I did my BLS renewal here at Revive CPR at the Townsend St location. This was my first experience with Revive CPR and it was excellent! Roy is a great instructor. He is friendly, efficient, and helpful. I learned a lot in the time we did the skills portion of the course. The Townsend location is conveniently located near public transportation and is easy to find. There are plenty of signs both outside and inside the building so you can find your way. I love how quick it is to register for class online and how many classes are on the calendar schedule. In the past few years, I have taken two other hands-on CPR skills sessions, but this time I really felt like I got a grasp on what to do and how to perform CPR. The class was excellent! I didn't feel overwhelmed once I started performing the CPR sequence because we started slow and the instructor was encouraging. The class was to-the-point, and he answered all my questions as well as gave me tips. I just needed to recertify for work, so i wanted a short, inexpensive class. This class was shorter and less expensive than the other guys in SF that i used last time. And unlike the other place, i could pay online - i didn't have to bring cash or a check (who uses checks?). Parking was free since it was Sunday, and Roy seemed organized and clear. I was dreading my BLS CPR renewal but this experience was great! The class was $67 for 3 hours. I paid $80 at another company in the past and it was a jam packed class for 4 hours. Roy was absolutely wonderful and made the class fly by! The class sizes are small (mine had 6 people) and you get personalized time with the defibrillator. Plus you get cute keychains with simplified CPR masks inside! Great company and great instructors! Would definitely recommend :) read more

I dont write many reviews so im not sure how it all works but i only write about the ones that were excellent! I give this company a 5 star rating. First, I work in the medical field as a MA and the business that I work at is getting bought out. I hadnt updated my CPR training in a while so I decided that this would be the best time to renew my card (most medical facilities prefer American Heart Association affiliation, which this company is). I signed up on a Wednesday and immediatly found space for the Saturday morning class which was quite convenient :-) I dont really have much to compare with price wise since this has been my second time doing it, but when I was looking at the other companies they were asking for 75+ and this particular class was much less, about 10-20 dollars if you saw what the other places were asking for. When we got a confirmation email letting us know the minor details, it also said that they would provide water, tea, & coffee and you can brings snacks which I thought was awesome since the time frame was about 3 hours. Upon arrival the instructor, Roy seemed very friendly and easy to talk to. The class size was small which is great because you get more one-on-one with the instructor and your classmates. Roy def. broke everything down so you could understand it and even participated with us, he wasnt like just a text-book-for-three-hours kind of guy. Very hands on and always in good spirits. A lot of techniques changed around since the last time I took a CPR class but he made sure to make everything easy, fun, and understandable. My partner and I both attended Roys class and it was awesome. We both work in the healthcare field and, even so, Roy taught us some great tricks. He clearly enjoys teaching and makes sure his students understand and are competent upon leaving. I took the class at Fort Mason which was easy parking, quick in and out. Roy was a great instructor and I really enjoyed my BLS for Healthcare Professionals class. Most of the people in my class were there for their renewal, but I didn't feel that the class moved at a faster pace because of that. Roy really took the time to make sure I was understanding everything which I appreciated. The free bottled water, free snacks and coffee were a nice touch. He gave us a few breaks for coffee or the bathroom which were also appreciated. Definitely recommend this place and I will be back for my renewal in two years. Thank you, Roy! read more

It didn't feel like a classroom environment to me with the bright lighting, but rather a therapeutic yellow light, and I absorbed the information much better along with laid back teaching style by Roy. I was in a small size class for my CPR seminar today and it was very helpful. On top of that, the instructor Roy was so nice which made it easy to ask questions. The class didn't seem rushed like some other CPR classes I've attended, and the content was efficient. The class was more hands-on and less watching videos, which to me is more useful. $57 to renew, free coffee, and friendly service Can't beat that! First this is the best priced BLS/CPR in the Bay area and Roy, the owner still teaches most of his classes. I can't say enough good things about him. He is an excellent teacher, I walked away with two new tips I had never heard before even though I've been a nurse for 12 years and have done countless BLS recertifications over the years. Previously I used the company Safety Training which has many locations around the Bay area but its way more expensive and lacks the quality of training I received at my last check off with Roy at Revive. He gives you a free pocket mask, wallet card and print offs with references you can refer back too....again, I have done this certification online many times and usually just go for the hands on check off...I was in and out under an hour and covered things I had not previously been told before....it's nice to see he still has such enthusiasm about what he does even though he's been teaching this stuff for years....I highly recommend his Center... definitely the best in the City! read more

This "Heartsaver" CPR/AED class taught me so much in just over two hours! Roy was an excellent instructor. I learned a lot and really feel like I have the skills to perform CPR and use and AED in the event of an emergency now. I did not have this kind of confidence after the group course I had in the past. The small class size really makes a difference. Even though the class was in the Fort Mason "annex" location vs. the main one on Townsend with more amenities, I found it more than sufficient--and you can't beat the view! I have been an RN for many years and this was by far the best CPR renewal course I have taken. It was easy to sign up and the class was offered at Fort Mason where there is plenty of parking. I chose the option to do the online exam and then the skills check. It was great! The class itself was the perfect balance of information and practice. We weren't quite looking forward to 2.5 hours of CPR heartsaver training as one can imagine, but Roy made the experience enjoyable and packed in all the information in a clear, efficient way. There were three other people in the class besides us beginners-- one person getting re-certified, and then an elderly couple there to learn how to help each in the case of an emergency. Roy was skilled at keeping us on pace while spending extra time helping the older couple, which was sweet. He was very conscious of our time, gave us breaks, and managed to teach us everything and answer all questions. Roy Gordon, the teacher, is a terrific teacher of the Healthcare Provider CPR class, which I attended today. By keeping class size to 6, everyone had a chance to practice the techniques of assessment, rescue breathing, compressions and abdominal thrusts, several times. The adult mannequins have a light indicator that gives you feedback on whether your compressions are adequate. He encourages questions and conversations, but also knows how to work with chatty people (or else you might never get out of there!). The reason for the 4 stars is that the location in San Francisco is North Beach, making parking a huge challenge. Also, the space for practicing CPR (kitchen/eating area) is not entirely conducive to spreading out and there are other patrons from the same building going in and out. These flaws are more than compensated by Roy's friendly personality and expertise in the subject matter. read more

I just wanna say that I have been to 3 other BLS-CPR classes in the last 10 years as a healthcare provider, and by far, this is the BEST one! The instructor, Miranda, is friendly & professional, very thorough & knowledgeable. The class size is small & non-intimidating. There were only 2 of us students who attended the class, which turned out to be a huge advantage as we received close monitoring & adequate feedback for a better learning experience. Miranda made sure that we got it all correctly from the theory to the appropriate skills expected of a healthcare worker helping save a life. I like the venue, it's very conducive to learning with lots of parking outside. I also commend Roy (the one behind it all) who made it easy for me to reschedule this class, as I was sick & unable to attend on the date I originally signed up for. It was a very smooth, stress-free arrangement, & the reschedule fee of $25 was no big deal. read more
