Instead of paying New York prices for alteration, I brought my dress to Brittany because there's just something about getting that gut feeling knowing you can trust someone with one of those important life events and one of a kind garments. She ended up doing a French Bustle on my 12-layer dress, adding boning to the top, bringing in the bust, shortening the dress by quite a bit, and switching out the skirts zipper for grommets and ribbon to allow for weight differences if I had any. When I returned for my first fitting, everything was perfect... there was no need for multiple trips, I took my dress home at our 2nd appointment! Talk about efficient and then her flawless work... no one would ever know my dress was altered, it looked like it was made for me specifically. I also had her alter my mother's dress which included shortening and adjusting the top to fit her shoulders better, my mom took her dress home the same day as I did. I can't recommend Brittany enough, seriously, anyone I hear that needs a seamstress especially for weddings, I rave about her customer service and beautiful work. Oh, by the way, her shop is adorable! It's spacious and welcoming, farmhouse chic and she has a bunch of wedding dresses and flower girl dresses available in shop to try on and/or purchase. I was doing my due diligence on trying to find a wedding dress seamstress for a dress I had my eyes on and found Judith via yelp. I decided to give her a call to get an estimate on what it would possibly cost to have the dress I wanted altered after trying it on at a boutique in Annapolis and she gave me a quick but very educational explanation on making sure the dress was measured correctly and to have things documented in the order sheet so what i pay for is what I receive. She then asked me who the designed of my dress was to see if I was getting a proper quote and told me that it was a bit higher than what it should be and advised me to call around other boutiques who might carry that designer to compare costs. I took her suggestion to heart and found the dress I loved at $200 less than what I was quoted for at the Annapolis shop! So thank you Judith for bringing that attention to me and taking the time to explain the run down on how to cost effectively and smartly purchase a wedding dress. The boutique I ended up buying my dress from has an in house seamstress so I won't be needing to take it to Judith but she helped me, in her own way, to buy the dress I wanted at a comfortable price and I am so grateful for that.

I canceled almost a month in advance and the will not credit the $20. "Our Wedding Dress Fitting Room Reservation Fee includes a private fitting room for you and your guests. You will be assisted with a personal SSYB customer specialist to ensure your bridal experience is one of the best moments of your special event. $20.00" I get charging a reservation fee to discourage no shows, and keeping the deposit when there is a no-show....but to keep $20 when a whole month notice was given is ridiculous! It literally doesn't make sense and is a very poor business practice. I have 2 daughters and have spent a lot of $$$ dollars through the years at this store with Proms and Homecoming ...They have definitely lost a loyal customer over this. To make money for doing nothing, especially in today's economy is robbery! They obviously have become very conceited and feel that they can rip their customers off without consequence.
