2 years ago I signed contract for replacement of 8 windows. 23k dollars. At the time I was told the…read morecompany had trained installers and a top notch warranty on the windows along with being energy star triple pain windows. Company called January said the windows were In and are scheduled to be put in 19th. Really the winter I asked if it could be a spring install I was told no. So install in January... Guy showed up said he was a sub contractor from Minneapolis he brought 2 helpers. I watched the first window get removed they were not careful damage to my trim from hammer, prying and a saw. I called the company but never got a call back. The install was horrible they didn't use a level, they didn't use a water barrier the windows you could see they tipped inward and they did not have window stops. Two months later window cracks...and the battle begins for the company to stand behind the warranty. Spring came windows would not open the windows did not seal properly. The big window in the living room pops all day long. Called company again they requested pictures of all the issues. Company wanted to see the issues set appointment they no showed and didn't call ...twice. recall on the cranks drought out a crew where I showed them the issues with the window they made some adjustments but didn't help much sprayed a lubricant on the windows that wouldn't open. To me that's not a fix. Company came out again to investigate the install...4 months later said windows are being re ordered because they were not installed properly. I got notifications the windows are in and would be installed in the spring....here we are in June no appointment scheduled and the company does not return phone calls. I just get the answer there isn't anyone in your area to install the windows. REALLY! That should have been discussed being an issue when I purchased the windows. I read reviews and seen the negative reviews and talked to the sails person about them and got this as an answer. "Deborah you have my word you will be taken care of if you have issues with the windows. The warranty is there for your piece of mind. " 2 years and windows that still don't operate properly when it's the companies hired installers that didn't do it correctly in the first place. 23k out the window... 3 of the windows have damage between the glass.. Buyers do your homework listen to others experiences company will tell you the reviews are not true or don't pertain to your area. YES the reviews are correct. If I could post pictures in this review I would.

The gentleman seemed attentive when we stopped in to get a quote and told us to expect to hear from him within about a week. We never received our quote, so we reached back out, and still have not received our quote, a message, or a callback. We would have loved to give our business to Minardi, but have since told others we recommend elsewhere.

We experienced…read morepoor customer service from them 6 years ago when having windows installed and considered not using them this time around, but they are one of the fewer Marvin dealers in town so we decided to give them another try. They were very attentive to us right up until our order was placed and they received their deposit check. We were given a week about 5 weeks out when the windows would be installed, and when they had not called by mid-week when they were due, I called to inquire about the status. Spoke with Al and he told me that they were behind schedule. No one had bothered to notify us of this. He said he'd speak with the installers and would call me back to let me know when the windows would be installed. I explained that this was a time-sensitive matter as we had contractors who needed to do work right after the windows would be installed and they wanted to do their work soon as the weather was turning cold. Al never called back. I phoned again the next day and spoke with Jerry, who could give me no information about the installation but promised to call me back at the end of the day with information. He never did. I called the next day and went through the same process with Jerry - he promised to return my call by the end of the day and did not. Finally got ahold of Kevin and explained my frustration and several days later they sent over an installer who informed us that it would be "a week or two" before he could get to our job. He was not the regular installer and said he had only just been called by Hermantown Lumber to do the job. Clearly, Hermantown Lumber did not actually book our job with the installers ahead of time but only made the call a week after the windows were supposed to be installed in the first place. We were told the job would take one day. The installer was in and out of our house, tracking dirt everywhere, leaving his tools and trash all over, for more than two weeks installing the windows. He reported that the windows hadn't been measured accurately and said he had trouble getting them to fit. He sanded extra trim to fit in the windows and left sawdust over all surfaces. In the bathroom the toothbrushes and towels were covered with sawdust, in addition to the floor and vanity. Meanwhile, the wrong hardware had been brought for the windows, many of the grates that were supposed to be painted were not, and some grates did not fit in the windows. All of this meant more time. It was a solid month before the job was done and just after the Hermantown Lumber rep finished installing the hardware on the last day, he wanted me to cut him a check on the spot rather than handing me a bill so I could mail a check. The whole experience was a nightmare, from the awful customer service to the lateness of the install to the installer taking weeks and leaving dirt and junk all over the house to the mishaps with the grates and hardware. It's true that there is not a lot of competition in town for Marvin windows but if we ever need another one, we will go anywhere but Hermantown Lumber.
