While my project started off with some challenges and the initial work did not meet expectations, everything changed once Jesse stepped in. We hired Revive after a dishwasher installation on 8/14/25 was done incorrectly, causing significant basement flooding. Unfortunately, what followed was months of delays, poor communication, questionable workmanship, and a lack of accountability. Mitigation immediately became drawn out. Despite frequent visits, our basement ceiling was not drying and ultimately had to be fully removed, and mold was discovered. We repeatedly had to follow up just to receive estimates and updates regarding the newfound mold and to begin the mitigation process. When rebuild discussions began, timelines continued to slip. During this process, cabinet faces that Revive had stored in our garage developed cracking that was not present on the rest of our kitchen cabinetry. Revive initially denied responsibility and would not provide reassurance if the damage worsens, which was very concerning. The final workmanship was also disappointing. The ceiling texture does not fully match the rest of the basement as promised, a hole around a light switch was left unfinished, and baseboard installation was delayed multiple times due to missing and incorrectly fabricated pieces. We were also told furniture would be moved for us, which did not happen. Billing added another layer of frustration. We were initially told we had been overcharged and would receive a refund, only to later be told that was incorrect due to their internal record-keeping errors. After many requests to see a detailed breakdown of costs it was discovered that a billing error was made in Revive's favor. If I hadn't been persistent we would have been overcharged around $800. Overall, this process stretched from August 14th until February 24th when the final bill was received and paid. We understand that restoration work can be complex, but the repeated delays, communication gaps, and quality concerns made an already stressful situation much more difficult than it needed to be. I would strongly encourage anyone to NOT work with Revive and if you must I would keep detailed records to ensure you are not being taken advantage of. read more

For mitigation: 5 stars, for rebuild: -10 Revive showed up very quickly after our water leak, they communicated well over the next few days of removing and drying wet materials. I got a text before each arrival of a team member and one letting me know they left for the day. No matter which team member I spoke with they generally knew what was going on, where I could direct a question they couldn't answer, etc. They did fantastic work and followed through on everything they said. Everything sailed through insurance without incident. And then the rebuild began. The estimator never visited the property and created an estimate that didn't align with the realities of the actual building and situation. My Project Manager didn't visit the site until the day before work was scheduled to begin (and then it was just to meet a subcontractor; I had to invite myself to actually speak with him in person for the first time.) I think the worst of my issues working with Revive stemmed from their attempt to plan a project based solely on pictures and drawings. But the manner in which they handled the fallout is what really made the project a nightmare for me. Their paperwork process is a mess, especially for handing changes (and changes ALWAYS arise in a construction project.) My project manager lied to me, ignored or forgot things we discussed and/or documented in writing, made countless mistakes but rarely acknowledged them once the truth emerged. He didn't inspect the work of his team or subs and acted indifferent to the concerns I raised when I had a chance to view it, even when I said I won't ask the issue to be corrected. Stains don't match, surfaces were not well-prepared for painting, I have unacceptable gaps between flooring and wall, etc. Revive's rebuild unit is the worst general contractor I can recall using (yet their markup on subs and materials may have been among the highest I've paid.) A GC earns their money for making a customer's life easier but Revive made my life immeasurably more difficult throughout the rebuild. It really felt like this was the first job they had ever done, though I know they've been around a long time (perhaps they haven't been in the rebuild business long tho?) Honestly I'd use them for mitigation again, but never, never for a rebuild. read more

We hired Revive Restoration for services at our home. Since July 11, 2025, they have withheld personal property, including items essential for the care of my mentally disabled brother. Despite repeated requests and partial returns--some returned with unauthorized expedited fees--they continue to hold belongings without lawful justification. On August 18, my mother contacted them to return more of his items; nothing was delivered, and they have failed to respond. We have formally contacted the Better Business Bureau and Wisconsin Disability Rights (DRW) to address these violations. Revive Restoration has failed to provide consistent communication or fulfill their contractual obligations. This review is to inform others and demand the immediate return of all withheld property. Consumers deserve transparency, lawful practices, and respect for personal property rights. read more

Contacted revive in spring of 2018 as we had water issues in our basement when we had heavy rain. They opened up a 6 foot area in the drywall to try and source the water. They said the issue was not a crack in the foundation, but must be something else (coming over the foundation on outside, landscaping, etc they thought but that we would have to find a different company). After repairing the wall and going through 5 years of continued issues, Zander tried several things to fix the issue. Finally they suggested opening up the wall, opened up a small hole, and said yup cracked foundation RIGHT WHERE REVIVE HAD THE WHOLE THING OPEN!!!! 0 water issues since then, even after this weekends huge rain. Was a good reminder to never use Revive and why I am writing, as 5 years and over 12k in extra costs later, go with OTHER COMPANIES than Revive. read more

I had extensive black mold damage to my condo from a leaking refrigerator while away from home for one week. Revive answered my frantic call a day after I returned home and had a crew out the next day. They began a 10 month restoration and rebuilt my condo from the studs up. Their care and concern to my belongings was great. The quality of building materials and their carpenter and painting staff along with all others in this company was exceptional. I've been home now for almost a year and everyday I marvel at the beautiful condo they rebuilt for me. They worked with my personal insurance company as well as the condo association insurance company to file claims. I recommend this company for any restoration needs. read more

I cannot express how terribly my huge mold remediation and rebuild project went, from start to finish. Their approach started off wonderful of course, they were "the gold standard" and sold me sand in the desert. I moved my four kids out of the home for them to do the work and it took 6 months longer than they originally said. They didn't show for days and wouldn't return calls. The contract was very confusing and and they should have been embarrassed to even send it...the manager quit halfway through due to ethics - her word, the subcontractors they used were Madison's lowest level as they bid out the the lowest taker and their inhouse staff were shuffled around so that the carpenter was doing my tilework and it has only been a year and it has all disintegrated- like the grout is in crumbles. I could list 187 more things they messed up royally and each time I walk by them it reminds me of just how taken advantage I was. Oh! And the mold? Still there in two of the places they cleaned per a HERTSMI. I had to get an attorney involved with their contract at the end and he was floored at how inflated it was. Long story short, do your homework with them, it was a complete over promise under deliver, they are slick and practiced at taking advantage of scared homeowners. While we were on a vacation, our ice maker decided to break. I gave Aquire Restoration a call right away Monday morning, and they had a team at our house within a few hours to begin drying out our floors and walls. Throughout the entire process they informed me what they were doing and how long the process would take. These guys were speedy! We contacted them for a mold-clean-up job and they were on it within a matter of days. The team that came out to the building was prompt and polite, communicating well about what was going on and what they were seeing & doing. It's hard to know what's going on when you've got people doing work in hard-to-get to areas (i.e., attics) so it helps when they come across as competent and trustworthy, as they did. We later had another vendor working in the same area and (not knowing them at all) he commented on the good work this company had done. We used aquire after a house fire that we had and I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. They did shitty construction in every part of the restoration from putting in a window and leaving it u fished do that air and water could get in all around it to the entire kitchen cabinets are pulling away from the wall and they out huge spacers behind them. I should have seen trouble coming when the installer was reading the instructions!!! Poor construction nothing up to code. Do not use this company unless you want the value of your house to go down while bills pile up for redoing the work they did just to make the house livable again! read more
