I found Rapid Response Remediation through yelp projects after my basement sustained a little bit…read moreof flooding with the storm, and I had a hard time getting a hold of anyone (phones hung up on me, long wait lists, price gouger from Chicago). My basement was not nearly as bad as other people's, and I wanted help cleaning and with mold. They got back to me within a couple of days while I was on other companies' waitlists. They could have come out the same evening, but I had them wait until the next day which was more convenient. They came out, provided an estimate. I had questions, and I was able to say what I wanted done (eg. I didn't want the air purification for $1000 since my HVAC system has an air purification system in it that takes care of mold spores or the wall paint to protect from mold for $200 since I am already on a list to have my basement waterproofed in a month, and the walls are going to be dealt with). They were amenable to the changes. They were able to schedule me for the next day and do the work. They provided me with updates of the project. They took out more drywall than anticipated, but that's fine. I'll refinish the basement later. Garrett and Justin were both helpful. I recommend them. They listened, they were prompt, and I feel after talking with others in similar situations, the price was fair. They also did not demand insurance. I paid upfront.

Garrett identified additional areas of mold that I hadn't noticed. His crew was quick, professional, and thorough. Price was very reasonable especially compared to some of the quotes I heard floated from some of the bigger names and out of state firms. A solid Wisconsin company.

My stepdaughter was getting stuffy noses every time she stayed with us; so finally we found Steve and his crew. They were very easy to work with and made it easy for someone who had no idea what to expect. We paid $230 16-17 cents AND our dryer vent. After our appointment we were having this weird black dust coming up every time the fan ran on our furnace, so I contacted Steve to see if this was normal (since we've never had this done before). He explained to me that it was not normal, and he sent his crew back out the next week to look at the vents and vacuum them out again. They actually discovered that our vents were rusting and that was the cause of this dust! I am so appreciative that they came back out and just made sure we were well taken care of!

After he left, I ended up cleaning off dirt from the wash machine, dryer, cleaned inside the dryer, and, he also left lots of lint on the laundry room floor and chunks of lint outside of the home that had to be picked up. Steve didn't give the opportunity to see how much lint he extracted. Steve arrived late and was only here for about 1/2 hour or less and charged about $119. We felt overcharged for this service.

They were trustworthy, quick and knowledgeable, polite and personable. Removed the fan and drywall that had been wet and sprayed where needed. They also did well to clean up after their work. I had a friend do the repair but I'm sure that would have gone smoothly as well. I would definitely call them again for any other water damage issues!

They were prompt in coming over to begin the job and spent three days working in my house before leaving dehumidifiers on over the weekend. They had set up sensors to monitor the temperatures and humidity levels over the weekend but failed to check them. I came over to my house on a whim to check on it, and I found that the house had been heated to over 130 degrees on the bottom floor and 140 degrees on the top floor. The tech in charge told me that he was at a cookout drinking with friends and forgot to check the sensors. This overheating exploded wine bottles, cleaning supplies, and cosmetics and caused tens of thousands of dollars of additional damage to furniture, caulk, paint, and other personal items. Certi-Dry assured me that they would fully repair the damage they caused and replace all of the damaged items on numerous calls and in numerous emails. That was until they realized how much damage they'd caused and how expensive the repairs would be. It is now 10 weeks since the initial damage caused by the flood and 9 weeks since Certi-Dry damaged my home because of their negligence, and Certi-Dry (specifically Tyrone and the owner Dave) are refusing to give me a timeline about when they will complete repairs or replace items. I'm still living in a semi-functional and damaged home and I've had to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket to replace items they damaged. Be very wary of working with this company. They are negligent and refuse to follow through on promises to fully repair and replace the damage.
