I was told by RIDGID MONTHS ago to send our power drill here for repair under warranty, I even included pre-paid shipping for them to be able to do the repair and ship back. I have never; 1) received a callback confirming the receipt of the drill (UPS showed it as delivered, 2) received an email regarding the receipt or status of this drill, 3) no communication whatsoever. I was referred to this business by the manufacturer to pursue a warranty repair for a Ryobi portable gas powered generator. The circumstances of purchase and warranty were not questioned when I dropped the unit off. However, after two months and multiple follow up visits because they would not answer their phone so I could check status, I was finally called and told that the unit was ready for pick up. Upon arrival I was informed that there would be a charge of $174 dollars for what was supposed to be a routine warranty carburetor replacement authorized by Ryobi, yet I was told that my apparent lack of maintenance on the unit was the root cause for the problem of it not running properly. When I disputed this claim and noted that at no time was I notified that this was an out of warranty or unqualified service that would result in a charge I was treated rudely to the point of abusive language and told to leave the premises with my equipment and to not come back. Needless to say under the circumstances, I did just that. I fully suspect that they were trying to get service revenue out of me, but at the same time they were going to file warranty claim paperwork with Ryobi and essentially double dip, although that was not substantiated in any way. read more

I took a Rigid Power Tool in for service around 8 months ago. I called and called no-one would answer the phone. Well today July 3, 2024 I got a call from RG repair, their message was: "We are looked at some old tickets. I had back order parts seen. Here's been here quite a while. We're gonna file for replacement, but it looks like the model imperial was not registered of LSA. so it would not be cover under warranty and have no ETA anymore on when the motor and switch would be available for you." The message went on and on but it made no since. I called Rigid 6 months ago and they sent me a new tool for replacement as it was registered correctly. I received the new tool within 10 days of my call from Rigid. Never use RG for any type of repair. If you have a Rigid tool that needs repaired call Rigid direct and they can handle your repair problem within weeks for your request. Every detail RG left on the July 3 message was incorrect according to Rigid. read more

Dropped my push mower off March 8. Just got it back today which I thought was was a week or two longer than it should take. I called at least 25 times trying to get an update and only got through to an actual person 3 times indicating it was not done yet. The cost was around $70. I was expecting $50. A few add ins for fuel and oil that I thought would be included. I don't smoke but found a cig in bottom of mower trim when I first used it. See picture. So much for complimentary wipe down. I do have to say the mower runs great and the actual tune up work was great just took too long. I would consider taking the mower back again but need to allocate 2 months to be safe. read more

Had my mower serviced about a month ago, worked fabulously! Let neighbor borrow it and it took a poop. Took it back to them; they could have easily charged me (and actually said prob a carburetor issue) for a carburetor clean/replacement and I wouldn't have been the wiser but seriously upset if so. Instead, said it was just bad gas. Cleaned it up for no charge. That's integrity! Customer for life and you can't go wrong with Travis and team!!! read more

Holy Cow. There are still good, honest and respectable people out there. This gentleman is one of those people. The throttle on my mower wasn't working correctly. I took it in expecting to leave it with him for a few days. Obviously with mowers all over he is a bit busy. He helped me unload the mower. I started it up to show him what was going on. He went and got a socket wrench, made an adjustment to the idle. Fixed. Less than a minute he had it fixed. He showed me the adjustment setting. He would not take any payment. And he helped load my mower back into the truck. What a great guy. I recommend taking your machines to this guy. Definitely will take mine back if I need work done again. read more

Finally! A competent, honest repair shop. My 18" Craftsman chain saw was running fairly decent after 8 years of ownership, but the starter pull rope came out recently. The Sears parts location at 91st & Nieman advised it would be 10-14 days and the MINIMUM labor charge would be $89.00 plus parts! Just to reinstall a pull rope!! I found RG Small Engines on Yelp, and took the saw over to Rob. He had it ready in 4 working days, and the total was under $60.00....this included reinstalling the rope and a tune-up as well (plug change, blade sharpening, etc.). Will definitely bring my lawn mowers, trimmers/ edgers, etc. to him in the future. read more

I hadn't had my lawn mower serviced since I bought it 5 years ago and with all of the rain we were getting, I knew I was going to need to make sure that my lawn mower could handle the job. Wayne was very kind and did a great job of making my lawnmower like new again. Just make sure not to put off servicing your mower to the last minute, because the community knows the service here is top-notch and turn-around can leave your grass a bit tall if you don't plan accordingly. read more

Every spring we end up needing to have our mower tuned up and the blades sharpened (it's 14 years old). RG has always provided us with excellent service and the prices are very reasonable. But the best part about them is they are very honest and have never suggested any service that isn't totally necessary. That goes a long way in my book because we don't know anything about mowers so we are at their mercy! The only negative is that there can be a wait of several weeks so get your mower in early if you are taking it in at a peak time. read more

OUTSTANDING SERVICE!. I messed up my self propelled lawnmower when I tried to replace some parts. Engine would not start and had vicious kick back when I pulled starter cord. RG could have charged me an arm and a leg. THEY ONLY CHARGED ME $10! and had it fixed and running within days. I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

I kept getting a recorded message saying to "try again later". After a while, I had no choice but to call another company where someone actually answered the phone. My yard trimmer developed problems when I tried to pull the spark plug boot off. The entire cable top came apart I couldn't reconnect it. I stopped by RG small engine service and walked it in. I discussed the problem with Rob. He began the repair on the spot, with in 5 minutes another spark plug wire connector was installed. The new part is an improvement over the cheap factory piece. He said " no charge" I went ahead and left him cash anyway. Let me tell you this- Rob has the right idea about providing excellent customer service. I took my gas blower to this place. They called me 2 weeks later and said it was done. I owed $96.00. They did not call me with an estimate. Their web sight says they never do work without concent from the owner. I told them I was not going to pay because I had no prior notice. They said they would put my blower back to the way it was when I brought it in. I said that would be fine. The problem is they did more than that to my blower. They cut my gas lines and did something to the carburetor. This blower is less than a year old. I would highly recommend staying away from this shop. read more

I had a Honda mower that I took in because the blade came off while mowing! Although I don't believe it was anything RG Small Engines did while servicing it, I had never had this happen before. Travis looked over the mower and determined some stripped threads was probably the issue. He gave me an estimate of Approximately $220 to replace some parts and then tune up the mower. I questioned whether to spend the money on a mower that was aged. He said they don't make them like the one I had anymore but left the decision up to me. I decided to have him fix it based on that comment This spring I started the mower up and although hard to start, it seems to work fine for the first 10 minutes. But as I continued to mow the self-propelled feature began to slow and then the mower carburetor was so rough the mower eventually quit running. I took it back to their shop and got a call saying it now needs a new carburetor and not sure what is wrong with the self-propelled. He feels that is just my bad luck. Guess so.
