They were prompt to come do my estimate plus were very professional plus cleaned up after their work.

There are pluses and minuses here. Rhino sent out fliers that specified a percentage discount. I believe it was 30%. I had a few trees that had died, and I wanted to get them down before they fell, and while I could afford it. I called thinking I might schedule an estimate later in the week and mentioned I got a flier in the mail. I told them what I needed done and, to my surprise, they said they would send someone right over. That impressed me. (First plus!) The individual came over, I took him out to look at the trees, and he quoted me $3,500. Then he said, and he did say it after the quote, that it would be difficult for them to get equipment in to remove the debris. (First minus) Now, I have some open area behind my property, not much, but it's enough. So I said I'd be okay with it if they cut it up and set it on the other side of a culvert in the back. So we shook hands and he said his guys would come right over, that evening. (Second plus!) So, I went inside to get the flier, since it said to present during estimate, and so I could have the discount applied. However, when I came back out he had already left. So, I called the number I called at first and explained that he left before I could present the flier for a discount. Now, I can't be certain, but it seemed like a bit of a bait-and-switch when she told me, "the discount was already applied." Of course I mentioned that I never presented the flier, so how could he know. She assured me she told him about the discount when she called him and told him to come. I couldn't argue and say she didn't, but I didn't like that. (Second minus?) Side note: Maybe it's just me, but if I get a quote where no discount is mentioned, it doesn't feel like I got a real discount. I'm just used to getting a quoted price that's usually followed with, "but with the discount it will be..." But maybe that's my personal opinion. Anyway, they sent numerous guys over, all very experienced, and they got the job done very quickly! (Third plus!) I could not talk to them because none of them spoke English, and they didn't exactly put the debris where I'd wanted it. And, when they were done, they had to call the estimator to speak with me about whether they were done or not. I really should have asked them to cut up the debris a little more and put it further back, but it's my fault I didn't. (Third, fourth, and fifth minus) The final plus with Rhino is that they took check, Venmo, or Zelle transfer. I didn't have a check, and Venmo is severely limited in how much can be paid, so I went with the Zelle transfer. I did not have to give them any personal banking information since my bank has Zelle. Unfortunately, after they'd left, I discovered my bank limits Zelle to $1,000 a week. Here's the plus, Rhinos was patient with my issue, and let me pay them over the next few weeks, and I called each time I made a payment. Ironically, after I'd finished paying, they did try to call and say they were sending someone over to collect payment since I hadn't paid yet. (Sort of a minus) But, I was able to tell them the dates, times, and quantities, as well as referred them to my calls with them. They did look it up and saw that I was paid up. Then they apologized and said they confused me with someone else. So, would I recommend them if asked? Maybe, but I'd tell the person my pluses-and-minuses story too. They did cut down the trees I wanted cut down, and even cut them up some. read more

Stay away from this company. Very shady. They gave me a quote on pine trees and continued asking me if they could do the job. It felt like harassment at one point when I told them no and they kept calling. The price kept changing and I couldn't trust them. Called a local business instead. read more

They failed to show up twice. No reason was given for the first time. The second time their truck supposedly broke down. That was the same excuse they gave a neighbor two weeks ago. The ten "testimonials" on their website are all word for word identical. read more

These guys went above and beyond with our project! They are very professional and courteous to everyone around, including the neighbors! Check the receipts in the photos. Quoted $1300 to (actual quote) "Cutting down 1 oak tree, leaving the limbs, hauling away all the logs Leaving 1 10 ft long log". That's the actual scope of work from the signed agreement. Here is what actually happened: A crew of about 10 showed up at 0730. 1 person went up the tree and 1 person handled the lower lines. The remainder of the crew wandered around my property, taking videos/photos, messing with kid's toys, my garden fence and chicken coops. (I was in my shed getting my chainsaw ready for cutting when I saw all this directly.) When I came home from work around 845, I noticed the crew playing with an ax I have in the garden. I also keep 2 old busted bb gns out there. 1 of the crew was really taking interest in my crossman pellet gn. Showing it around and explaining it some someone else. This gn was stolen. In less than two hours they dropped the top of the tree all over my border ligustrums, tearing a hole in the border. They piled the logs under branches so it looks like they just left branches (according to scope of work), stole one of the guns by our garden and didn't haul out a single log. Not one. The only thing they took off the property was the gn unfortunately. They all just drove away once complete. I was surprised because it was a completely unfinished job. About 15 minutes later, someone shows up to collect payment and just says, "All good"? It was not all good. Check the photos. They did nothing they said they would. When I showed the payment collector the agreement and scope of work, he couldn't understand my English or read what the paper said. I was trying to explain what he should have done per the agreement. Got no where. Called their main line to tell them what's happening and it was a mess. I kicked the guy off the property until I found out what happened to my property. Someone came by later and said they would finish the work. I really just wanted it to be done and didn't want to call out another crew to fix their mistakes so I let them back on the property to do the job they were supposed to. Even after a retry, they didn't do the work. They hid logs under branches and still left the spar too long. The gun also never showed back up. They offered $75 off price to cover cost of gn. I never got it back. They came back and removed *some logs. Check the photos. They hid the logs so they wouldn't have to haul them. 10 people and two working and they couldn't do the work. Unfortunately, I will no longer seek to support this community as an ally and I believe that should be clear in understanding. This was terrible. I do not recommend Rhino's in Augusta, GA. Make sure you put EVERYTHING away and check their work the whole time. I feel scammed. They still got paid though so I guess I'm the idiot here I guess. read more
