I had trouble placing my order from the get-go and it wasn't until after I had to call Rhode Island Novelty to get my address to correctly show up in my account, that I was able to place my order. (This was quite a hassle to begin with, so the red flags should've went up then & there.) I ordered a package of 100 rubber ducks and when they arrived, I received only 97 in the box. (I was doing a promotion with my business that was awarded 100 winners, so I thought this would be perfect, and now I have to go find three more to make my contest to be as advertised at my event.) I first wrote an e-mail, which was never acknowledged, and so I called customer service to inquire about getting the missing ducks. I was told that they could not send me the missing items and that they would just refund my credit card for the missing items. I still haven't gotten my refund as of yet (and it's been a week since I contacted them.) Will probably not order from again if this is their standard practice of doing business. read more

I worked for RI Novelty many years ago, when they were located in Johnston. What a horrible place to work. The managers were awful people and the crap they sold was just junk from China. When 9/11 happened, I was working that day, and they wheeled a tv out into the room where all the customer service people were, and we were on the phones trying to take orders for this junk and help customers who were complaining all while watching the towers fall on tv. I would give 0 stars if I could. I'm a latina woman who recently came to the USA to start a new life. Because of this, I decided to buy a small gift for myself because I was proud of myself. They didn't have the plush I wanted so they said they could get it from the back. They grabbed the wrong one and I politely corrected them. They began all screaming at me and eventually called ICE after finding out about my story. They then proceeded to find the correct plush and give it to a white woman. Horrible. read more

I host a public Easter Egg Hunt at a small nonprofit museum in Southern California and received word last week that a local news station is going to promote it on air. Yay! But... panic quickly set in as I thought about the expectedly larger turnout this year! Had to call Rhode Island Novelty! We always order our eggs and trinkets from RIN and it always arrives quickly with great customer service to assist. This year was no different, but turns out they were in the middle of a snowstorm! The RIN rep DeeDee told me there may be a delay due to a snowstorm. I told her I understood and I hoped she was staying warm. She then told me they were snowed in and staff had spent the night there! What! While in distress, I could hear her smile over the phone... she was still professional and focused on making our Egg Hunt a success! Totally blows my mind! I've always been happy with the service here, but this is above and beyond! The packages arrived three days ahead of schedule, and I'm so grateful! I hope y'all are back at home, safe and warm! Be aware what they send you price in flyer (Fall 2021 Medical Edition), they charge you more than it is listed in it. Excuse given to me was they got it in more price and have to charge us more even though it is listed in catalog. read more

I have been ordering festival prizes from RI for many years and been very satisfied! But the last couple years I've been disappointed with the number of items you did not have in stock. Last year I had to call 3 times to get what I needed. I will be placing another order next week and I hope it works out better than last year or I may consider finding another vendor. read more

I needed bandanas, like huge amounts of bandanas. I didn't want to spend a fortune, but I also wanted to try to but then from a local company. I have then a call to place the order and picked them up that afternoon. The staff was incredibly friendly and it was incredibly convenient. There is a showroom to check out all their wares and, I believe, they will get your order ready on site. read more

This company is not cheap anymore. They markup shipping costs over 20% for UPS, we compared it using our UPS with addresses and they refuse to use our UPS account. We will not be buying here anymore and DO NOT make the same mistake! Buyer beware! read more

This company is horrible. I ordered my party supply and waited three weeks for them to arrive. After they did not arrive called the company and told them so they said that is was delivered according to Fed Ex. My party was 10 days away so I asked them if they will deliver my supplies but they said and I will have to reorder them which I did because I had no other choice at this point. They started an investigation and one month later they still did not know if I would get reimbursed and did not know what is going on. I ended up giving up and called my credit card company to deal with. They are extremely unprofessional and unhelpful. Never again I will deal with them. read more

I will NEVER order from this company again. My fiancé and I ordered glow sunglasses, glow bracelets and beads for our wedding. We received our shipment and NONE of the bracelets had connectors included and the glasses need to be put together (which it does not state on their website). When my fiancé called in to speak with customer service they told him that the connectors should have been included with the bracelets and they offered to ship them out to us free of charge (the only positive aspect of this whole situation). We asked about returning the glow glasses as we cannot use them for our wedding since they need to be put together and we will not have the time to do that. They told us that we couldn't return the two UNOPENED, COMPLTELY SEALED boxes of glasses and that we needed to keep them. My DJ recommended them to us and I have also let them know about the situation I ran into with this company and how I am less than happy with the service.
