I started regularly donating platelets here after realizing that I have a high platelet count earlier this year. I try to go weekly when I can and it's easy to book and manage appointments via their Blood Donor App. With the platelet donation process taking a total of around 3 hours, doing the Rapid Pass on the app beforehand is super appreciated by the staff! The location is easily accessible by public transit - I take the 6/7 bus lines from home or the N, K, J, M Muni lines from FiDi. I was a little confused about how to enter the building at first since a security guard needs to buzz you inside. Absolutely love all of the staff. They are super helpful, kind, and attentive throughout the whole process. Even when I had a needle infiltration, I was well taken care of! I was also turned away often in the beginning for low hemoglobin but the staff was very knowledgeable & appreciative. I usually come in at 2PM and it's pretty empty with no wait. I have never done a walk-in red blood donation but I often see a lot of quick walk-ins with no wait time as well. Each platelet donation station has a TV with all the streaming platforms and headphones to listen with. The center is always well-stocked with snacks and donor gifts every time I come in. Highly recommend!

Dear friends, I sit here in Long Island New York and feel helpless as I watch the Heartbreak of the many currently raging wildfires that have devastated so many people's lives. In just a few short days. The Loss has been unfathomable.. with some of these monster California Fires burning at a rate of 30 football fields a minute...(That's "30"a minute!) These horrific wildfires have claimed countless animals and resulted in billions of dollars in damage. I was emotionally shaken to hear of how many who lost their lives.. where discovered in their cars fleeing the hell. I cannot thank FIREMAN, FIRST Responders, POLICE.. and all of Our Heroes enough for their incredible dedication selfless actions and tireless heroic efforts. Thank you to all who battle these fires from our firemen and First Responders, police and Community Folk armed with only a hose and shovel. I pray and praise you all who rushed selflessly to Aid .. .. and they continue to fight these fires as we speak.. as I am writing. You can do something small.. it won't take but a few minutes if you want to help.. you can do it now with the phone right in your hand.. just text to REDCROSS to 90999 for a $10..Donation! Safety Training Seminars - BLS CPR Renewal Classes in San Francisco Mission Bay

    Safety Training Seminars

I would STRONGLY advise anyone in need of CPR certification/recertification to seek out any…read moreprovider other than Safety Training Seminars. Their lowest price guarantee is a bait and switch tactic. They are incredibly unscrupulous; their form to report lower prices tries to scare you into staying with them by essentially outright stating that other lower cost providers are scams, and you won't be certified. I signed up for a class offered with a "discount" code for a total of $100; $120 class - $25 "discount code" + $5.00 to actually get your card (not sure what the option would be here if you didn't pay it. No card to prove you ever certified I suppose). After this I found two classes with other providers for $70 and $79; when I inquired about price matching the $70 one, they refused, saying the company was based in Ohio, even though the class was offered in San Jose, clearly the Bay Area. As for the $79 one, they refused to match it because they said it was BLS CPR not Pediatric, implying I had signed up for a Pediatric course, which I hadn't. And for good measure, they said they also couldn't match it because it was instructor led and theirs wasn't. Apparently it's more expensive to provide classes without instructors versus with instructors; who knew? Just another example of what a disingenuous money-grab this outfit is that will do anything possible to avoid honoring a price match, citing some absurd differences between courses and overly stringent requirements. They've written an impossibly complex price match than that allows them to deny any while saying they're honoring it in wording when they are most certainly not honoring it in spirit. And if they can't find a reason they'll just make one up by saying you're taking a different course when you're not, etc. So it's really not a price match at all, just a bait and switch. That and the willingness to lose a repeat customer, and any other customers this review may dissuade from using Safety Training Seminars, at $70-$120 a piece in order to avoid a $30 price match, shows the complete lack of business sense and utter disregard for their customers that this business holds. So if you want to be treated like a piece of meat, a number, simply someone to bilk for whatever they can Safety Training Seminars is for you. If not, then I would strongly encourage you to seek out any number of other providers that will value you as a customer and provide a better experience for nearly half the price. There are much more affordable options in the Bay Area, including Lifework for $70 and Cascade Training for $79, you also get the added benefit of actually having an instructor. And hey, you might even find those other providers actually remember customers are people, and should be valued.

I did the 8-week course and they increased my intelligence and I am eternally grateful for them doing that. They increased my confidence & allowed me to build social connections with both fellow students and instructors. I want to thank everyone that helped me because not only did they believe in me but they also motivated me to be a better human being, full of compassion & willingness to assist during emergencies. Steve Albright is the lead instructor and he is gifted at teaching and he is hilarious with his style of teaching. This man is very much a father figure and someone I learned a lot from aside from the medical material, he is truly a pleasure to be around and he lifts up peoples' spirits even though everything can be stressful. Michael believed in me and expressed it in a way that I can never thank enough. I value my newly acquired friendship with Michael and I definitely felt his passion for teaching and "his" love for his students. He is a great instructor who I am proud to have been guided by in this process of becoming a Emergency Medical Technician. He believed in me more than I believed in myself and that is something that money cannot buy. Henry taught me so much and gave me a platform to grow and thrive upon. He was so amazing at teaching and building confidence without putting pressure and it allowed for one to practice like they would in "real-life", therefore it is impossible for me to thank him enough. Nav guided me in situations that are stressful her guidance in tough scenarios which is something I will never forget. Her military expertise is something that I admire and will never forget her words and they will stick with me forever. She also enlightened me with potential career opportunities for someone like me, she did this for all of the students and I'm 100% positive that everyone gained confidence from her insight. Kristian was an amazing instructor who sharpened my skills with his style of teaching. He really helped cement my confidence and that is something I truly needed and value. I know that he didn't just want me to succeed but to also help the patients/people that we serve. The time that we spent together was not nearly enough because he had so much more to give and I had so much more to learn from him, however the time that we did spend was maximized and as I mentioned I am forever grateful for his time and energy. Patrick is like a friend who I have known my entire life and he is a wise teacher who made the learning experience more enjoyable and he reminded me why I am even doing this in the first place. He reminded me of my core values and the type of person I want to be, which is compassionate, sociable, and an intelligent leader who can get things done under pressure. This man is a person that everyone likes to be around and that is something I wish to emulate. Overall, this has been a life changing course unlike any other course that I have taken. I truly cherish these people and they are all heroes which deserve everything that life has to offer because they are doing it from the heart. I am proud to be a Bay Area Training Academy graduate and I will do my best to represent them as I move forward in my life. They are truly all beautiful souls who deserve nothing but the best and coming to the academy was one of the best decisions of my life. I feel more equipped to handle family emergencies as my elders age around me and in my daily life. I am excited to continue my education and these are people that I want to keep close to me. I feel like i found my "people"/tribe. I cannot wait for what the future brings and: Thank you for everything BATA, I love all of you! Sincerely, Raul Angel Maravilla (EMT212AL)
