I do not recommend this business ( Granitops, LLC In Elm City NC ) to anyone for the following…read morereasons: I met with Bret , Owner/Operator and shared with him a video/ pictures of the work that need to be completed to use granite to frame my shampoo niches in my walking shower- I explained to him that the wall tiles need to be cut to place the granite frame on the niches- He agreed and sent Justin and Ben during the first week of February 2023 to take the measurements of the frame . They both were great and I again explained to both of them what needs to be done and what Bret and I discussed- Justin stated that he was present when I was at the office and shared video/ pictures of the project with Bret and that he is aware of cutting the tiles and that he told Bret at that time they have to purchase a tile blade to do it . Two days after they left my home , I went back and met with Bret Owner/Operator to review the project again and give him a partial payment. We both agreed on cutting the tiles and installing the frame on the shower niches. He took the money and told me they will start working on fabrication of the frame . I went back three times to the shop and talk to Bret two times during these three visits and everything was going as planned. Bret called me on 2/20/2023 and informed me that they are coming to install the niche's frame Friday 2/24/2023. On my own , I went to his office on Thursday 2/23/2023 and paid him the final payment because I thought I was dealing with an honest local business. Justin and Ben showed up Friday 2/24/2023 to install the frame and Justin was very apologetic telling me that Bret told them not to cut tiles and to let me know when the tiles are cut to call Bret and re-schedule them to come back to install the frame . They left the frame with me . On Friday 2/24/23 at 11am - I called the shop and spoke with Bret Owner/Operator. He was totally a different man , yelling/ screaming and telling me that his guys are not going to cut tiles . I explained to him that I paid him in full and visited the shop three times after his staff came to take the measurements and he did not mention anything about not cutting tiles. I reminded him that I shared with him videos/pictures of the work. He refused to acknowledge and kept yelling "when you have the tiles cut will come back and install the frame " . I could not reason with him and he treated me very very bad on the phone by yelling and screaming at me about not cutting tiles and he would not acknowledge that Justin shared with him that they have to cut the tiles around the niches to install the granite frame . Bret Owner/ Operator behaved in matter that is very disrespectful and unprofessional to his paid IN FULL customers , denying everything we discussed and the pictures/video I shared with him when we agreed on the project. I trusted this business and did a handshake agreement with Bret Owner/Operator and without requirements, I paid him in full prior to completing the work . It's my opinion based on my experience with the owner/operator of this business that he can not be trusted and I highly do not recommend his company for any work and if you have to do work with this company , no matter how big or small the project is going to be , please take time to put it all in writing and have Bret sign it and date it and do not pay them until the work is completed . I do not recommend this business to anyone.

When all of the materials necessary for each job were received the projects began. The owner and his crew were on the job daily until all work was completed. We were so happy with the results on the first job, the kitchen, that we didn't need to consider other contractors when we redid our bathroom. The owner and crew were easy to work with, efficient and extremely skillful. There is no question that if we needed other projects done, we'd just call HOSCO. I can not say enough about how fantastic he, his staff, and their dedication to their profession. Lawrence did our backsplash. He came and tackled this project. The lines are perfect. Even when a backsplash tile broke after installation they were on top of it and got it replaced within a couple days.

We had marble countertops installed in two of our downstairs bathrooms and these people were fine…read moreto deal with until the installation. First of all, the installers marked up our walls while installing the countertops. That is not unusual, based on past installations, this happens. The installers did not want to remove two of the fixtures from the old countertops or caulk around their countertops. We called their manager to ask if this is something they do and he said yes they should do it. After calling the manager, the installers got mad and marked up our walls with their caulk. We have dark brown walls but these people used bright white caulk (not clear caulk) which made it obvious where they decided to wipe their hands on our walls and all their crooked lines. I have pictures of their work. In addition, they did not save all the parts of the old fixtures that we had requested they save to be reused by us. We spent hours later trying to buy the right size plumbing to replace what they had carelessly thrown away. In addition, we found out later that Southern Stone had not properly caulked/grouted the sinks to the countertops so they leaked below underneath into cabinets. We had also brought our new fixtures (which were the same as the old fixtures) with us when we ordered the marble so they would have the proper cut out dimensions for the fixtures and cut the marble accordingly, which did not happen. Because of this, we also had to hire plumbers they recommended who said we would have to recut the marble or use different fixtures. We did neither of their recommendations and did the work ourselves. We had to live with no running water for a few weeks until we got the parts for the sinks. Their caulking had to be scraped off and the walls repainted. Again, I wish I could post the pictures of their work for you. We will be using Hoover Custom Tops in Kinston NC to install kitchen and laundry room countertops next month.
