The way the event was handled was dangerously neglectful and caused her almost her life. The care aide did her job better than her superior. She called me promptly as she suspected something was wrong although there is a language barrier. LPN needed to be told to take the patient's vitals, to call 911 etc. When someone is experiencing a stroke, time is of an essence, LPN should know this. The facility did not have an aspirin at the nursing station facilitating hundreds of elderly. The LPN was playing a video game (on his phone) during the residence stroke event, having to be prompted to keep an eye on her vitals so we can report to the ambulance team any observable changes when they arrive. Aging is never easy, and health challenges are inevitable, but neglect, incompetence, and lack of compassion of this institution and its leaders should be addressed immediately before more people are harmed. If you are a senior with a handicap expect to be neglected and abused in this facility. If you do not speak English or speak a little English don't even think about staying in this inhuman establishment. My mother together with our whole family has had the most horrible experience. The management and administration team are inconsiderate and uncompassionate for the facility that operates with vulnerable seniors. Shameful! Most care staff are trying to be nice. I feel bad for them bc the management is making their job unnecessarily more complex. They are doing their best in spite of the vindictive leadership. God is our witness. You had two and half years to show what kind of a facility and management you are and how you care for those most vulnerable. We tried every possible diplomatic process with you until we ran out of options other than proceeding legally. You have left blind woman, with complex post-traumatic stress disorder that does not speak English in complete isolation, neglected her physical, medical and mental health needs, basic hygiene, her specialized diet needs and only God knows what else that we are not aware of. As a manager who made decisions that profoundly affected this elderly's life, I hope you are ashamed of your leadership and impact your choices affected someone in your care. I am happy to talk about this. If and when you change your perspective and are willing to work with us in mitigating the situation that is causing my mom to live in complete isolation, with no social, emotional or physical stimulation for 90% of the day, then please contact me. I wanted to write a review for this wonderful facility and its accompanying staff who have been such a comfort during this time. My mother's health has had many ups and downs over the past year, with significant low points and some glimmers of hope. Despite the ever changing nature of her prognosis, the hospice doctors, social worker, and nurses have all gone above and beyond to provide resources and suggestions every step of the way. As the primary caretaker for my mother, I never felt in the dark about anything in the decision-making process - their professional input and compassion have been absolutely invaluable. A special shout out to Vivien, Julie, Tui, Yuki, Koko and Ramon, who have been absolutely indispensable in ensuring my mom is comfortable and cared for. If you ever find yourself in the difficult position of choosing a hospice for a loved one, I highly recommend Cottage, you won't regret it.

Until then she had lived in her own home, so it was an enormous transition. She was treated so warmly and lovingly by the staff there. Change is hard, and much more so at her age. As her only child, I couldn't have asked for a better new home for her. She moved so all of her family could be nearby, and it turned out to be an ideal situation. Cedar Springs Parc gave her a social life that kept her busy and active for her remaining years. I will forever be grateful for the staff making her feel so vital and alive and for encouraging her to live a full life.

My mother-in-law is elderly and needs help with cleaning her bathroom, linens, laundry and kitchen (ie microwave, stove, rice cooker, etc). Their staff are friendly, punctual and understanding of the clients needs . We use all natural products in the house and their staff is knowledgeable on what products are best used on surfaces. Due to severe short staffing at the nursing home during the pandemic, all the residents at the nursing home received sub-standard care and the mortality rate was high. My father would have long perished if we didn't have ATFY. We were extremely impressed by the dedication, empathy, and genuine caring of all the staff. Their fees are also lower than other agencies. My family would highly recommend ATFY if both the budget and level of care are your criteria in selecting agencies.
