Good man. Good dentist. What can I say? He gets the job done! His name, however is Rex Payne, not Payne Rex.

Respectful, effective, reasonably priced. I've really appreciated having him for my entire family. A good practice.

I had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience with this office, which is especially…read moreupsetting because I had a great visit here last year and was very happy with their care at the time. This year, leading up to my annual cleaning, the office called me multiple times throughout the week asking me to move my scheduled Saturday 12:30 PM appointment to an earlier time (around 10 AM). I clearly explained each time that I work long hours and that 12:30 PM was the earliest I could come. Despite this, they continued to pressure me to change my appointment. On the morning of my appointment, they called again and told me they needed me to come earlier because "the doctor did not want to wait two hours for my appointment." I was also told they "usually close early," which makes me question why they even offer later appointment times if they are unwilling to honor them. I was then told that I would need to reschedule, even though I was fully willing and able to attend my original appointment. I had already rearranged my schedule and stacked multiple medical appointments on my only day off that week specifically to accommodate this visit. Like many working adults, I have very limited flexibility during business hours, and I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a healthcare office to respect a time slot that they themselves scheduled. As someone who works in healthcare, I found this extremely unprofessional and not patient-centered at all. When I later decided to cancel because I no longer felt comfortable with the level of professionalism, the receptionist simply said, "Okay, I will cancel your appointment and inactivate your account. Goodbye." No apology, no attempt to address the issue, no basic courtesy. Patients should not be made to feel like their time is less valuable than a provider's convenience. The lack of respect, communication, and professionalism throughout this entire interaction was shocking. I will not be returning and would not recommend this office based on this experience.

I asked her to get a quote to just have 2 removed that were bothering her and we would get the other 2 removed later. She was quoted $1200 and told the Dr that comes in to do extractions went up on his rates. In 2 weeks his rates changed. I ended up having her come to Richardson to get her wisdom removed and it was $267 TOTAL! She was told she also had a cavity, decided to have her get a 2nd opinion on that as well. Come to find out she has no cavity! I would avoid this office!

We usually request a private room, and we've always been accommodated. Dr. Whittington is so quick yet thorough. My son has never liked going to the dentist, but he feels comfortable here. We would definitely recommend this practice to anyone looking for a GREAT pediatric dental experience!

We love Dr. Whittington. We recently moved to the area and I have a 6 year old and 3 year old…read moredaughter. Neither of them exactly love the dentist but after our first visit here the girls actually enjoy coming back! We haven't had any cavities or any procedures done so I can't speak to that but one of my truest tests of dentists are if they jump to a procedure, or if they are more of a "wait and watch" person. Any dentist that will jump to a procedure will make me jump offices. So if that doesn't work out for us I will be sure to update this review! So far I don't love any of the hygienists. I LIKE them all and they are all nice but I expect more (the other office I came from in another state I feel like they went above and beyond and they were just amazing with the kids, over here it doesn't feel that way). BUT we do really love Dr. Whittington. He is patient, gentle and kind and explains everything to both the kid and the parent! My 3 year old isn't the easiest to deal with and she didn't want to sit in the patient's chair so he had her sit on my lap and lie back on a tilted board and she did great that way and he was able to brush, polish and get the fluoride varnish without her being mad! That is a win in my book.
