I gave 3 stars for the food. I would have given 5 but -
My wedding anniversary. It has been quite a long time since my husband and I have had Indian food, so when we read the reviews and looked at the menu online, we decided to place an order
I ordered the Deluxe Thali (6 dishes chosen by the chef, spiciness chosen by customers). This came with Pilau Rice (as per the menu), but I ordered another Pilau Rice, as I did not think 1 portion would be enough. I made it very clear that the dishes must be chicken and vegetarian, as we do not eat lamb/beef. This was acknowledged by the person taking the order.
I also ordered 1 portion each of Onion Bahjis and Vegetable Samosas, both priced at £2.50 each
When the food came, the person was very polite. However, upon opening the all the containers, I was very upset to discover that I had only received 1 Pilau rice and 1 Salad. No mention was made of Salad. Also there was 1 beef dish.
I rang the restaurant and explained the situation. I was asked if I wanted the other portion of Pilau rice to be delivered, to which my reply was yes, as i had paid for it, but i was concerned how long it would take to arrive, as I did not want the rest of the food to get cold.
I was told somebody was already on their way and it did arrive quite quickly, with an apology, but in the meantime, the food did get cold.
When I have ordered from other restaurants and they have made a mistake, they send a small token, such as a few poppodums, or prawn crackers, but there was nothing.
It is not a question of being greedy, but a small token like that, when they have made a mistake, goes a long way. It is good customer service.
Also, although we did enjoy the vegetable samosas and onion bahjees, £2.50 for 2 small samosas and 2 small bahjees, were in my opinion expensive.
If I were to order from this restaurant again, I would insist the person waited until I checked, I had everything I had paid for read more
