Excellent cozy Indian restaurant. Delicious fish pakoras, Lamb , chicken and nam. Great portions and affordable. We had the Indian dessert and was so refreshing. The waitress from Mauritius is very well educated and very gentle. It is a good restaurant with wonderful and delicious Indian menu. Service was outstanding. We had to order also to take away. This place was an amazing find! I'm so glad we found Rex Kitchen. At first we walked in I was a little worried that it was quiet in the restaurant when we arrived, but found the server was so nice and happy to help with any questions we had. We ordered the butter chicken and tikka masala chicken with the option for the meal upgrade that gives you rice, naan, salad and yoghurt. The food was amazing and was full of flavour. Some of the best Indian food we've had, I'm so happy we discovered this location. We will be back again soon. read more

That's the thing once you get out further from the city, you get interesting places like them. Out here for a business meeting, and accidentally bumped into this good-sized strip mall, while in a busy stretch of the highway, this part is in between some trees and residential area. Decor-wise, it's got a great wall mural of the New York skyline, and I don't know the relation here but sure is a unique trait, one won't forget this Indian restaurant lol. It's a cozy joint without the excessiveness of a traditional Indian ornaments and what have you. In fact, it's quite bright, and spacious, about a 30 seater or so. As usual, my measuring barometer is their butter chicken, quite tomato-y, and good tasting. Lots of boneless chicken, and right on in terms of the spice level. Apparently they have good lunch specials. TV & good sound system. Clean washrooms too. accept credit/debit. friendly service. read more

The food is 5 star - this diamond in the rough can be misleading and you will miss out if you don't look past the strip mall vibe. The waitress was super friendly and helpful with the menu (which featured some non-standard Vancouver Indian restaurant items). My only regret was that I couldn't try everything - so we will be back. We are from Alberta and decided to try this little restaurant. The Indian Food was the best we have ever had in a restaurant. The owner and chef Rex was very helpful in explaining the dishes as well as his cooking methods. He makes all his sauces and cooks everything fresh. No only was the soup, appitizers, specials and desert superb the service was excellent. This Restaurant and washroom is absolutely spotless. For our experience we rated it 5 stars and it is genuinely a 5 star restaurant. When we come back to Maple Ridge we will certainly eat here again. read more

Amazing food and fantastic customer service. I came in here with my two little ones and the lady working was SUCH a sweetheart. I meant to review them much sooner because I was so pleased with them but mom brain made me forget! Super reasonable price for the lunch buffet and the food was hot and delicious. She explained every dish to me and entertained my daughter with colouring sheets. She even held my baby while I took my toddler to the bathroom! I can't get over how great out experience was. Oh, my goodness! What a find! Especially, in the Maple Ridge area on a rainy Sunday evening. Had we not checked online, we might have driven right by. The place smelled so delicious that we ordered too much food and are looking forward to the leftovers for tomorrow. Our waitress was very accommodating and gave us great recommendations. The lamb bhuna was especially yummy. The ambience is simple, more like a cafe than a fine dining establishment but the food and staff more than makes up for any lack. I booked a table online and it was confirmed within 20 minutes. My wife and I each had a somoza as an appetizer, and they were the best I have ever eaten. Freshly made, and spiced perfectly. We had curried lamb and a vegetable biryani. I asked for the biryani to be hot, and it was excellent. Hot, but not uncomfortably so. The curried lamb was ordered 'medium' and it was superb. The naans were fresh and fabulous. There was enough left to take home for my lunch tomorrow. We took a take out menu with us and we will definitely be repeat customers. read more

I went to Rex Kitchen today for lunch and found their buffet to be delicious. They had a good variety of food which included soup, salads, appetizer, main course dishes and a delicious dessert. I was impressed by their variety and the fact that the dishes were different from the usual butter chicken and palak paneer dishes that you are usually served at the Indian restaurants. Above all their buffet was reasonably priced at 11$ something. I will definitely go there again. read more

My wife and I are vegan and have eaten here twice and found the food very tasty, filling and overall a real treat. The service is warm and friendly and we would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Their menu will satisfy anyone's taste. We ordered our food "hot" and it was just right; warm enough, but you could still taste the various spices and favours. We will be regular customers. I would rate their food quality here 7 out of 10. Their service and ethics 0 out of 10. I looked at their menu online and ordered a bunch of food... Quickly did the math and taxes and it should have came to about $60. Called and ordered everything and asked for the price and she said $69.xx (don't remember the change)... I thought it was a bit high but I figured I will look at the receipt when I go to pick up. They told me I could pick up in 45 minutes... I showed up 45 minutes later and they didn't have the food ready... They're not even busy, they had NOBODY in there when I walked in. I waited 15 minutes, she brought out 4 bags and asked for $69.xx (again I don't remember the change)... I asked for the receipt, she said it's in 1 of the bags... I looked in all 4 bags and there was no receipt there... I asked her again and she kept saying it's there... Finally she agreed to print a receipt and I went through it and there were 3 different charges on there as "OPEN ORDER"... 1 was for $3 and 2 were for $2 each... I asked what those charges were for and she thought for a second and said $2 is for adding chickpeas to your samosas and the $3 charge is for cauliflower in your vegetarian dish... I said "I thought the veggi dish comes with cauliflower?? She responds, "yah but cauliflower is more expensive now"... I said ok?? why haven't you changed your menu prices? She started yelling and asked for $69.xx... I said I didn't ask for chickpeas in my samosas? She said well we added it to your order... You're getting chickpeas so you have to pay... I said "What is the other $2 for"?? She responds "I don't know, the person that took your order added it, it must be for something"... and she kept yelling... I thought $7 isn't worth arguing with this old lady so I through $70 on the counter and took my food home... I shared the story with my friends and family that day and the next day at work and everyone said, this is absolutely unacceptable and they can't do that to customers... BE AWARE... This place is BAD AND THEY HAVE NO ETHICS...... read more
