At the age of 65 I am hesitant to go under anesthesia, especially for an elective surgery. So when…read moreI went into Dr. Blanton's office to discuss my saline implants and how one had deflated recently I knew I was going to choose the least invasive option. Dr. Blanton's office staff makes you feel so at ease. Keely on the phone is so warm and friendly. You feel as if you have known her for a while. When Dr. Matthew Blanton's walked in I felt almost immediately that he is the right doctor to handle my situation. We discussed options for removing the existing implants totally and doing nothing cosmetically and how that would look as i age into my 70s. Dr. Blanton's went through videos of other patients with similar situations and other options which included a breast lift after the removal of the implants. He also offered replacing the implants with new ones and was transparent in the fact that, in the future, there is a high probability that one or both would deflate again and need attention. He spent almost a full hour listening to me, hearing the anxiety in my voice over anesthesia at my age, and truly weighing the best options for my body, age, and current physical health status. Then Summer joined Dr. Blanton's for my physical exam to confirm our pathway forward. I felt so comfortable with my new team that I inquired about extra skin removal in my abdomen area. Whichever way I go with Dr. Blanton's and his team of professionals, just the implant removal with breast lift or add in the abdominal skin/fat fix, I am confident that I have chosen the best doctor to attend to my needs with a team of dedicated health care workers who will see me through successfully from pre-op to post-op and through my rehabilitation. I have now had my breast implant removal surgery and breast lift as of 9/25. I made the BEST choice for sure. My surgery team was nothing short of spectacular. From my anesthesiologist to my care team, every single one of them was experienced and kind. Dr. Blanton has a great and caring bedside manner and his skill as a surgeon is surpassed by none. Thank you all. My post op care was very solid. I followed every instruction and healed perfectly. I am 8 weeks after my surgery and back to my physical regimen. Loving life and glad I had this done at 65 and not 75!

The whole office staff is just as friendly and very accommodating as he is. He has a very friendly personality and takes him time making sure you know everything. He shows you plenty of pictures, different aspects of the procedure, and answers all questions you have. His nurse Lisa that helped through the whole process is great too. The day of surgery he took his time before going through what was needed and made sure I had no last minute questions and called the night of surgery to make sure I was okay. I am thrilled with the job he has done and how little bruising that I have! I recommend him to anyone needing any plastic surgery!

If you are an African-American woman, chances are.you're left lopsided and uneven. You'll be told it's the swelling, it will go down. Four of us that have paid between $17,000 and $22,000 for procedures and we all are left uneven, unsatisfied, pudgy, and the list goes on. You would think after paying all this money and recognizing that there is a trend with one of their most prestigious doctors, they would want to rectify this issue. When signing the paperwork, yes there is a disclaimer that says each bodytype is different. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you are unhappy with your results, you will be charged $2500 for a revision surgery. Last I checked, there is a clear difference between being unhappy and unsatisfied with your results versus a doctor, leaving female patients and a state such as this. You would think before assigning doctors to cases, they would look at the demographics for the patients. Clearly, Dr. Smith is, not that will verse when he comes to African-American women as patient. There is no such thing as a coincidence, no reason why each of us are uneven on one side, no reason why each of us are left with a pouch. I can only imagine how many other women are out there that we have not come across that are experiencing this. When making the issue known to Sonobello, I was told unfortunately yes you still have to pay. Now why would I give an establishment additional money to fix something that they did not get correct the first time. So now I'm gonna take the additional $2500 that they want me to give them for something that they did not do right and just find another surgeon that is well-versed in this area to fix the work of this doctor. When bringing this to the attention of the office, your dad giving a runaround about oh he's retiring in October now he's returning in August. No, he can't talk to the doctor to discuss your satisfaction. It's just a constant runaround. They're quick to take your money paint a great picture on their commercials and website. But unfortunately, not the case do your research ladies and gentlemen.

I go to Blue Water Spa, the medical spa he owns. I wanted to stay ahead of aging issues, so I got a consultation for a facelift. This man took so much time with me, answered all of my questions and he actually told me that I really didn't need a facelift! He asked about all of my concerns and I pointed out all the things that bothered me. Based on my concerns, and his evaluation, I ended up getting liposuction of the chin and an upper blephoplasty which is just a little skin from the upper eyelid removed. The change is weirdly both subtle and dramatic. My eyes are opened up more, and my jawline is perfection. My recovery was not painful at all and I could not believe how fast I was back to my normal routine. There are no visible scars as he made incisions in the regular creases. My eyes were puffy and red for about four or five days. I never even had bruises. I just wore large sunglasses for a week. People asked me about makeup or skin care. I just look better but I don't look like I've had surgery. I am so happy with my results. I think I can put off surgery for quite a few years, but when it is time for a facelift, I know exactly where to go!

This was to be able to pull the skin in both directions to avoid having to move my belly button and then have a fourth vertical incision. The surgery was not a success. I was left with an apron of skin along my bikini line. By breast were pulled down by the incisions underneath them that I then had stretch marks on my chest between my breasts. It also pulled my beasts down so that my nipples point down instead of forward. When I went back for my check up he tried to pass off the apron of skin as something that would resolve by itself but I refused to accept that. He made me feel like I was being ridiculous and picky for not being satisfied. He agreed to revise the tummy tuck by making a much wider incision and pulling down the loose skin hit by doing that he ended up having to move my belly button. He said he could fix my breasts but I would have to pay for a breast lift. At the end I am left with drooping breasts, incisions underneath them, a vertical incision on my stomach ( no bikinis for me), and having to pay another $1,400 to cover his cost for anesthesia for the second surgery. He couldn't care less. He just wanted me gone and for me to stop complaining. Next month I am having my breast lifted and a new tummy tuck to fix all this mess. Buyer beware.

This is the result of the breast implant surgery performed in December 2020 by cosmetic surgeon…read moreAmber Allen of Allen Aesthetics in Raleigh, NC. Dr. Allen refused to revise at her expense, she also did not refund my money, and finally, when I took legal action, she refused consent for her insurance to compensate me in any way. It cost me $6000 for the original surgery by Dr. Allen and another $18,500 to revise by a reputable surgeon. I would recommend going elsewhere for surgical procedures. I want to start by saying that we are all human, and humans make mistakes. This is not about blame or vengeance. It's about taking accountability for mistakes and doing the right thing for patients. It's also about awareness to other women who are considering breast implants to do the research to find a skilled, reputable and board-certified plastic surgeon. In 2020 I had the best physique of my life, having just completed in a bodybuilding competition, and I wanted to enhance that with breast implants. I went from confident and proud to ashamed and depressed. Imagine looking at yourself in the mirror and this is what you see. It's called a severe double bubble. Even in clothes I looked like I had 4 breasts. I couldn't wear anything other than a sports bra. Furthermore, the implants had migrated so far laterally, that I couldn't move my arms forward past my torso without lifting them up over my breasts. There's more. The surgery deformed my areola and caused a loss of sensation to my nipples. I felt ashamed. I had wanted to improve my body and this is what I got. I felt guilty for not doing more research before hiring someone to perform the procedure. I didn't know that cosmetic surgeons are not the same as plastic surgeons; they have significantly less rigorous training compared to plastic surgeons. According to the revising physician (a highly reputable plastic surgeon), I will never be able to go under the muscle with implants again. I gave Dr. Allen the chance and plenty of time to make it right. She wanted to charge me to revise what is clearly bad work in the first place. I would expect a professional to take accountability for her mistakes and set higher standards for results that she leaves her patients. The right thing to do would have been to refund my money and refer me to a more skilled surgeon for the revision. I had to pay $18,500 to revise Dr. Allen's work. I hired an attorney to settle discreetly for part of the nearly $30,000 I lost by using Dr. Allen. She refused to even discuss the matter with my attorney. When the matters escalated to the insurance company, Dr. Allen yet again refused to allow her insurance company to compensate me. All I wanted was my body made right and my money back. Note that the 5/5 review for this practice is from the office manager...

My first encounter began with my consult for a breast implant replacement and lift. Over the past 6 years I have consulted with several doctors in NY (recently relocated here to NC), which resulted in only disappointing opinions of performing a lift. I am a more complicated case I will admit, however my visit with Dr. Allen absolutely left me with so much joy, optimism with a "yes" rather than a no. She was very thorough in explaining the difficulty and yes of course possible roadblocks that could occur with any such procedure, but never did I waiver from going forward with her. I am about 6 weeks out and it went incredibly well. I have the result I have always hoped for. My experiences at this office are not limited to Dr. Allen, as I have also had several procedures with Kyle. She is amazing and am always so thrilled with the results. She is incredibly careful and very precise in her treatments and always informative of what to expect prior and after each of them. Kyle has been a wonderful part of my ongoing quest to be the best version of myself that I can be. Now on to Ashley and Maxine! They are such warm and endearing ladies that complement all of what I have expressed here and are unwavering in their support and positivity! Never have I felt that I am just another patient, and am treated with such individuality, which in my experience is a rare occurrence. My journey will continue with these incredible ladies who I honestly consider my friends and recommend anyone seeking cosmetic procedures to meet with this Team, I am confident you will walk away with the same experiences I have had.
