My wife and I went here for an early Valentine's Day dinner. We were there on a Saturday night around 5:30 and there was only one other couple there. I'll tell you wait, this place is a hidden gem though. The place itself is an old Pizza Hut located between High Point and Jamestown. It's a small building with a drive through and quite a bit of parking for a small establishment. Nothing incredibly fancy but they had some nice touches such as homemade wicker decorations and traditional sauces on the tables. The lighting was not overly bright but was a nice ambiance setter. Our waitress was phenomenal. Very polite and explained everything to us. She reviewed the items we ordered and made sure we understood what everything was. She even explained to us how traditional Vietnamese people ate some of the dishes which added to the experience. We ordered 3 appetizers to split and get a taste of different things and it was nice as she brought out each one separately so we could enjoy what was just served. As for the food, we had the following: Rice Paper Rolls - all the ingredients were fresh and the vegetables were crisp. The peanut dipping sauce was to die for and could have been eaten by itself. Pulled Pork Sliders - a more modern take on pork buns. These were one of our favorite dishes . The cilantro was a little heavy but a minor complaint. Chicken Satay - absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The peanut sauce was glazed on and not too heavy. For our main course my wife had the House Pho and I had Beef Shortrib Banh Hoi. My wife really enjoyed her Pho although the tendon and tripe were chewy and not to her liking. The Banh Hoi was absolutely delicious and a fun way to eat dinner. For those who haven't had it, it's almost a make your own lettuce wrap with meat, a sheet of noodles, cucumber, and carrots. You then dip it in a broth. All of the flavors meld nicely and it was delicious! I had the short rib which were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend this little gem for a fun night out or to try something different.
We were in town and needed a quick bite to eat and decided to come here based on reviews. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and had a nice ambiance. Service was lack luster. We came in, and the server was having his lunch. He seated us, and we waited for minutes and had to wave him that we were ready to order. We placed an order, that itself was a disaster, since he couldn't really understand special requests, like less noodles and extra broth. So we decided to just order as is with my BF asking for extra meat, which he understood. The food came out in less than 10 minutes. And once served, he was never to be found again and had to walk up to the counter to pay. Now, the pho was good and the meats were tender. But, I've had way better pho in the East Coast. It was a little bland and I had to add hoisin and sriracha to enhance and add some zest to the taste.
I called our order in the gal who answered the phone was very nice and reviewed my order with me. The young man at the drive in window was adorable he's definitely learning the family business and doing a great job! The ambiance is minimal, an old fastfood location. We didn't go inside as we were asked to go through the drive thru to get our order. We got garlic butter chicken wings unfortunately they were chewy and not very good. We had the chicken Pad Thai was lacking flavor. The yellow curry was watery but good flavor. Last we had the chicken rice sizzling the broccoli was not over cooked and the flavor was light. I appreciated everything was hot. This was definitely a onetime try for us.
We stopped in here for dinner tonight after not eating here for a long time. No real reason why we haven't been here because it's always good! The lady serving us (maybe the owner?) was so nice and even said she recognized us. I love that kind of service, when you almost feel like you're eating with someone in their home. The pho was delicious and my dish, which I'd only had one other time in a different Vietnamese restaurant in Greensboro, was good but not what I expected. I'd seen someone on social media making this dish and it was so crispy! When I had it before it wasn't crispy at all (at the other place), but this time it was. It's a very messy dish to eat because you wrap a piece of the crepe in lettuce with some other toppings, then dip in the sauce provided. Very tasty! They have banh mi and bubble tea so we'll be going back soon.
Ordered via Grub Hub, and I can tell you, they know how to pack a to go order and keep it fresh! Ordered the avocado fries which arrived crispy! It came with a mayo sauce which was not a good match in my opinion, so I swapped it out for my own sweet chili sauce - a much better matchup! Ordered the veggie tofu pad Thai with extra hot sauce on the side. Unfortunately, the restaurant missed the hot sauce note, but thankfully I had sriracha at home! Definitely recommend this dish to anyone who likes tofu! The flavor combo was spot on! This will definitely be a repeat place to order! I can't wait to try it at the restaurant!
Ordered the shrimp sizzling rice plate and fresh shrimp & pork salad rolls. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and nicely cooked. Loved the crispy rice and the light, herb-filled rolls. Cozy spot and solid Vietnamese food. Service was quick and efficient as well
Rice Paper came highly recommended by a friend, and man what a great place to try out. I've been craving "something new", and since I don't eat Vietnamese food very often, this fit the bill. We went on a Sunday night when business is slow, and found the restaurant fairly empty. We were immediately greeted and seated. The service was extremely attentive the entire visit and despite other customers in the restaurant, I really felt like it was personal attention. The decor is cute, with bamboo conical hats hanging from the ceiling, calm oriental themed music, and dim lighting. There are some inconsistencies I noticed, like the menu saying they are open to 10pm, the sign on the door saying 8:30pm, and Yelp saying 8pm. This business owner seems to be active on Yelp since the majority of the images on the business page are posted by them. I would prefer to see more images from actual customers, but that is a minor complaint. I ordered the fresh lemonade, which was sweet but delicious. Notably, beverages do not include free refills which is not a big deal but a deviation from the norm in the region. We started with the shrimp and pork wontons as an appetizer, and while they were a bit oily because they were fresh from the deep frier, they were delicious and stuffed with meat. The accompanying sauce was very tasty as well, and we actually asked for extra later to enjoy on the Pad Thai. My wife ordered the chicken Pad Thai, which was fantastic. Many places I've been to lean very heavily into the peanut flavor to the point it feels like you're eating straight peanut butter, and it was very nice to have a sweet and spicy sauce with just a hint of peanut instead. I would absolutely order again. I had the house special Pho, and they warned me in advance that the dish contained tendon and tripe, which I'm sure is a negative for a fair amount of American customers. However, I knew what I was getting into and I was very happy with how tender and flavorful the dish was. It was a huge portion (I took a whole serving for lunch the next day home) and the meats were extremely tender. The flavor was great, and I really appreciated the spicy and Hoisin sauces on the table to customize it to my liking. We finished the meal with Mango Sticky Rice, one of my favorite treats. I thought it was interesting the rice was dyed green, and the rice was a bit dry and over-cooked, but it still tasted great and we really enjoyed it. Based on first impressions, this establishment looks a bit run down and doesn't readily catch your eye, but I really had a fantastic meal here and am glad I took the recommendation of a friend at face value. They offer online ordering with a drive thru window in addition to the inside dining, so you can enjoy this great food both in restaurant and at home. It's a hidden gem and worth a try!
Lowkey dining room with an old school feel that may not appeal to some but the food was very good. Prompt and attentive service throughout our meal. We started with the hot tea which came out steaming and was perfect for the cold weather. The Spicy lemongrass beef soup was good. Tons of flavor and spice from the chili oil and lemongrass. Healthy amount of beef brisket and Vietnamese ham which reminded me of mortadella. Beef was very tender and the ham was a unique touch. Good portion of beansprouts and basil on the side as well Rare steak and meatball pho was also good the steak was cooked nicely and very tender. Meatballs were juicy and soaked up a lot of the broth. Overall this was a nice meal and i want to come back and try their bahn mi
I went on a Sunday because I wanted to try a dish called hu tieu (dry noodles with the soup on the side). I second guess myself because it was lunch time on a Sunday and there were only a few cars. I went in anyways just to try it out. The decor was nice. But as I sat down, I noticed a lot of dust and windows that needed cleaning. The server was nice, but as I was still looking over the menu and I told him I needed more time. He just stood over me and I felt kinda rush. I got their appetizer tray and the hu tieu. The food was ok. If you're in the area, keep on and pass bye. I will not be back.
I ordered via Door Dash. My food arrived hot. I ordered wings, fried spring rolls, and what I thought was chicken fried rice but it was this chicken noodle stuff. The wings were absolutely delicious. They had this garlic herb sauce and were crispy. However, the chicken noodle stuff and the spring rolls tasted as though they were recooked. The spring rolls were oily and chicken noodle stuff tasted reheated. The flavors were there I just wish it was fresh.

I am picky about Asian food. But I have grown to love Bahn mi sandwiches and have only really had them from food trucks. This is the first time we tried them in a restaurant and color me in unimpressed. One of the things I love about Bahn mi is all the interesting pickled vegetables. There was barely anything on the sandwich except meat. Which was touch. And the size of the sandwich is small. The pictures make it look large but it's a little longer then my hand. Go to a food truck. You'll get better sandwiches read more
Service was great! (We were the only table there hah!) The Bun Bo was disappointing. The noodles weren't the bun bo hue noodles and the flavors were lacking. My boyfriend did enjoy their pho. The Thai Tea had too much of the tea flavor and not enough sweetness for me but that's just my personal preference. The place seemed well kept. Clean space. I like the decor of the place. It seemed like they brought back a lot of the decorative pieces from Vietnam. read more

I have been to plenty of Vietnamese restaurants and have ordered many phos togo.. never have I been served this much broth, which is not enough broth to cover all the noodles.. and top it off they charge $15 for this.. Ridiculous! I always go to Greensboro but only went because my mother lives in HP and was craving some pho. Will never go back. Also the service was terrible, the server does not speak English and was trying to charge me for appetizers that I thought were included with the meal. read more

First time trying this place. Large menu with the usual options and other items I haven't seen at the other Vietnamese restaurants I've visited. We tried the Asian pork rice paper rolls (husband loved, but the wrapper was incredibly tough, and the spice flavor for the pork didn't appeal to me.) the presentation of the rolls was appealing. Next we had the chicken pho and pork vermicelli bowl with fried spring roll (I added a 2nd). The portions here was as generous as other places (and the bowl for noodles was an unusual but appealing design). I sampled husbands pho broth and while it wasn't as deep and multi leveled with spices like Pho Hien Vuong, but it was still tasty. It came already topped with cilantro, and a side of bamboo shoots, jalapeño slices, and basil we were already provided with a spice platter which included pickles onions(oh my yummy!!!), pickles jalapeños, and spicy hot chili paste, and sriracha, hoisin salutes. My bowl was heaped with the fried spring roll, and grilled skewered bbq pork. The grilled pork was amazing - highly recommend! Much better than the fried pork usually offered. The fried spring rolls contained meat I think also ground pork. Delicious and surprising- I expected veggie spring roll so I'll know to question in the future. Cons: it's a small place so don't plan large groups Prices are a bit higher (not large increases) Tables were sticky when we sat down to the point the side of my hand stuck to the table. They were not busy so I'd expect cleaned tables Petty: I would have expected more cucumbers and lettuce in my noodle bowl - got one cucumber slice with the matchstick slices attached, and one large chunk of onion. Pros: Fancy tables and chairs and decor project higher ambience making this place more upscale than expected Extended menu with dishes not seen at other locations Delicious food TLDR: Go eat here. I'm already planning my next order read more
This was my first visit here. We normally go to a different Pho restaurant but we wanted to give this one a try. We where very surprised how good the food was. Every bit as good as what we have been getting at the other place. When we pulled in the parking lot it was only a few cars and the restaurant was somewhat empty. We went in a was greeted right away and was taken to our table. We ordered a appetizer of some fried spring rolls. I ordered the chicken pho soup as well. The wife ordered a noodle bowl. We where both very happy with what we got. If you a fan of pho this will be a great place to try out. We will definitely be going back read more

My parents and I decided to give this place a try since it's closer to where we live than Pho Hien Vuong (one of my faves). The interior was nice and casual and it smelled really good when we walked in. Truthfully I was drawn to this place because I saw they had a Durian milkshake and my dad and I LOVE durian. If you've never had it before, it's a really exotic fruit - deemed the King of fruit - it has a very distinct smell and flavor and typically people either love it or hate it. So of course, we ordered one and I also ordered a Vietnamese Iced drip coffee with condensed milk - YUM. My dad and I loved the durian milkshake! It tasted like we were drinking fresh durian versus what I was afraid of - some type of flavor syrup. The iced coffee was also delicious: strong, sweet and creamy. For appetizers we ordered the green papaya salad with fried tofu, the fried spring rolls and fresh spring rolls. The green papaya salad was a bit disappointing. I've eaten papaya salad many times before and this just didn't hit the mark for me. Normally it's spicy, crunchy and tangy. The papaya was soft and there wasn't enough sauce - the tofu was fried nicely though! The fried spring rolls were nice and crunchy and the filling was pretty good. Just your typical cabbage, carrot, mushroom etc. The fresh spring rolls were exactly that - fresh! Filled with veggies and nice with the peanut sauce on the side. It also had some sausage in it that reminded me of home in Hong Kong. For our mains, my parents both ordered chicken pho and I ordered the pork satay noodle bowl. The pork satay bowl was pretty good, just not great. The marinade on the pork was a little too sweet for me, however, I do love that the bowl had lots of fresh veggies (bean sprout, cucumber, carrot, radish). I tried the broth from my dads pho and it was pretty good - a little light and had good flavor. But like some other reviews I've seen, Pho Hien Vuong's pho is still the best. All in all this place is worth the try. It'll be a nice spot for those days where I'm feeling lazy and don't feel like driving out to spring garden because this place is down the street. That durian milkshake tho - I'm coming back for you! read more

As a Vietnamese person, I was excited to try this new restaurant! You seat your self upon entering. The chairs are a bit funky (you'll see when you get there lol). I ordered spring rolls (which they call something else), rice with tofu and beans, banh mi dac biet, prawn vermicelli, and chicken satay. I didn't find the flavors to be authentic, but I could see the general public enjoying these flavors. The service was good, menu is American friendly, but I definitely wouldn't return. I think if you're in the high point area, it's worth a try, but I don't think it's worth the drive from greensbo read more

This a good spot for vegetarians. Kid friendly. I always wipe the tables down myself before eating , because I have a toddler and he drops his food on the table and picks it back up. And the table passed the mommy test as it was very clean. The decor is very nice. It's contemporary with a nice Vietnamese flair. The food was good. My spouse and I both had the vegetarian pho. My toddler had fries and veggies. The bubble tea was super good. Only downfall is that they were out of tapioca. I highly recommend and will definitely be returning. The service was great. I went back to this restaurant and I must say the food was even better, the service was great. Highly recommend the Pho for vegans or vegetarians since the broth is made w/ veggies not meat. My baby loved the fried bananas & ice cream. I will return and update my review again. Also, the bathrooms were very clean. Still loving the modern decor. read more

We've always loved Saigon in GSO, yet haven't been in years. But NOW, we have this privilege in High Point. Authentic and flavorful, fresh and served well. A pleasant atmosphere and courteous staff. We're sure to be regulars. Mango salad amazing Shirley said she could enjoy it everyday. The hot and sour beef noodle soup was generous and a delight to the last drop. We'll be back and we're bringing our friends. An unfortunate update...their food is the draw, however come with a measure of patience should you bring a sizable party or come when busy... last time there, they were challenged by the demand. read more

Rice Paper came highly recommended to me. Located right on Greensboro road in high point NC. Formerly another restaurant. This place has been remodeled inside and is very nice looking. Plenty of parking in a private lot. The menu is very large and very authentic Thai. There are lots of choices here. I picked the pork 5 way plate. This was a good amount of food and the taste was indeed delicious. The pork chop was not dry at all very juicy and full of flavor. Pork meatloaf was a new one on me but delivered a great taste to an old classic. Jasmine rice was mild and good. Fried egg on top had me wanting more before I even finished. Great taste all around. I was happy with the choices. Very good restaurant. Very clean. Fast friendly service. read more

Had the pleasure of grabbing a table at @ricepaper.hp in High Point and OMG this place has an appetizer that will have your flavor receptors on cloud 9. A duck confit slider on a steamed bun! Rice papers menu is stocked full of authentic Vietnamese dishes, it had us flipping pages back and forth like a old phonebook. This place is off the beaten path but should be a household name for what they will cook up for you. Short drive to High Point for a guaranteed good time, why not? read more

Visiting High Point for business convention and need something to eat. We have looked around and most restaurants we wanted to visit were closed during mid afternoon. We ended up at this place. We are happy about our visit. The foods were pretty good and the service was pretty good. You can tell from the food taste that the cook is professional based on how the flavors compliments each other really well. The foods were flavorful but not greasy. You don't feel tired or uncomfortable after the meal. The team enjoyed the foods they ordered. read more

Shrimp dumplings were light and crispy and wonderful. The duck confirm sliders we're so so amazing. The veggies and the duck and the Bun would have made Kung Fu Panda supremely happy. The Shaken beef has such beautiful unexpected flavors and when accompanied by the tomato rice it is just beyond amazing. The Five flavor pork was " the best pork chop" my son has ever had. He said "sorry Mom!" I had to agree it was fantastic. This is Jamestown's secret jewel. read more

New place that has to be on your list if you are into Vietnamese cuisine. I had the 5 pork plate (may not be the exact name) and it was great. I've had the same dish at Van Loi II and this was one was better. Each pork choice on the plate had great flavor and was cooked correctly. My wife had the Crepe dish and she enjoyed her's also. Restaurant is decorated nicely but the chairs are not comfortable so if you like to linger and talk the outsie metal chairs may be a better choice. They've been open less than a month so there were a couple of minor glitches with the service (wrong drink, appetizer came out after the entree) but food made up for those minor fixeable errors. We'll be back to try more to see who reigns supreme...Van Loi II or Rice Paper. read more

Heard about this place through a friend and it was fantastic. I got fried spring rolls and it's not the regular rice paper it's the one that you have to wet it first and that was yummmmmiii. The other rolls we got was the fresh rolls and everything in it was fresh and it complimented with peanut sauce that was good as well. The pho was good but not amazing and the pork 3 wat was a healthy portion and everything on that plate was amazing. Want to return to try other items on the menu. read more
