I would have never known this place was here... they are a family owned business and have some great coaches that can relate to the kids

My son has been with Mason since he was 10 . There's no doubt him playing college baseball is a direct reflection of being mentored, coached, and loved by Mason . He was on the Original Wrecking Crew 22's . If you're ready to get to work and learn some amazing stuff that will change your game, Wrecking Yard is the place for you. CATCHER'S this is the place to get that work in.

Nick Green has done a great job with our Little Leaguer, teaching him the finer details of pitching and hitting. Highly recommended.

GOOOOOAAAALLLLLLLLL!…read more GOOOOOOAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL! Ok, so maybe our team doesn't hear that as often as some of the others but WHO CARES because we're having fun wearing knee socks and cleats. SouthBay Sports allows all of us wanna be athletes and those "has been" athletes live out our World Cup dreams each week, minus the head-butting. I play on two co-ed teams and in addition to getting some much needed cardio, I also get to relieve some much need aggression on those boys who try to get in my way. They spent the summer turfing the field on Aviation & Manhattan Beach blvd so there is no risk of falling in the mud holes of previous seasons. SouthBay Sports also offers softball and co-ed football during certain seasons so keep an eye out on their schedule.

I've played in this league for over 6 years. They used to have quality teams, a decent turf field,…read moreand well priced team fees. It's been years since any maintenance has been done on the field. The quality of teams has lowered significantly (players with low skill and bad attitudes are everywhere). The referees either don't care or slow the game down with excessive calls and power trips. On top of all this the cost to play has been increasing. None of that extra cost seems to go towards improving the player experience. The only redeeming aspect is Mike, the guy who works the front office, he's respectful and does his best to help to keep everything smooth. Work towards improving the player experience and maybe you won't have trouble keeping quality players on the field.

We have yet to start our season, and it's already clear how poorly organized it is. The organizers…read moreare based in Torrance and seem to have little context on our location in Pasadena; in fact, we regularly receive communications from Cerritos instead. As another reviewer said, they are constantly asking for parents to volunteer to coach even with "no experience." They also do not allow you to pick your team or be placed with a friend, which I find makes little sense at the lower levels when the kids have very little experience playing and just want to do the activity with friends. I had signed up to assistant coach my daughter's team, partially on the promise that we could have one friend on the team. However, they turned around and said that offer was only available if I agreed to become head coach. Now our team has neither a head coach nor an assistant coach because their way of asking me to take on more just felt so underhanded and counter-intuitive to how you should treat volunteers.

We enrolled our daughter expecting a well-organized program with consistent coaching and adult…read moresupervision. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience. During the season, our coach Terry repeatedly left practices 30 minutes before they were over. As a parent, I don't think that's acceptable. If a coach can't stay for the full practice, there should be another qualified adult there to coach the players. Families are paying for organized instruction, not uncertainty about who will be supervising their children. When I first raised my concerns with the program director, she seemed genuinely surprised and told me the head coach would be calling me to discuss the situation. That call never came. A few weeks later, before anyone had followed up or attempted to resolve the issue, I received an email encouraging us to register for the next season. I replied explaining why we wouldn't be returning and expressing my disappointment that no one had addressed the concerns I'd already raised. Instead of taking ownership of the situation, I received excuses about relying on volunteer coaches and parents. The director even shared stories about how expensive her own child's sport is and how they sometimes don't even have practice. I honestly couldn't understand why that was relevant. Comparing your program's shortcomings to another sport doesn't address the concerns of paying families or inspire confidence that the issues are being taken seriously. To make matters worse, the head coach finally called me today, about a month after my original complaint, saying he was "wrapping things up before the holiday" and that calling me was on his list. It didn't feel like a genuine attempt to resolve anything, just more of an afterthought. I understand that youth sports often rely on volunteers, and I appreciate the people who donate their time. But if an organization accepts registrations and fees, it also has a responsibility to provide reliable coaching, adequate supervision, and timely communication when parents raise legitimate concerns. Unfortunately, we won't be returning, and I can't recommend this program to other families.
