TL;DR: Marizen is NOT a lawyer. She is a Legal Document Assistant that cannot provide you with legal advice. She is a significantly affordable option for a Living Trust but she is unprofessional and has poor attention to detail-- key characteristics that are paramount to detailing an important document. Details: I left a Living Trust inquiry via her site and Marizen emailed me back within 1 day to "text" her back for a scheduled over-the-phone consult. Upon speaking with Marizen it was clear she did not take the time to review the few questions I had sent her in my initial inquiry as she was confused as to what the consult would primarily be regarding. Her rates were significantly less than what other competing services were offering which raised an orange flag for me. Upon further research, I realized Marizen was NOT a lawyer, but rather a "Legal Document Assistant (LDA)." According to the CA Attorney General, LDAs cannot give legal advice. This was my first encounter with an LDA, which allowed me the opportunity to do the necessary research to make a more educated investment. Had Marizen gotten back to me with the necessary next steps and questionnaire as she had promised (it's been over 1.5 weeks), I may have considered her as a possible option to complete my Living Trust needs. But if you are looking for a more affordable option, perhaps Marizen is a good fit for you.

Mr. Doyle was the first attorney that set up a time to talk to me that night. He was very prompt, answered all my questions and told me that he would take my case. For the next several months Mr. Doyle picked up my call or called me right back every time I called him. He talked to me when I thought I could not go on any longer. This completely unprofessional dude came highly recommended from an attorney I was already working with. So I felt comfortable calling them. As a licensed professional, this hearing and criminal charge was a big deal and could have had huge impacts on my life and career. I spoke to him on a Monday or a Tuesday and I had a hearing scheduled for the following Monday. He wanted the entire fee upfront. I simply didn't have all of it. I told him I could give him a substantial down payment and could pay him the entire fee within a couple weeks. He explained how he had such respect for my profession as he had worked in my field in the past. He assured me he was with me and was going to help me. He told me he would call my by the end of the week with a payment arrangement he would accept. So I relaxed. I didn't call anyone else. By Friday I hadn't heard from him. I was very anxious but I just trusted he would keep his word. After all, he was a recommendation from another attorney with whom I liked and had experience with. On Saturday, I tried to call his office because I had received no communication from his office whatsoever. No calls. No emails. Nothing. So I was able to find another attorney on a weekend who took my case and she was amazing. This guy began calling me Monday morning at the same time the hearing was taking place. He did not do what he said. He lied to me. He ignored my situation. His communication is so unprofessional that it is non-existent. If you value yourself, your case, your money, your time, and your respect, run as fast as you can away from this law firm!!
