One window they installed they did a average job with no problems. However when they installed my bathroom window it was done extremely poorly had to come out and fix it. The installers had a very nasty attitude. They left a mess in my dog run with nails in wood. They're lack of professionalism was apparent. I've never been spoken to like that by an installer in my own home. Although I'm a disabled veteran I am not going to be pushed around by someone in my own house. They were paid to do a job and they failed to do it properly. The installer claimed that he did not remove the window that he was replacing and I did not understand what he was saying. If not him and his crew then who removed the window. The job was done in haste and with lack of experience in one of the installers. read more

Covid delayed the start but once the windows and door showed up the crew did a fabulous job. Professional craftsmanship and timely completion. Siding crew did a great job in making the house look new. I believe if Covid had not hit, the job would have been started as scheduled and completed on time. Poor quality materials. This is the $1900 awning at my parents (both in their 80s) house in Duluth after approx 1 winter. The ribs on the their front awning have buckled from the snow after less than a year and they have no recourse. All phone phone calls to Grumdahl Window and Siding were fruitless as they just kept responding that there was nothing they could do. The awning looks terrible and will need to be replaced. They did all the windows in our home and I had a slight problem about a year later with one of them, and they sent someone out to replace it quickly and efficiently. They are now re-siding our garage and it looks beautiful. I felt bad for them because the old siding was put up with tree times the nails that is normal, and no backing which is code. Les Grumdahl completed projects for me on two different properties for many years. The projects include gutters, soffit, facia and the biggest project was replacement of the siding with seamless steel siding, custom sized windows, wrapping trim, blown insulation and a new storm door. Their workmanship is very good in my opinion. I had an issue with the soffit installation on a porch and they came back to repair it at no cost to me. On another occasion I needed someone that would use care to install coax cable on the exterior of the building they installed seamless siding on and Ryan came thru and sent someone over to professionally route/secure the cable to ensure there were no leaks. They seem to be very busy and I have found that there is some time between signing an agreement and getting the project completed. read more

Les Grumdahl is the biggest jerk and worst business man I have ever met I would never do business with him he is a big bully. He gave me a quate for job and charged me a extra 1000 scamming us . Also workers knocked a faucet off the house and he was trying to say we did it so he wouldn't have to pay. Also he was supposed to Start working on the house in the summer and didn't show up until xmas eve and started pulling off the siding. Don't do business with he's awful to work for. Currently my mom is trying to get the siding that they said would be done in June 2019. They will not call her back and she put down of the money needed for the project. When they put in windows for her house, they "mis-measured" her giant living room window so they put in wood to make up for the difference that looks absolutely awful. They didn't apologize or discount anything. She is not online so I am posting this review on her behalf. She tries to only use local companies for home improvement projects but this one has been nothing but disappointment and headaches. I contacted this company for a custom door install. It took several calls to get them out to do the measurements. I never received a quote or a call back. I called back asking for a callback and again two weeks have passed and no response. If you can't provide a simple callback, I'm not sure how you'd trust this company to do your windows, doors or roofs. read more

When we were dealing with them to purchase windows and installation, they were very helpful. Once the installation was "completed" and there were concerns to be addressed, the tone changed drastically. The receptionist was always nice to me when I talked with her, but our salesman and even the owner - Les - were very irritated, somewhat disrespectful and condescending in their tone towards us and our concerns. One of the issues we experienced was that the workers started to take out a window that we were not replacing. The trim piece that they put around the window was not mitered to match the other window trims - they just put up pieces with squared edges. Even the "repair" of that issue is not done neatly or correctly. There were other issues, but rather than going into each one, I will sum it up with this...........I wish I knew back then what I know now. I would have definitely chosen to pay more money somewhere else to receive quality service that demonstrated a pride in their work and a respect for us as customers. read more

Worst experience of building my new home. Showed up two months late. Don't return phone calls. They finally showed and put defective siding on entire home. One guy quits first day on my siding project. Then I hear yeah we can't get anyone to work for us because owners are not so nice of people let's just say. Tells me everyone quits to go to ABC seamless. Found out after installation and having another contractor look over my house that there seamless machine wasn't aligned properly. Of course grumdahls blamed it on bad material. That's there standard protocol to blame others. after talking with material manufacturer the material tested negative for defects. Had to take them to court to get anything done. After court my entire home had to be resided. Got the middle finger from Les grumdahl while he entered the court room. The guy is a real class act. Trust me. Pay the extra few thousand and have ABC seamless do your siding. I would give that money three times over after what I went through. read more
