The facial was not the anti-aging facial described just basic rubbing and dermaplaning, delivered after I could hear staff gossiping in the lobby. The "hand and foot treatment" was a dry rub with exfoliation gloves before strapping on lotion-filled gloves and booties. The scalp massage was so perfunctory I asked the technician to stop and end the service early. It felt like they were padding out the clock to make up for time shaved off everything else. Twice during my appointment, while I was lying there with a mask on my face, she pulled out her phone and played TikTok videos out loud. Instead of using that time to provide the kind of relaxing experience I've received from other esthetician, such as a neck, shoulder, or hand massage, I was left listening to social media videos. I believe they have restrictions of having their cell phones in the room. There were other issues as well. The facial steamer was positioned so close to my face that it became uncomfortably hot, and I had to ask her to move it. That's something I don't feel a client should have to point out during a professional facial. When I spoke with the front desk afterward, I was told she wasn't from that location and had come from another Hand & Stone to help out. While I appreciated the explanation, it didn't change my experience. I also explained that I didn't think I should lose one of my membership credits for a service that fell so far below expectations. I later emailed corporate to share my concerns and never received a response. After being a loyal member for years, I expected much better customer service and follow-up.
