Eleven of us ordered food, including enormous tubs of rice, giant and entirely amazing onion bhajis (definitely get some of these- big scotch egg sized tasty globes). Everyone had something different, and there was a bit of sharing too, everyone was happy. The hotter ones have a reasonable kick, and a surprisingly good one was the shampan- picked out of morbid curiosity, with mozzarella cheese on top, and not swimming with fat. We were all very full, and the Naans still tasted nice the next morning!

They don't have a booze license, but they almost encourage you to bring your own, or, as the place is surrounded by pubs and bars, you can always nip out and bring some back from any of the nearby places. The chicken korma I had was delicious, and my (much more adventurous) friend was singing the praises of the liver starter dish for the rest of the night, so it must have been something special. Moghul's don't just play it safe - they offer less traditionally stereotypical dishes such as fish and the aforementioned liver, and for this they must be praised. But most of the praise must be reserved for the prices - scandalously low for such fine cooking.

Still i think its well earned. First off remember to bring your own alcohol if you want it. Moghul don't have the licence but will happily chill and dispense anything you bring. Being right next door to a relaxed pub also makes it easy to sort out drinks if you've forgotten your own (though you may get dragged into Kareoke for your trouble!) Moghul started well, the Lassi (yoghurt based smoothie) was really well made and the various chutney's and sauces served with the starter were really nice. All the starters were impressively sized as were the nan that accompanied the main. We had some debate on the food. I'm a little easy to please and reckon mine was really nice. Very standard affair but well made and just about spicy enough for me. The foody to my right was a little concerned about the origin of his meat. I guess when you buy duck and don't recognise the taste you.... (cry fowl?) sorry. But despite reservations over the taste everyone did enjoy the food. Its a little small and on a day like we've been having recently, incredibly hot inside. But the staff were attentive (if a little dopey at times, 1 glass for the jug of water amongst 4 was funny as was the cutlery count to start with). I think for the price and given the lack of serious contenders in Horsforth that Moghul could almost warrent 4 stars, thrown into the mix in leeds it might not fair so well but for what we wanted it fit the bill perfectly.

The staff seemed to expertly anticipate my needs, and I never felt like I needed anything becauSe everything arrived at the perfect time. No task was too small for any of the team, and I interacted with 5 different employees, all of whom were extremely friendly, professional, and efficient. Chatted with Jay about world travel, and he made me feel at home. I will certainly be back if I ever make it back to Leeds. Food was delicious as well! Vegetarian feast of papadum, chutneys, chana masala, and dal was enough for 2 meals. Service ended with a hot wet towel, pure luxury. Cannot recommend highly enough!! 10 stars

We had the appetizer assortment consisting of lamb, chicken and onion bharji which was fantastic. Popadoms were fresh and served with a delicious pickle tray. I had the lamb balti which was one of the best i've ever had, fall apart tender morsels of lamb in a delicious brown curry sauce, spiced to perfection, incredible dish all round, i added chapati and rice and couldn't be happier with my decision. Service was outstanding, extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff making this my new go to Indian whenever i'm in the UK!

It used to be the pub that served the housing estate it lies within, which gives it a rather strange appearance and location for a curry house. Despite this, it has developed a fine reputation since it became a restaurant rather than a pub, and I was strongly recommended to check it out. Two mains, starter, naan, saffron rice, ras mali and two beers for less than £20 each for this quality is a great deal. Lost a star for taking ages for main course and not giving us any change (we gave them £40 for a £37 bill but seemed to forget the change) then asking us to move to free the table up. The change was three quid which we were going to give as a tip anyway but still a bit unprofessional.
