They increased my confidence & allowed me to build social connections with both fellow students and instructors. Steve Albright is the lead instructor and he is gifted at teaching and he is hilarious with his style of teaching. This man is very much a father figure and someone I learned a lot from aside from the medical material, he is truly a pleasure to be around and he lifts up peoples' spirits even though everything can be stressful. Michael believed in me and expressed it in a way that I can never thank enough. I value my newly acquired friendship with Michael and I definitely felt his passion for teaching and "his" love for his students. He is a great instructor who I am proud to have been guided by in this process of becoming a Emergency Medical Technician. The time that we spent together was not nearly enough because he had so much more to give and I had so much more to learn from him, however the time that we did spend was maximized and as I mentioned I am forever grateful for his time and energy. Patrick is like a friend who I have known my entire life and he is a wise teacher who made the learning experience more enjoyable and he reminded me why I am even doing this in the first place. He reminded me of my core values and the type of person I want to be, which is compassionate, sociable, and an intelligent leader who can get things done under pressure. This man is a person that everyone likes to be around and that is something I wish to emulate. Overall, this has been a life changing course unlike any other course that I have taken. Though he seemed to be a good instructor, it turns out,…read morehe was NOT AFFILIATED with AHA, a training center that was in process for being affiliated with him never received paperwork for him, our paperwork was NEVER sent in for the cards--he took the money and ran. After two months of trying to track him down, disconnected phone numbers, bounced back emails, lies about him being in a medical emergency/coma...trying to get our cards, he replied that we should just "contest the charges" on our credit cards. Both training centers he was supposedly affiliated with have disavowed any knowledge or culpability for his actions (though, they were listed as his director, how we found him on the AHA website!) and the AHA shrugs and says "I'm sorry you went through that" but they are not responsible. Meanwhile--3 months and no cards--? HOW THE F@%* can a fellow health care worker/first responder DO THIS SORT OF THING TO HONEST PEOPLE?!! Avoid anything associated with Zac Weiner. PERIOD! Edit--This business is CLOSED. he's packed up and closed shop. The website has been pulled off their host server. His name does not come up on the AHA website. So be aware of any new businesses he's bound to start up under a different name.

I cannot stress how chill and nice he was. The course was taking a toll on my physical and mental health, but Scottie's cheerful optimism kept me going. He truly embodies positive energy and makes lectures so much more bearable. His storytelling and advice were very eye-opening as well. I regret not approaching him for help more often. However, unsurprisingly, it's very rigorous. For anyone looking at an 8-week course, you will spend 20 hours a week: 10 hours on lectures (MW or TTh; 5 hours each) and 10 on skills (Sunday); of course, with breaks in between. Lectures will cover 6 chapters per week, and you will take lecture exams every weekend on the day of your skills instruction. You should be able to dedicate a huge amount of time to reading through the course material (at least 20 hours imo). So please reconsider your decision if you're planning to work or study full-time during the course. Otherwise, give it a shot! Be cool and professional, and most important of all, make sure you have a great time. I promise you, it'll be worth it.

He also gave me information about the school that had me really excited to come and be a student here. 2. Melissa: I have not really spent as much time with Melissa as I have Tina but every time I have asked her for help she was always there. Especially when I had assignments were due and the printer in the lab was not working, she would come in and fix it like it's nothing. Such a life-saver and a grade saver! 4. Nicole: Even though she is not at this location anymore she still had did a lot for me especially making sure that my paperwork for my stuff was done. She is one of the few people that have called me to give me reminders about things that needed to be done or that were going to be due. 5. Not even a month into it and I was regretting and dragging my feet to in everyday. My 1st instructor taught use more about his personal life then the actual subject. Didnt follow the way he was supposed to teach us whiched caused a big issue for those who were going to go into the next class. He passed everyone regardless. Had a motor project and passed us all even though none of us got the motor to work. He didnt really even try to get it running. You don't learn in the traditional way. You don't learn from A-Z. They will throw you in wherever the class is currently at. So you maybe learning the very end of the book before you even learn the beginning of the book which is bad if you are completely new to the subject and don't have any knowledge or experience. You don't jump into HVAC right away which is normal. You'll be doing electrical theory but my instructor didn't even go over HVAC electrical. I was learning more how to be an electrician then HVAC technician. Once I got into HVAC I was told in was going to take my certification test at the end of that month. Which is beyond stupid. They gave me a study packet to help prepare me for the test. By the time I had to take the test I failed of course but wasnt worried. Was told i had 3 attempts to take the test. The very next day after I took the 1st test i was told to take it again, and again I failed. The day after the 2nd test I was told to take it again and use the study packet because the head of the campus wants us to pass. Probably to give him a bonus or something like that. Well I'm not going to pay them to cheat on my future. I tried to talk them but the head of the campus "wasn't in today". I tired to call and kept going in to talk to him about why they wanted me to cheat. But kept getting the same response. I called them and told them I was dropping out because the cheating was the last straw. Then it seemed like they actually cared about my problem. I finally got calls back from the school and told them why I was leaving but the lady seemed not to really be paying attention and wanted me to go in and sit down with the head of the campus. I wasn't going to waste my time with them anymore. Said in was going to go in but didn't. I told them about it and they didn't seem to care until I left.

I searched for various options and Anna's version is practical for parents (not necessarily meant for folks who are looking to get certified) and cost effective. On the day of the class, we met in an auditorium with about 16 others; most of whom are new parents/parents-to-be like us. Anna had infant and child size dolls for us to practice on and she stressed the importance of muscle memory. We started with handling choking scenarios and then moved onto the CPR. Everyone had plenty of opportunities to practice and ask questions. I hope that we will never have to use the skills we learned in Anna's class but at the very least, it makes us feel more comfortable knowing what to do in case our baby needs us.
