I was a patient at Promontory Point Rehab Facility in Ammon, Idaho from October 14, 2024 to October…read more30, 2024. I received outstanding care from the Nursing staff, CNA's, Physical and Occupational therapy, Physician Assistants, and a very kind Doctor-Dr. Scott Taylor.
I had an extensive and very complicated right hip revision surgery(where a metal femur rod was removed, screws and nails were removed), and then the whole thing had to be turned into a total hip replacement along with more hardware installation-a new femoral rod, screws, and a banding around the femur bone-where a " stress fracture" was located. I also was born without ANY left hip socket-and endured 6 surgeries-in almost every decade of my life! All in all-I had endured a LOT of post-op pain. In the acute care hospital-where my Surgery was performed, ( in Pocatello, Idaho) I stayed 5 days-but suffered in incredible pain! They could not medicate me for pain because my blood pressure was low. I never had this happen to me before! Anyway, the Nurses ignored my pleas for pain medicine, and some said "I was disturbing the other patients". Anyway, thankfully-Promontory Point had a bed available, and I was transferred to this wonderful rehab facility.
It felt like each Nurse knew the pain I was going through. Each of them was so very caring and compassionate-and they did everything to help make me comfortable! They did whatever they could to keep my pain down to a minimum, and I was so thankful to them!
The facility was clean, I had a very nice room. The CNA's would answer your call light-almost immediately. I felt like each employee LOVED their job!
I was overjoyed with the overall care I received. Physical therapy and Occupational therapy, were very encouraging, and it felt great to make progress and become stronger. There were crafts to participate in-which made it fun, and you could meet other patients if you wanted to. The meals were good, and always arrived on time.
Compassion is key to anyone suffering from surgery. I found out that a couple of Nurses had Hospice experience-which made me admire this place even more! If I ever need another major surgery again, I would pick Promontory Point in a heartbeat! Thank you to ALL who took such wonderful care of me! You have left a wonderful impression on me-and even though I was also an RN ( years ago), all the employees at Promontory Point-took care of me as if I was a family member! Isn't this how you want to feel when you are scared, and in pain? I give Promontory Point a five out of a five star rating. Sincerely, Kathy Clark, RN ( retired).
