History
Established in 2011.
In (2003) Mike Aus left his position in the Rydell Management Company and purchased Rhinelander Auto Center, at the time consisting of just the two main stores. In (2011) Detail Pro's was added to the family, both to serve the growing needs of the dealership's sales volume and also to serve the community. (2012) Ok Used Cars was opened to satisfy the large demand for more economical used cars. In (2013) we began construction on the new Toyota facility, having long outgrown the old building. (2013) Recognizing the lack of anywhere else locally to purchase aftermarket accessories, we opened AutoGear as a retail accessory outlet. (2013), Mike offered to Dan Towne and his family an invitation to join him in Colorado where he furthered his career by assisting with the purchase of our sister store, Durango Motor Company. Once the store was established, Dan returned in (2016) overseen Rhinelander Auto Center's day-to-day operations as general manager, before becoming owner in December (2018).
Meet the Business Owner: Daniel T.
Car-dealer success stories are plentiful, and they come in many forms. There are up-through-the-ranks guys such as Dan Towne, who was an entry-level salesman at Rhinelander Auto Center in the early 2000s, but over the course of 15 years, worked his way to the top. Dan is a proud Rhinelander native. Dan credits his start in the car business to his father-in-law who worked at a local dealership and encouraged him to apply. By 2013, Dan and his family moved to Colorado where he furthered his career by assisting with the purchase of our sister store, Durango Motor Company, and building it from the ground up over the course of 3 years. Once the new store was established, Dan returned a final time to Rhinelander in 2016 overseeing Rhinelander Auto Center's day-to-day operations as general manager for two and a half years, before becoming owner in December 2018. Rhinelander Auto Center's values and philosophy remain the same. He remains committed to Rhinelander and the local communities.
