I can only speak to my encounters with the front desk, my Aunt's nurse and two other aides in the hallways. This mornings nurse was outstanding! She was kind and loving when relaying to my cousin, her vitals, condition and what the doctor had discussed with her. The other three staff members were nice as well. I don't know about the quality of the on going care but today's visit was a pleasant one.

Tried to keep the whole damage deposit for regular wear and tear.. After fighting them they gave it back to us.... No concern for their aging tenants during the renovation either... Many items went missing and they kept blaming my mother whose faculties were all there!

This place is like renting an apartment, but it comes with meals and light housekeeping and laundry service. There are also activities such as exercise room, movie theater room, outdoor barbecue area, piano lounge, and other things to network with other seniors. 24 hour staff will ensure a resident's safety. You can have meals delivered to your room or you going to have somebody remind you to come for meals. Regular outings to the dollar store or the drugstore for residents by way of the private bus. It's all about keeping the residents happy and making it easy for them. The location is really nice, being only a block or two away from world-famous Granville Island. Lots of quiet streets for going walking or shopping. You'll need to contact this business and set up an appointment for your mom or dad to have an assessment. They want to make sure it's a good match. If there's some dementia it's probably not a good match. They cannot keep any of the guests locked in, they are free to come and go, so the resident must know enough to get back here safely. Otherwise it is very safe and secure with somebody at the front desk at all ours who will buzz people in and out. Coffee and snacks available most of the time in the lobby. Nice and clean facility with friendly staff. Don't wait too long to get your family member on board at Terraces on Seventh.

My husband and I visited several to help us choose a place for my mother who has dementia. We looked at private and public institutions. Windermere does a mix of private and public, meaning that you can ask to be admitted and pay privately or hope that the public system puts you in there first. If the system puts you in somewhere else you can let them know that Windermere is your preferred place. My husband and I visited the centre separately but came to the same conclusion. We felt that the atmosphere was more convivial than most other places. As well there seemed to be a good mix of male and female residents as well as staff. Everyone seemed happy. My mother has been living there now almost 8 months and I am so grateful that we have made the right choice. Our hunch was accurate. The staff is very respectful, kind, courteous and cheerful not just to the residents but to each other as well. I don't think I could ask for better treatment for my mother from a private institution. In fact I have been told by someone with first hand experience that the treatment her mother received at a private institution was horrible. I hope you will visit the place and ask for a tour. This place truly is as good as it gets. God bless every member of staff.

The manager began a renovation after this and did not provide any of the prepaid rent in return after stating that he would do what was "fair". The location and front staff are great, but the food services and management are underwhelming to say the least. At the end of the day money is what drives this place. Make sure you take the time to speak to the residents who currently live there. Be sure and ask about the food and management.

The staff is amazing including the caring and patient Josephine at the front desk, Mohinder who always smiles as she helps keep the building clean and Veena who runs the hair salon. Jean is the exceptional recreation director and Michelle the perfectly chosen general manager. All in all, Cavell is accommodating of the varied needs of their residents and in addition to an elected residents' council there are groups for so many interests like sewing, gardening,knitting, exercise, movies, cards and trips to restaurants, shopping and picnics. There is a pretty garden in which to sit, parks in the area and Main Street's shops and transit is only a block away.

They have a convenient location on a pedestrian boulevard in the west end. They also host single mom meet ups, senior's and children's activities.
