After that, a coordinator will contact you to schedule. They do not offer an electronic version of the documents that are required. Requiring patients to make two physical visits to the clinic during standard business hours before being able to schedule an appointment is an unreasonable hoop to jump through for access to care. I can't comment on the quality of care that may or may not be provided by the team at this office once you are an established patient. My rating is based solely on the practice having a policy that limits patient access to healthcare.

In January then July and again in September. I'm not sure if they have too many patients but it is very hard to get an appointment that isn't months out. The provider I had been seeing liked to run tests even if these same tests were just done by another provider and she had a copy of the tests. I had enough of that and some of the tests were just unnecessary but could be billed. Prescribing unneeded medicine was something else I noticed here too. I've already tried another provider in the office but she was not good with listening to my concerns either and not very thorough. I will try another before moving to another office.

I found myself repeating things over and over & she STILL acted like she didn't hear me. I am a bariatric patient, so there are vitamins that I MUST take for life. She didn't seem to get that. She even told me that she asked a dr there (I don't know who) & they told her that I didn't need B12 injections. I may not NEED them, but that's what I prefer and have been doing for years. Just say your office doesn't prefer to do them. Don't tell me that research said I don't need it because I have "lapband" when I DO NOT HAVE LAPBAND. AGAIN, she didn't listen nor did she pay attention to my records. Where tf did she get lapband from?? Each bariatric procedure has different vitamin needs. So, maybe lapband patients don't need B12, but I DO. Anyway, the HIGHLIGHT of my 2-hour visit (because Kristine was SLOW AF) was the lab tech Ms. Becky & the checkout lady. That's a doggone shame that having tubes and tubes of blood taken was the BEST part of this visit. Smh. Just know that I will NEVER go back to see Kristine. I will drive to my regular provider 40 mins away before I ever go back to see her. And I made sure to tell the checkout lady to take her name OFF my record as a provider I'd want to see for future appts. I was given another person's name there, so if I get desperate enough to go there again, I will try that provider instead. The parking is horrible too. Just park in the back if you want to avoid the traffic nightmare. People just can't drive. This 3-stars is for the lab tech & checkout lady only. Unfortunately, the billing department provides poor service. I have twice been charged during a well visit for services that have been previously mentioned in other appointments. When I spoke to the billing department they said that I could not discuss anything that was a new illness during a well check up. I told them that I did not do this and they said that I must have brought up things other than what was allowed during my well checkup. I called Blue Cross and they told me that the office was improperly coding the visit and this should not have occurred. I will not be going to Village Family Care anymore or any Novant affiliated office.

Above all, he is personable, empathetic, and a great listener - critical values for a physician. Under his care, I have been in excellent health. The latest example being this past Saturday morning, I experienced UTI symptoms. I texted and Dr. Belcea immediately called. He said that Monday would be too late for me to see him in the office. With me on the phone, he quickly went over my record to determine the best antibiotics for me based on my medical history over the years. He pointed out that I had a side effect with one medicine which should be avoided this time. Within 30 minutes, the pharmacy texted that they were working on my prescription. And only 2 hours after I took the antibiotics, the symptoms were considerably subdued. All these things happened on a Saturday morning - his personal time. I have also been taking care of a family member, who is a senior with serious health issues. About two months ago, she was admitted to ER 4 times in less than 2 weeks. Dr. Belcea asked her to go to him instead of ER, no matter time and date. She hasn't been to ER since and is doing much better now. She said recently, "I feel so fortunate to be cared for by Dr. Belcea. To have excellent health as well as being able to avoid a life and death situation, the concierge fee is negligible."
