I had a bad experience from the start with administrative staff. Towards the end it started…read morebecoming a problem with Kim Munn. She is the director in case anybody doesn't know. When we had our open house the first year, we were told that our class was at 5:30. We were there and come to find out it was misinformation from staff. I had to talk to someone. They had her get in her ballet shoes and take a 6pm hip hop class instead of the class she was signed up for because they realized misinformation was given to me. Parking at the dance academy was poor most nights and inside was very crowded because technically the place is too small. When you ask about it they say they had two previous smaller buildings, they had a hard time getting into the spot they are in now and they would have to raise the cost on everybody. I told them well then we are always going to have this parking issue. I would open my Daughters classroom door to pull my child to the side and correct her or ask her why is she upset. We would talk it out and go back to class. I was told I was wrong for that. I'm not spending money with a dance academy and my child not show me or even attempt to show me what she learned. I guess several people don't understand that because they allow babies to get costumes and dance on stage for recitals. These kids don't even want to be in dance. I teach my daughter to follow directions, try her best and pop practice. We have been there for 2 1/2 years. The previous two years I had great reviews from teachers. What happens this year. My Daughter did what she was supposed to do. I was told all year that she doesn't have enough coordination ...blah, blah, blah. On recitals my Daughter showed out and danced way better than any of the girls on stage. She dances better even when I am watching he on the videos for classes. 2023 Winter Recital was crap for the family and many others. You have families asking why they can't buy tickets. They sold out before they could let all families buy tickets. They had to wait longer to buy. Many people didn't have any seats. Families were complaining. It's not fair to get crap viewing as after already putting a lot of money into the dance academy and for costumes and everything else before even buying tickets. My Husband wasn't able to see his daughter dance on stage at all. Why not change where you are having it? They are getting some kind of deal with that room they already bought. As much money as that dance academy makes there should be no issue to moving to a different venue or room. Somewhere where all parents get a seat at an incline so everybody can see their child(ren) dance. Tell me how if you go on the ticket sight for recitals right at the day and time they tell you can buy tickets that the first several rows are already taken and the only ones you can get are behind the first several rows, closer to general seating for a reserved seat. They put my daughter in two different shows which meant we had to buy two sets of tickets and not all of my family could go because I wasn't asking for two payments from my family. Then they told me the second set of tickets gets reimbursed to my account. Like, no. You can reimburse me to my hand and they tried to argue with me telling me that's their policy. It was not in my account when I paid for the tickets and you cannot tell me how to spend my money. I make my payments and my account was not delinquent. I need my money back in my hand. I did not tell at staff cuss or break things or make any threats but the director and the other staff say they are nervous. I bring up my first amendment right. They used parent staff interaction to judge rather or not a child goes into any workshops. They are refunding me for costumes and told me to keep them. Saying it's best for everybody. I told her to tell my Daughter that and she said she won't because she said I will and one day I'll realize how my actions affect my Daughters performance or participation.

I did business with the Iowa branch. I designed eight dancewear garments for the business owner. I…read morespent months creating these custom pieces. I did patternwork, which I didn't charge her for and paid one of my employees to assist with designing the garments. As time progressed upon working on the project, there was a lot of changes and confusion about what needed to be done. I had to come out of my pocket to purchase supplies, especially trim, which she never paid me for. Upon completion of the project, I didn't receive my final payment. She claims she wasn't pleased with my work, but we had an agreement and I have proof in text where she promised to pay. She was very disrespectful towards me and I have yet to receive my payment. I wouldn't suggest doing any business with her, even if it is signing your children up for the company. I wish I could upload the text and emails that were sent. I lost so much doing business with her.
