There's no wait staff, so you order at the bar, which fits the laid-back atmosphere. Our food arrived in about 20 minutes, which was no problem at all since we had cold drinks and plenty of conversation to keep us occupied. I ordered The Melt, Pepi's take on a classic patty melt, with a side of crispy wedge fries. What impressed me most was how incredibly hot and fresh the burger was -- it tasted like it had come straight off the grill. The fries were thin-cut, crisp, and not overdone, exactly as advertised. The staff was warm and accommodating, and even on a quiet Monday afternoon, the experience did not disappoint. I'd wholeheartedly recommend Pepi's for anyone looking for a relaxed meal and a good place to catch up with friends.

Basically every screen in the place was must-watch TV and the bartender -- understandably distracted, perhaps -- decided that was the ideal moment to restock straws and cut fruit. We waited. In the heat. Our server was genuinely good when he materialized, which wasn't as often as we'd have liked. Food: the cheese curds earned their reputation. The Mekts burger was fine -- solid, no complaints. The Reuben rolls, however, arrived looking exactly like what they were: a Sysco product plated with minimal ceremony. Hard pass next time. As for the name -- if you're picturing a dock, pilings, maybe a gull or two -- walk outside and squint hard past the road and the rooftops. Big lake's out there somewhere. Technically. The restaurant is quite spacious and located on the second level of the building. There are options to sit inside, outside but covered, or outside. The marina and Lake Michigan add the experience with great views from the deck area. Our server was very nice. She was super attentive, and we really appreciated her checking back in for refills, napkins, etc. The food was actually the highlight of my experience. I got the garlic shrimp skewers which came with a Hawaiian roll, Cole slaw and a side (I chose a baked potato). My partner got the prime rib dip with hush puppies. Didn't have a chance to take a pic of the cheese curds before they were devoured! Only downside is the place is VERY noisy. Everytime someone who move a chair, the scraping sound was otherworldly. They are metal chairs on a concrete/gravel flooring. Not ideal. And waitstaff was constantly dropping things and running into each other or the chairs/tables. That was a bit chaotic. However, the food was great and so were the views. They also have live music (they had wrapped up before we got there today). I'd definitely come back (maybe sit inside near an area where you can look out on the lake).

Based on this experience, I do not plan to return. Thank you for your time.
