It was a pretty large project and I'm a pretty picky person, so I wanted to be sure that I was getting the best quality at a fair price. They did a FANTASTIC job! They built a pretty large double tier retaining wall in a steep slope, leveled the top part of the yard to make it usable, graded the entire backyard, brought in sod, ran irrigation, filled the beds with soil for my garden, and pinestrawed a very large area. I was impressed with their attention to detail, their professionalism, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, their communication. The owner went above and beyond to answer every question and thoroughly communicate every step of the way. He also offered several recommendations mid-project that I'm glad he brought up because they really added to the final appearance and functionality. I recommend Ideal Landscapes 100% and will definitely use them again in the future. As an added bonus worth mentioning, they cleaned up the worksite each day and made sure the road and front yard was tidy after working each day. They also repaired every place their equipment drove over in the front yard back to perfect condition.

Initial estimate was over $2000 higher that three other companies. They came back and offered something more reasonable and kept checking back. ( over period of about a week). When I finally accepted their more reasonable offer, they tried to tell me that quote was only good that day cause their were in the area that day. Another lie - their first quote and follow up more reasonable offer was given relatively late in the day - no way they could have started work that day and no mention of the more reasonable offer being based on them being " in the area". Only when I said I would accept their more reasonable offer - take it or leave were they willing to honor their more reasonable offer. No discussion of discounts at that time. Told them I needed to see in writing their documents for license/insured/ bonded and quote/ scope before starting work. they started work without presenting any of this. by the time I got home from work - they were wrapping up. 35% coupon came in the mail before they started work and after we agreed upon a price and scope - talking about a two day window here. The coupon is meant to get their foot in the door. from other reviews -looks like they routinely will not honor it. When I presented the coupon - they refused to honor it. Claimed it was "included" in the original quote - absolute lie. Some of the workers were drinking beer while working - high risk work and alcohol not a good mix. Get it in writing up front. happily no one got hurt.

We did our due diligence and also got quotes from other local companies but in the end we chose to use Southern Grind Stump And Tree Removal because of their professionalism and fair pricing. Because the rain had them backed up (and my yard is a slippery hill), we were scheduled 2 weeks out to have the work done. They kept in contact with me during that time frame to let me know we were still on schedule for that date. On the day they removed the tree they arrived promptly and got to work immediately. I was expecting 1 or 2 trucks but they came with a whole fleet of vehicles, workers, tools and equipment. The job was done thoroughly and without further damage to my fence. They were polite and professional on site. They also did a great job cleaning up all the debris afterward. John, one of the foreman who works for Jon, was ready to provide us an extremely reasonable quote and lower than the competitors. He let us know approximately when they would start and how long it would take. They called the day before to keep us updated. They started early and stayed until it was completed. They did an amazing job!! We had just had some landscaping done in our front yard which surrounded an old oak that had lost a huge limb. We needed the tree taken down as it was hollow. Tre, (who was the foreman for our job) and his crew did an amazing job as well as we're meticulous about the new landscaped area. We were just in awe of how Tre's team could drop huge limbs from a tree without injury to the surrounding lawn. Our neighbors even commented on how clean the lawn looked! They took 6 pine trees down for us and ground them down to a point that unless you knew there were trees there, you would not know anything was removed. Also, we had a very small magnolia tree next to one of the pines and they expertly were able to keep it. We also had a beach gum tree nestled next to a cedar. Hoping we could keep the cedar and cut and grind out the beach gum, Jon (the owner) was able to do that And also grind the stump nicely down.
