I've been coming here ever since I was a little girl. One request-- they used to have the BEST lemonade for you to walk around and sip while looking through the orchids. I wish they still did that but otherwise they have an amazing selection of orchids and even some other air plants. The location is lovely and peaceful I actually wish it was my backyard. The orchids were many and the workers super knowledgeable. There are some wonderfully rare hybrid orchids that were quite pricy and there were also some really great deals on some lovely orchid options. And everything in between. We were visiting from Ohio and decided to wander around this nursery. The had a gorgeous koi pond, with an amazing waterfall. The flowers were stunning and the pots were not badly priced. Most gorgeous orchid location in Homestead! I love going there just to walk around and gawk at the beauty. It is beautifully designed with inside and outside display/growing areas. They keep it immaculately clean. I specifically go there for my fertilizer. Jacks. I use it on all my flowering plants and love that the employees at RF advised me as to which one to buy! At this store they had plenty of pots and decorations for the patio and it was a zen place. I did not buy any orchids today because I resisted and besides this until I fix my gate my neighbor continues to steal my plants. I plan on coming back once I get a new fence with a lock. Recently on a day trip to the Redlands, a new friend and I found this PARADISE ON EARTH by accident. Thanks Yelp. My friend said, " can we try to find Orchids". I said " yeah, yelp can...on Yelp". We quickly found this. We stayed at TRU by Hilton off Chrome ( recommended). Well, we parked easily and then strolled the grounds. This is not a Kid Place because of the delicate nature if these plants. I'd keep my kids at the outdoor Pavillion with a snack. There is no cafe. No food. Sadly they dont have vending machines, they should offer a snack and cold drinks in a cooler. Easy money maker, add on! Anyway, we strolled the grounds. Immaculate. You can wear sandals here, smile. Most farms need boots. Here this is SHANG GRI LA. Well kep. Spa like. Clean, clean, clean. So many varieties. Large. Small. My friend knows orchids and he was in a candy store. I know beauty. I could have taken 10000 photos. Its a color bomb. An explosion. We are going to their festival. Id wear a lovely sun dress and get ready to snap away. The staff is superb. Knowledgeable and kind. The Manager was kind, an Asian man. The owner came out, the founder. 50 years old establishment. He's 3rd generation grower.. So kind! Just kind, kind, kind. Great energy. Quiet place. Keep your rowdy vibes at home. Bring a warm drink, a snack and stroll and smile. Bring a bottle of wine and sip at the Pavillion, a beautiful hut near the front with tables. Dont rush here. Savor the hour here. We stayed a full hour going gaga over everything. Its a MUST SEE on any trip to Redlands. I think kids might not be so welcomed but if you can leave an adult with them at the hut area while you go look. Might work. The main area is filled with delicate flowers, so its not a playground. Its a quiet love ground...its not cheap but quality rarely is. read more

I remember this place as if I was there yesterday. When I entered, I felt as though I was transported to middle earth, the scenery was reminiscent of Rivendell. This is always a great place to stop when we are down south. We always make a point to swing by here for some beautiful orchids in rare colors and varieties. The staff there is SUPER helpful and will answer any questions you have about the orchids and especially how to care for them. I have no green thumb whatsoever but they walked me through the process and even helped me to pick up an orchid that even I couldn't kill. And they gave me a print out that explained how to care for my new plants. When you walk through the nursery, each type of orchid is labeled clearly with name, price, and what makes it special. I imagine you could learn a lot by just wandering around and reading all the cards :) They also sell tons of different style of pots for your new orchid or plant. My mother-in-law is big orchid lover and she geeks out over all the specialized accessories you can get for your plants. And the grounds are lovely! They host events here and are even building a new pavilion that looks very spacious (sits at least 120 people I'd guess). So if you are looking to host a wedding or party, I would check this place out :) read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE! STAY AWAY! On 4/13/2021 I purchased 3 orchids for my Mom and a lady by the name CLAUDIA assisted me during the selection of each individual plant. These orchids were for my Mom as a birthday present. CLAUDIA assured me that my plants were going to be properly package by them and ship to the address that I provided to them using USPS. Keep in mind that the whole expense including shipping was $312. On 4/16 the person in charge of the shipping and packages calls me "RUDE AND with ATTITUDE " to provide me with the prices of sending the orchids express mail or priority mail. After this RUDE female tells me my options I decided to go with the priority mail service (3-5 business days -$85). The RUDE female sends me an email with the receipt and tracking number for me to track the package. On 4/16 I noticed that my package was received but the acceptance of the package was still in pending status. On 4/16 I contacted CLAUDIA and advised her of the situation and told me that she was going to look into it. The day goes by and CLAUDIA doesn't call me back. On 4/17 I called CLAUDIA again demanding for answers and tells me that they were going to investigate and get back to me (same excuse as the previous day). CLAUDIA then calls me and tells that they went to the post office and the post office told them that they didn't have the package (nobody can say where package worth $312 worth ). CLAUDIA then tells me that she was going to call me on Monday to determine what they were going to do with my missing orchids. On Monday CLAUDIA doesn't call me (keep in mind that she said on Saturday 4/17 that she was going to call me) and this miserable person ERIKA tells me with a sarcastic tone of voice that CLAUDIA wasn't working on Monday or Tuesday and that I needed to wait now until Wednesday to hear from her. On 4/21 CLAUDIA calls me and laughs and tells me sorry I forgot that I was not going to work on Monday or Tuesday but that they were going to reimburse me the money for the orchids and not the shipping. I explained to CLAUDIA that the were responsible for the entire bill and that If I wasn't getting my full refund that I was going to contact local police department to file the report and provide all documents to my attorney to move forward with this issue that they were treating as a joke. My full refund was received ($312 and it takes 2-3 business days for the amount of money to reflect in my account) and the orchids were never found. Lesson learned - My mom never received her birthday present because of these unprofessional individuals and I had to chase down my purchase for them to reimburse me. See pictures below. PLEASE STAY AWAY. They don't care about customers. You can thank me later. This place is a joke! read more

I usually will only review food places but I feel this place needs a great review. My girlfriend and I were greeted while walking through the rows of orchids by Michael which I think is the owner. He greeted us with ice cold passion fruit tea refreshments. He let us know that if we had any questions to let him know and he would be happy to help us. We walked around for about an hour through their long selection of orchids. We finally picked a few orchids that we wanted for our Mothers. Michael recommended beautiful hanging basket, personally arranged the orchid baskets himself, and gave us proper care directions. He was extremely polite and went out of his way to help us. I highly recommend RF Orchids to anyone thinking about getting an arrangement for someone special. The customer service was outstanding from start to finish. You do not have to be an orchid enthusiast to enjoy R.F.Orchids. First of all there are very few places where you can take a free tour and it be worth every penny you did not spend. The Fuchs family have spent generations traveling the world for the most amazing plants, statues, garden motifs and influences and brought them back to share with the Miami public. The tour offers a glimpse of what they have chosen to keep for their own enjoyment and how they have incorporated plants and decor into their gardens. It is like touring a botanical garden and gives you alot of ideas for your own backyard. The tours are offered 11am and 3pm. Beyond the tour, when you arrive you are offered an icy cold glass of a citrus drink that is so refreshing and great for sipping while walking through their 5 greenhouses full of hundreds of varieties of orchids. I love that they have prices for every budget, you can get small vandas for $5 or you can get rare varieties for hundreds of dollars. The staff allow you to walk and shop uninterrupted and are happy to answer any questions or make recommendations. It is a great experience and in my opinion, a must stop location if you are in the Homestead area. read more

I found out about this little hidden gem when I picked up a flyer about things to do in the Redlands (Homestead) & intended to take my parents for Mother's Day to revel in all the beautiful orchids. It was definitely worth the near-hour drive southwest... and saying we saw "beautiful orchids" was REALLY an understatement. The property is privately owned, a spacious home with an even more impressively built and landscaped grounds surrounding it. On the weekends, at 11am & 3pm, the staff conducts FREE tours around the entire property & provides so much information on ALL the floral species & orchid varieties you see. It's so breathtaking to see from the largest (hand-sized!) orchids in bloom to the teeny-tiniest clutched to the palm trees. Along with all the orchids, the property also features many exotic animals like cockatoos, macaws, lovebirds & finches in cages, and the largest private pond I've ever seen, filled with large turtles, large catfishes, hundreds of tilapia, and ginormous pacu! When you go, MAKE SURE to bring a fully-charged camera & go crazy with the photo ops! The tour ends where it started, at the "farm" side of the property at the entrance. At that point, after beholding so much beauty & charm, you head to their store & leave the place with 10 orchid saplings, educational books, and blooming gifts to take back home! At the store, you can buy relatively inexpensive sapplings or already-bloomed orchids, or really charge up your credit card buying exotic & expensive beauties from Thailand or Indonesia. The staff is very friendly, patient, helpful, and on those scorching hot days (winters might be forgiving) the staff passes around complimentary passion fruit & lime drinks to visitors. It's incredible to imagine that most orchids are only in bloom for about 2-3 weeks... and every inch of that property was covered in these flowers, with some plants not yet ready to bloom. IMAGINE when they finally are! The place is NEVER bare of color, flowers, & wonder! I can't wait to go back to see what's in bloom :) read more
