I've been here a few times since it changed from Dhanshiri Restaurant and I will keep going back here and recommending the place.
Took the in-laws as they take us to a very nice place up in N'w'cle when we visit them so I wanted to show off this little gem!
We made a booking but the place was quiet (due to the scorching weather outside) and we had the pleasure of very attentive but not overly pushy service with the added benefit of air-con to make sure our experience was comfortable.
We ordered a bottle of the Pinot and it was produced rapidly with a bottle of water too (not requested but we were so grateful for it) while we took our time over the extensive menu.
This place has something on the menu for everyone- i have tried the Vege dishes and quite a few curries off the menu and have never been disappointed.
Between us we ordered- Onion Bhaji, tikka chops and special chaat to start followed by Lamb Parsi, Chicken Nawabi Khana, Rajhastani Special, Accompanied by Pilau rice, lemon rice and a plain & garlic naan.
The food doesn't arrive quick but you need to appreciate this place is not a 'chain' restaurant, it's all being cooked to order and when it arrives- you appreciate that you can taste all the flavours in the description and you have a very enjoyable meal!
The restaurant as I said was quiet- only 3 other tables in while we dined (10 people in total) but the takeaway service was busy.
We didn't even ask for the second bottle of water to be produced- it was brought automatically when the first one was empty- nice and attentive!
as ever, we couldn't finish the whole lot so it was packaged up for us to take home- a very nice touch.
We declined coffee and dessert due to being stuffed and paid the £60.60p bill (very good price for a very enjoyable feed).
We were then given a Complimentary drink of our choice to finish off our night, compliments of the management- where do you find service like this anymore!!!!!!
We had a Baileys, Whisky, Brandy and a glass of wine and all were brought with a smile and with the same warm and attentive service we'd enjoyed all night.
Definitely worth a visit to appreciate a real taste of Indian cooking and have a break from the 'chain' restaurant experience.
