I've been going to Mason Dental in Grapevine for the past five years, and as someone with severe…read moredental phobia, I can honestly say they are amazing. I tend to get very anxious beforehand, especially when something unexpected happens, but from the moment you walk in the door, the entire staff and doctors make you feel comfortable and at ease. They use the newest dental technology and are clearly committed to continuously educating their staff, which really adds to the level of care and confidence you feel as a patient. The compassion, professionalism, and follow-up are truly exceptional. I also want to give a special shout-out to one of their newer dental assistants, Aubrey. She was an absolute pleasure to spend several hours with today, and for the first time ever, I'm actually looking forward to my next visit. I can't recommend Mason Dental enough

Be very cautious - all about money, not the patient…read more I visited Mason Dental for a new patient exam after calling ahead and confirming that my insurance will most likely be covered. I was told that insurance would be verified and that they would submit everything for a coverage estimate prior to treatment. After my exam and X-rays, I was informed that I had periodontal disease and would need scaling and root planing. I was also told I had approximately nine cavities and was strongly encouraged to proceed with laser treatment that was not covered by insurance. At no point did I feel I was given clear, conservative options or a breakdown of urgency versus elective procedures. The initial visit resulted in a $200 charge, and I was quoted approximately $800 for the recommended deep cleaning. Because the diagnosis felt significant, I sought a second opinion as I've never had periodontal issues and receive regular cleanings (I worked in the dental industry for years). At another dental office, I was told that I do not have periodontal disease and do not need scaling and root planning cleanings. Their review of my X-rays showed no signs supporting that diagnosis, aside from two isolated pockets near areas where my wisdom teeth had previously been extracted. Then was informed I have two areas on my molars that needed very small fillings on the occlusal areas. They were shocked my Mason Dentals treatment plan! Based on this second opinion, I'm concerned about the difference in diagnoses and the treatment plan I was given. I would recommend getting a second opinion before proceeding with Mason Dental.

I have nothing to say, but the best Dentist in all of DFW!! She treats you in a manner that, You want to come for another cleaning!! And who says that? Bedside manner is at 100%. She takes her time to explain to you in details what's going with your teeth, takes the most educated approaches that are best for the patient and not for the office. She makes you feel comfortable about yourself and your teeth. If there is something that needs addressing, she will make it right and her team are on board with communication. She motivates me to keep doing what I am doing and that I am turning out great! As soon as you walk into the office she is the first person I saw. Man was she happy to see me and my boyfriend back. I had not been back in a year and she remembers details about us that, I didn't even remember telling her. Her energy to take care of you is off the wall. Was seen at my appt time, everything organized, X-rays, Exam, procedure, cleaning, and pay with any follow up appt's. The receptionist is so nice, she kept constant communication with me via email to get my boyfriend and I seen together, I had emailed her the insurance copies so that everything was updated and ready for our appointment. What I like about this office, is Dr. Palhan does not recommend that you DO NOT NEED. She understands people are low on income and if she sees something you truly need then she will make the best judgement call per your health. They even gave me a small discount for my visit. I can keep going on and on, but never have I just been treated this good at any other dental office.

Dr recommended I get those xrays. Did that 2 days later, emailed to Dr office, made 2nd appt. Arrived, got into seat with xrays displayed on screen. Dental assistant went to get Dr on xrays. Came back, XRAYS TOO DARK CANT USE! I Left! Why not call me when received to tell me 'too dark'?! Saves everyone time. Don't understand digital xrays too dark-turn up the brightness! Just wants more $$$ per new patients. Watch out! I'm sure Mint Dentistry also follows the laws, and knows acceptable digital X-ray standards. Yet to say they are dark, fuzzy, blurred when those xrays were used during the exam, just questions the 'standard' ADA dentists subscribe to.

Takeaway: Every person in this office cares about their patients. This was by far the best dental experience I've ever had! Kelly, the office manager, stated that they frequently see people who haven't been to the dentist for years, so don't let fear of shame, pain, or financial ramifications keep you from the best care that you need from an all-star staff! Detailed Walkthrough: I received two mailers in the mail from two different dental companies. I set them aside and intended on making an appointment eventually. Like most people, I've had a fair share of lousy experiences with cruddy dentists. Eventually came sooner than later when my crown popped off and the temporary cement from CVS (which over the past few years has been working relatively well) didn't work. After several attempts at getting the sucker back on, I reluctantly dragged myself to the computer at midnight and began looking at the mailers, Groupon, and Yelp. Initial Impression: I was shocked that every review on here had 5 stars. I mean this is a dentist's office. You mean to tell me not a single person had a gripe? That's so rare. I was optimistically skeptical. What Drew Me Here: 1) Free first examination and x-rays for new patients. 2) Availability. I logged in early Sunday morning and had 5 time slots to choose from for the emergency appointment, to include the very first of the morning! The Process: (For those of you who want to know what you're walking into, are on the fence about going back to the dentist after bad situations, or are a bored voyeur looking for a glimpse of a random Yelper's experience.) I entered into a very clean, comfortable, and welcoming waiting room I was promptly greeted by the receptionist, Crystal, and the office manager, Kelly. Crystal handed me the new patient forms. Kelly, Crystal and I chatted while I filled out the paperwork. They treated me more like a family member than just a client. Denise took me to the room and I put down my belongings. She lead me to a state of the art x-ray machine and took the first set of x-rays. Another set of x-rays were taken. She offered me water before the doctor came in. She, too, was very friendly and was good conversation. Dr. Haghi came in and we discussed the results of the treatment options and settled on a treatment plan. She listened to my concerns and didn't (like every dentist I've been to before) talk down to me or demand I do what she said because she was the expert. Crystal came back and discussed my treatment plan and the associated costs. She explained that I could apply for CareCredit (if my credit was good enough) and we discussed the different ways the payments could be broken up. I needed a deep cleaning and she allowed me to choose whether or not to break it up into two appointments or get it over with in one. I was grateful to have the option to get it over with in one pop. Denise came in and put a small mask over my nose to administer the nitrous oxide and gave me a blanket. (I don't care how old I get; if you offer me the comfort of a blanket, I will take it!) Kevin, the hygienist, was very attentive during the deep cleaning and was very careful not to hurt me. He allowed me breaks for enough time to cough (I'm a mouth breather who clearly thinks I'm part fish and that I'll do okay aspirating water. That folks, is 100% my fault and 0% Kevin's fault.) After the cleaning, he took more x-rays and showed me that he actually did get all the gunk out from under the gum line. He scheduled me for my free one month follow up, gave me my "goody bag" of dental items, educated me on how to better maintain my mouth at home, and suggested products that are conveniently sold there at the office for a very fair price. I opted to get a tooth extracted. Denise assisted Dr. Haghi in the process. I think the shots to help numb the area were worse than getting the tooth pulled. The tooth extraction took about five minutes. The doctor consulted me on what I normally take for pain; wrote a prescription for mouthwash, antibiotics, and my pain medication. Denise administered oxygen for five and I chilled out to the streaming music in the office. I went up front and paid. My ride hadn't gotten there. So I had a chat with Crystal and Kelly until my ride showed.
