Good batting cages with a nice view of the freeway. The 80 MPH batting cage is kind of hard to see when the ball is being released. Good range from 50-90 MPH. They also have 2 softball cages, one slow pitch, and one fast pitch. Also they use dimple balls instead of baseballs, which I don't prefer. read more

Fun place close to home but i went the other night and arrived by 8 i went to reserve a cage for the last hr being that they close at 9. I asked the guy and he said it would be only 30mins since they close at 10mins before and i said that's fine so i assumed being that they close 10mins before they'd let us until 8:50 since i paid for the hr and they stopped it at 8:40 and every other cage we went into just took our coin but threw no pitches. read more

Saturday evening at 8pm very rude employee started clapping because we waited a long time for the 1 slow pitch softball cage that was being used by another customer. We asked about reservations VS tokens usage and employee stated when using tokens we need to share with other patrons yet he didn't ask the current user to share. When we complained about why the current customer was not sharing the employee said "if you don't like it then go somewhere else" so of course we left and as we told him we would go somewhere else he started clapping.. DO NOT GO TO THESE BATTING CAGES. Go elsewhere and pay for the use of newer machines and Better customer service. F+ read more

The cages are amazing. The only thing I do not like is when they rent the cage for an hour when they see others are currently using them. It forces me out. I found that annoying. On certain days you can't even hit at times. It's hard to see 80mph from the hitter's eye. But overall, a great spot read more

This place is great! Very reasonable prices. Plenty of parking. Nothing fancy but there's a comfy resting area. I came with my sister and two dogs. They didn't say anything about us bringing our dogs so I'm guessing they are pet friendly? You can also rent a bat for free if you do not have your own. My 2 star review is based on the lack of information on the business' yelp and website account. We arrived at 8:00 p.m. wanting to practice for 30 minutes. This is a cash only location and because I was unaware, we were forced to leave to seek an atm. Once we returned, the batting cage my son wanted to use was already busy. Not only did we have to wait, but he was also only able to practice for 15 minutes, because despite the advertised closing time of 9:00 p.m., the establishment does not allow batting in the last 15 minutes before close. All I wanted to do was to get in a couple of rounds of batting the day before the softball game which will determine which place my team will enter the playoffs. I arrive at Rex's and am told that the only slow-pitch softball cage has been rented for thirty minutes and that they still have seven minutes left. No problem, I don't mind waiting--it's only fair since they have paid their money for those thirty minutes. But it's what the cashier guy in the window told me next that didn't strike me as even remotely fair. He said that the other group, currently using the cage, told him that they MIGHT want to rent the cage again for another thirty minutes--but they had not paid to for an additional thirty minutes. So the next customer to offer their money should be allowed to go next, right? Wrong. The cashier denied me the use of the cage, and I'm left just standing there with cash in-hand, while the group that had just used the cage, walks back up to the window and pays for an additional thirty minutes. Come on now--there is only one slow-pitch softball cage at Rex's, shouldn't there be a better way to make sure that no one person or group can monopolize it? read more

Woo Hoo! This place is FUN! I love that they take reservations online. Totally old school feel. I enjoy the softball cages. They have a 40 mph and 60 mph softball cages and then assorted baseball ones with the fastest at 90 mph. Maybe one day I'll try that one and hope to not have my head knocked off. I've been here a few times and it can get kind of packed, especially if there's a team of some sort practicing. So if you have your heart set on coming here, reallllly helps to reserve a cage online. I think most people don't even realize you can do that, so you will stroll in there looking like a straight boss when they clear the cage out for you and then you don't have to play the waiting game. Double win. So incredibly affordable. Parking can get a bit cramped. It does the job and it's a great time for cheap. I've been looking for batting cages around the area, and thanks to a friend, I'm glad he recommended this place. I mean really, who doesn't enjoy swinging the bat and striking out hoping to be able to hit the ball, right? Maybe just me? Okay, okay. The reason I was looking for batting cages was to improve just that, my crappy batting. This place will definitely help you with that, as they offer ball speeds from 40-90 mph. I sucked at all of them, but slowly built up. The price is reasonable too. You get three tokens for two dollars. Each token will get you eight tosses. That's twenty four baseball tosses for a cheap price. Honestly, try that first before you decide to rent a cage. Before I get to the rentals, let me explain why. If you don't know if you can even hit the ball, use the tokens to try different speeds so you don't get too discouraged in the beginning. Once you get comfortable with hitting a speed you can actually hit the ball at, then rent a cage. You can rent cages for cheap too. I rented one for nine dollars for fifteen minutes. Trust me, you get tired of swinging, so start with that. If you have no equipment, no worries. You can rent a bat for fifty cents, but you have to leave your car keys or drivers license. They do have snacks and drinks, but you can't eat them inside the cages, for obvious reasons. Everything is relatively cheap, so price wise they get thumbs up from me. The place is clean and there are a lot of kids, so timing and day will be important, especially if you want to reserve. I gave four stars, rather than five for a couple of reasons. Nothing too serious, but nevertheless something that caught me off guard. For one, it's cash only, so be prepared. Next, I wish they had more batting cages, as they do get busy with kids; That's cool because they're way better than me anyway, but there can be a wait on a busy day, especially if people aren't rotating with tokens. Lastly, the parking is kinda small and you can drive right past the place. Again, minor things, but things that can become a task. Otherwise, this place is awesome. Now that I'm informed, i'll be coming back here for sure. Great place to let some stress out and be demoralized by little leaguers that actually know how to swing a bat. My girlfriend and I have been here twice and both times we've been there we have been able to choose from available batting cages. The cages are divided by MPH. The price is pretty good and they rent bats and provide helmets too. Really good place to relieve some stress and it's out in the open too. Up until I met my boyfriend, I had absolutely no interest in baseball or anything related to balls and bats. The last time I picked up a bat was probably in middle school, and thinking of that brings back the memory and the burning sting of getting struck in the face with a foul ball. Sports balls + my face = disaster. Naturally, when invited to come here by the beau, I nervously accepted. I started out reluctant and shy (though I would never admit it). I have been coming here for about 6 months or so, and while I am far from a pro, I can consistently hit the slow-pitch softballs now. I have been learning by watching the advanced and beginner batters take swings, how they move their bodies, how they place their feet. This place is great for beginners. The cages are lined up, one next to another. There are about 8-9 cages, ranging in speed for baseballs, and two softball cages (slow and fast pitch). It's $3 for 5 tokens, and there are 8 pitches to a token. Gear rental is free, providing that you leave your ID for collateral. I really love coming here because there is no better way to clear your head and heart. Give me a sunny, breezy day, a cage with a view of the Southland, and I'd call it perfection. read more

Decent place if your here just for batting practice no games or stuff like that. The price is right for the area and you can rent equipment although I highly recommend you bring your own gear. This place has that mom & pop feeling and my family and I have I've always been treated nicely here. I've been here during weekdays and nights and it is not crowded at all. Only one cage for each speed (40-90 mph) so if you want a certain speed you might have to wait you turn. I like that I don't have to load the machine (Unlike a more expensive South Bay batting cage). I tried a weekend day before a little league game and it was crowded. I guess we all had the same idea. It's best to try off non-peak hours if you want to get in and out. You can also call and reserve a time if you want. They use tokens (8 pitches per token) or you can rent for time (15 mins, 1/2 hour, 1 hour etc.) Parking is small but at least it's off the street. Maybe they should add some upgraded seating, vending machines with food, drinks etc. I just wish I could catch up with that 90mph machine... Must be getting old! read more

Not too many batting cages near me to take the kids... Tried these cages out and it was pretty decent. Go before 5pm. We got there at 4pm stayed until 445'ish and everyone started pulling in... So we left. It's $9 for 15 minutes. I think you can also do $2 for 8 balls. I personally think 15-20minutes is enough time to get some swinging in. read more

i've been to a few cages in LA, and I would say Rex is my favorite place because they have machines from 50-90, they might even have under 50. Its iron mike machines, my only wish for this place is that it threw hard balls, instead of the rubber ones. read more

It's not fancy, but it's beyond reasonably priced. Have you tried going to beach cities batting cages? They're smoking something with the prices they charge for a half hour. Here at Rex's you can get a half hour for $16. That is simply unbeatable. I've been taking my son and his team mates here for the last 4 years and it is great. The staff are very sweet and polite. About the only down side is that they don't have a bathroom, but do have a porta potty on premises. While there is no one in the history of the world who would be happy about that, the price and convenience override that tiny negative. I generally call ahead and reserve a cage, but many times you can simply show up and find space. read more

Look out for the groups. I love coming here until I show up and there's mobs of people hogging the machines. I guess that's a good thing though. My Son and I have been looking for a Westside Batting Cage since the one on Pontius closed about six years back. We finally bit the bullet and drove (and drove!) out to REX's and it was great. Inexpensive and not over crowded. We got in the 80 mph cage for a half-hour and then in the 90 mph cage for several more rounds. Nice staff, decent machines. Good deal! read more
