My boys attended camp here and it was awesome. The owners are incredible. One of the last businesses in LA that has any common sense and actually listens to REAL science. We love that they don't allow masks as science shows it can cause irreversible damage (especially while operating machinery), and masks cannot protect you from viral particles - you would need a hazmat suit. Really cool place!! People are friendly, they provide a great service. If you want to come and hit some balls on an automatic pitching machine, this is the place!! They have both a baseball and softball machine as well. Both of these you can adjust the speed of, so if you're more of a beginner you can slow it down....otherwise if you're a seasoned pro with the 'need for speed' you can crank it up. You can book in for 30, 45, 60 mins or even longer if you like. There also the option, say if you're on a team to do some pitching and catching/fielding. A speed radar will measure your speed.... TJ and Gina rock!! lovely people. Also, it's a dope venue for private parties too.... had a few here myself. They have a huge carpark which you can convert to a kids party with a bouncy castle, or otherwise have a bar mitzvah or adult themed party with a bartender too such an engagement party or baby shower. We had a horrible experience here after being clients and customers for over 6 months they were incredibly rude to us and didn't care whatsoever about anything. The instructor sent my kid home early saying you wasted my time... my son is eight years old. Customer service here is abominable nobody cares about how you or your kid feels. They expect you to be punctual and pay and not cancel ever but they'll cancel you and be late without care for any of your needs or kids feelings. It's pretty clear that the instructor made plans to leave early and sent my kid home early instead of taking responsibility or being honest about his own behavior. Unethical practice, poor way to manage children. No one helped a bit when I tried to Adress it. Please don't teach kids of your can't manage them. We are out - they struck out big time. read more

I read the reviews before I went and the complaints made me a little weary of going-- speaking like this place is all rundown and ghetto and it's not. Who cares if you have to feed your own balls-- baseball is a physical sport! I had fun. I hit a little, but mostly it was for my step-son. There's a few batting cages where there is indeed a manual feed pitching machine, but it's not like it's a daunting task to gather balls. Most of the balls are funneled back to you anyhow. There's a few other cages for fielding and pitching, making this a well-rounded facility for baseball practice. There's even on-hand instructors to help you out. Just had a horrible experience at this place. My daughter is in Softball playing offs and called at 9:30 am and was told we had a reservation at 5pm. Ok. Showed up at 5pm and for softball cage and after 3 pitches in was approached and told that there was another reservation and we had to leave for 3 guys who wanted to practice softball. Why did they tell us to come? Why were we asked to leave once we were in the cage? This was horrible management and terrible service. Very unexpected for a place we have enjoyed for so many years. If was apparent that the 3 males were friends of the staff and the girls were going to have to go sit for the guys to play first. There is a great place in El Segundo, Beach City Baseball that we used and is amazing service as well as Big League Youth on Jefferson in Culver City. Don't waist your time here. Especially if you're female or have a daughter as they don't value female players. read more

Having been to several LA and Southbay based baseball facilities I have to say this is the best one for a number of reasons. It is bigger than many other facilities. They also offer a winter and summer camp and rather than just having kiddos stuck indoors they close their parking lot and do wiffle ball games to vary it up and keep it fun. GREAT option! Also their customer service is better than some facilities where I can NEVER reach anyone. I have a call due to me from their event coordinator so I can them speak to birthday parties etc. read more

This place is a little misunderstood. It's not your regular batting cage where you step in and put a token in a machine and the balls start shooting. The place is more for private lessons, and renting cages for team practices (Mostly little league). The place is great for lessons and coaching. That's probably their best feature. I grew up playing in the Wilshire Little League and took batting lessons here as a kid. Let's just say me stopping the sport in the middle of high school is now a huge regret. However, I did come back around to visiting Baseball Central again when I helped coach a little league team for the past couple of years. Still the same, and great for lessons. Out of the few cages they have, most have to be fed by a person, such as a coach, or a friend. They do have a cage that self-shoots, and that's the one I'm on when I'm there. But if you're looking for some good ol' self-practice or after-work stress relief, I personally prefer to go out to the Batcade in Burbank, or the Sherman Oaks Castle Park Cages. Those are the classic, all-around "swing away" cages. Baseball Central is great don't get me wrong, but for specific things like I mentioned above. Lessons, Coaching, and Teaching. It's just not a very casual, "swing-away" batting cage like the ones most people are looking for. I'd highly recommend the place for the lessons and baseball camp. read more

I called to get further information about pitching speeds and about pricing. I live in koreatown and wanted to go to the most convenient location due to time restraints. I chose this place over Batcade in Burbank and I will not be making that mistake again. Although I made it clear that I was on my way and a new comer unfamiliar with this place I wasn't told that I needed a reservation. I arrived and was told that the batting cages were unavailable and that I needed a reservation. I drove 25 minutes just to be turned back with a dissapointed child. What a waste of time and gas. This is probably the best batting cage that I have seen anywhere near my house, in the los angeles Vicinity. It's a 15 minute drive from my house. Overall, the facilities are clean but messy. You don't see trash or anything on the floor, but all the nets, for each individual batting cage, are scattered everywhere. Now. don't get me wrong; this does not mean it is messy. just a little bit disorganized. However, the staff was great. One of the employees even gave me a tip on my bat swing, and that has significantly improved my swing. These cages are not like the cages I have been to. First off, you MUST go with at least 2 people. This cage doesn't have a machine that spits strikes at you. While person is up to bat, the other person needs to feed the pitching machine. Also, each individual cage is more of a 'net' than a cage. The 'cage' doesn't show you how far you hit, and it doesn't provide room for the ball to travel. However, I don't think that's the point. This place should be used to tweak your batting stance/swing/execution, etc. The cage focuses on you hitting ball, not on where you hit the ball, and I personally like that. It mostly based on a time, and the price is fair. its 20$ for 30 minutes, i think, and in 30 minutes I hit a LOT of balls. more than I would if I had to constantly feed the machine. Overall, great place. Would recommended it to EVERYONE, to check out. this place is the shit! low key big warehouse. However, call them before to make sure they have a cage for you. *also, they only have one softball cage, so you REALLY need to call before if you wanna practice softball. read more

A bucket of 32 balls costs $3 and is no longer $2. A maximum of 2 buckets per cage; otherwise, you'll be charged by minutes. They have an assortment of bats to use, free of charge. I was surprised to see how many "couples" were there. Ironically, I went with my g/f too. We were rushed when we took a break to catch our breath. I like this place for the simple fact it works best for you and it adjust to your comfort level it has different cages for different things pitching, catching, batting a very huge spacious for your comfort they also have classes with teachers which is a plus for your little one if he/ she loves baseball! Park in the back. The best deal if you have about four people, is to rent the cage for 1 hour for $30. The only thing that sucks is the place is not the best and most advanced batting cage around. You have to go pick up your own balls after you're down and load it into the machine each time. The machine is very inconsistent, balls fly high and low. The setup: the place is basically a warehouse converted into six batting cages. The place can get VERY hot and humid. Laid back atmosphere. Good baseball stuff hung up. read more

The batting cages are very helpful for my softball team. We hit great the following weekend and it only cost 5 dollars a girl. My problem is with the private lessons. You can tell the coaches don't know much about softball. I knew that if I applied the techniques the coach was telling me my swing would be 10 seconds late. When girls are pitching 60 miles an hour from 43 feet away, you don't have time to windup your swing and take a big stride. It DEFINITELY wasn't worth it considering that it was $60 for 30 minutes, and 1/3 of that time was used to pick up balls. In short, the batting cages are great, but softball players shouldn't go for the private lessons. read more
