaceable and 2) I've paid the guy in full at the beginning. P.S. I brought your mess --- the red-tinged part --- to another powder coater and told him what happened and he offered to redo it for free, and he did. read more
