Moving from brightly lit streets on Long Island & NYC to the dark night driving of CT, has cost me some bumps and dings, and other things over the last decade. COTALING'S, is always there for me. They do a lot of work for the people in surrounding neighborhoods, but are never too busy for their customers. From the first visit through the years. It's so true. They are a fabulous family group, it's fun to see everybody working generationally together; grandpa, grandma to sons and daughters, spouses and grandkids, and likely great-grands. They quoted me a fair price and let me know I could come by in 20 minutes which in my opinion is impressive to be squeezed in last minute on a Saturday morning. After looking at the car they let me know that I really didn't need to replace my brakes yet but they would do an oil change and drive the car just to make sure there's nothing wrong. I greatly appreciate their honesty and highly recommend this shop. Side note - I brought my dog along with me and they even offered to give him a bowl of water while we waited.

Love the fact that I can drop off the car in the early morning and chat with staff while the car is repaired. The waiting room is clean and quiet. Plus no upselling or grief when I need to do a repair in stages. Instead, Brian offers common sense solutions and great alternatives to solve an issue. Brian is pleasure to work with and patient with my less than knowlegeable questions :-) He walks you through the whole repair if you have questions. After another local repair shop failed twice to complete repairs without breaking other systems and costing me more money, I went looking for a better place. This is it! So nice to be able to trust a mechanic to do a great job! I read over some of the other reviews and the "one stars" are totally out of character for Brian and I suspect they are bogus. Another great experience I had with Hansen Auto Body & Automotive was when I recently needed the exhaust system repaired. Brian doesn't offer the specific work I needed, so he sent me to "Yankee Discount Muffler" nearby. Another great place that did excellent work and more than reasonable. Thank you Brian!

Withholding Documentation: They scanned my vehicle's data and checked my mileage but refused to provide me with the standard intake ticket given to all other arriving drivers. 50K MAINTENANCE for my perfectly running Toyota is 1.5 hours per the dealership. NOT 'HALF TO A FULL DAY'. That's an ER visit for a human. In Connecticut, automotive businesses must legally provide a written repair or estimate before performing work, and treating a senior consumer unfairly regarding waiting accommodations can be reported directly as an official dealership business violation I asked the shop if I could wait when I made my appointment the week before and was told yes. What a miserable waste of time traveling to and from for ridiculous gaslighting and mistreatment. Two seats almost connected in front of an intake station and there was a loudly talkative man seated in one - guess he wasn't told minor routine maintenance would take all day.

Felt like I've been scammed. Will not be going back or recommending. Towed my 2013 Mazda 3 here…read moreback in July because it wasn't starting. Was told it had "jumped time" and needed an entire new engine replacement or they could trash it for me. Towed it home and got a second opinion. Absolutely nothing about the engine was showing up with a diagnostic scanner and turns out only needed a sensor replaced. I literally paid less for the sensor part than what Motorworks charged me for a diagnostic fee. Car is running again without an engine replacement. I feel like this was either fraud and or incompetence.
