I was here for the famed (infamous?) Texas Eclipse Festival with 30,000-40,000 others. While the festival itself had some problems with organization that were completely unrelated to the ranch itself, I enjoyed my experience here quite a lot. There are some beautiful overlooks, a nice quarry lake for cooling off (although who knows how clean the water is, if livestock use it), and an overall great away-from-it-all vibe. I read that they use this ranch for mountain biking and I believe it. The hills are nothing to mess around with. Hiking will require quite a bit of up and down. Also, the dust was baaaaaaad. Come prepared with a mask or bandana if you are at all sensitive to dust. Other than that, it seems like a beautiful spot for recreating in the TX Hill Country. read more

I have been coming here for a few years for a camping and mountain bike getaway. The landscape is rugged and beautiful and typical of ranches in this area. The staff are nice when you can find them and their facilities are decent considering the rustic, primitive facade it's boasting. A five star rating would require that the 10pm quiet hours were upheld by staff and patrons were held accountable for things such as trash and site cleanup. Both nights spent so was up late listening to awful awful language from campers across the lake till 3am. Loud obnoxious music from all angles and to top it off -- generators. 3am is not a dramatization either. There was a one-wheel festival taking place and it brought along some unsavory and rude mannered patrons. The site I chose was across the lake near the tower in order to avoid the crowds and not hit any "floaters" while biking. My site was littered with garbage and food scraps from whoever was there before I arrived. Otherwise. I had a great time. read more

This was my second time to the ranch for Utopiafest. I didn't bring my bike the first time, but was excited to hit the trails in 2021. We camped on the back side of the ranch by the Range Bridge and the 5 large jumps at the end of a great run starting at South Pole Gate. Race Loop takes you near a quarry of water that was nice to cool off in a quiet setting. This will be a place to warm up before heading over to Spider Mountain. read more

Had the best time. Stayed at the campsite, employees were quick to help. I walked up to the check in desk to ask a question and they would run to me to assist. Was there to run the 2 Spartan races and they made me feel at home. I have to go back again. read more

Reveille Peak Ranch - Fitness & Instruction Near Me - Burnet, Texas

Went to Reveille peak Ranch to spend the day with my son. it's certainly a pretty place but the day was absolutely ruined because they had a power washer running the entire afternoon. The sound over the lake was as if it were next door and spread throughout the property... So much for time spent visiting with my son. My guess is that this happens frequently as there are tools strewn about. Very disappointed because I thought we'd found a new hangout. I do not recommend this place. There are many, many more options out here in the Hill Country. Inconsiderate to say the least. read more

Reveille Peak Ranch is arguably some of the best mountain biking in Texas. Whereas most Central Texas trails cut through limestone, RPR trails are granite, which offers better traction. The 20ish miles of singletrack are rocky and very technical. You'll be doing lots of climbing and winding through boulders, and the view of Lake Buchanan from the top of the hills is spectacular. RPR also has a pump track modeled after the Whistler track, a one mile (insanely fun) flow track, and a super D course. I once made the mistake of going smack in the middle of summer, thinking that a two liter camelbak full of ice was enough to cool me down. Texas heat + crazy climbs = not a good idea. You can also swim, scuba dive, kayak, or stand up paddleboard in the quarry. It's awesome to jump in after a long, epic day on the trails. read more

We made the trip out to Burnett and we were blown away at how nice the facility and $10 to ride here but the trails are nothing like any other trail system in Texas. If you have never ridden on granite it is like riding on sandpaper. Amazing traction and a great change from the limestone that dominates the Hill Country trails. Hard to call it slickrock, but they are quite a few sections you'll encounter that have no cracks but a wide variety of undulations that require a quick eye to pick the right line. There are some distinct differences on the trails. When you hit the Upper Loop you will either love your chance to show off your technical skills, or you will learn where you are lacking. Walls, shelves, drops, squeezes are all waiting on you. The hardest part is to look far enough ahead to pick the best line. When you finally hit the Race Loop section you will get a chance to get out of your small ring and get some speed, but be ready for a sudden downshift and a granite bubble to attack. One girl we passed along the way described it best between gasping for air as "crazy fun', I fully agree. The facilities are easily the nicest I have ever seen at a place like this. Great chance to cool off afterwords and shower up. BYOB and bring your own soap as well. Have a few brews in the pavilion after the ride and look at the smiles of the riders and you too will be hooked. We'll be camping here to get in multiple rides. Nothing fancy there but people can hang at the pavilion at night and meet new friends. Check the website to be sure they are not having an adventure race or if open to the public. read more

Beautiful place! We had a great time here and cant wait to be back! The trails are fun and definitely challenging at some points. The trails were a blend of rocks and sand. But you can not beat the AMAZING views! The camp ground was very well maintained with men and women's bathrooms, which happen to be one of the cleanest and nicest bathrooms I've seen for a campground! I mean, they have flushing toilets, showers, QUAILTY toilet paper, sinks, hand soap, and paper towels! We had an amazing weekend biking, camping, grilling, swimming and paddle boarding. We didn't see as many campers as we thought we would, but did run into a few other who were very nice. We camped next to the lake and didn't have any issues with mosquitos or any other bugs, but beware, the ants are HUGE!!!! Since this is a ranch, there are cows roaming around and when there are cows, there are cow patties! So be mindful of that. They didn't seem to mind us riding past them. Also, be aware that there could be snakes as we saw a rattler. Only issue was we couldn't find a dump site so we took our trash back to town until we could find a dumpster. TIPS: -Bring a first aid kit just in case. -Bring EVERYTHING you plan on using, we rented a paddle board in Austin (See my review for ACK) -If you camp in a tent, bring METAL stakes, as the ground is really hard and covered with rocks. -Phone service for Tmo was non-existent, but Verizon had good reception. -Bring more than extra stuff to fix flats! read more

Aside from the fact that we chose the absolute worst weekend* to decide to mountain bike for the first time (well, for me anyway), this private park and facility is fantastic! It's beautiful, it's clean, it's far away but not too far away from Austin, it's exciting, it's challenging, it's easy, it's hot, it's cold?, it's dusty, it's wild..... have I run out of things? We happened to run into the owner amidst the mayhem of Spartan for him to tell us about the private entrance for bikers. He was super friendly, asked our names and apologized for the mess. There is a covered area with a bar that he says is normally a super chill hangout for bikers and runners, alike. I really cannot wait to go back on a "normal weekend." There are trails all over the place with varying levels of difficulty. Note that the map makes everything look much farther away from each other than they actually are... and it can be challenging making sure you are on the right path, but what's the worst that could happen? Get lost in the wilderness? What started out as a frustrating experience, left us leaving going, "I'm really glad he is hosting Spartan so he can make enough money to keep this place alive." Hopefully, I won't turn this review into the Rogue Trail 10K review. It's really beautiful and has a unique terrain. By unique, I mean difficult. Just be careful going through this terrain. We went this past weekend, and it was a blast. We spent Friday and Saturday night there. We got in LATE Friday night so it was a little confusing finding the camp site, but staff helped us out. I rode the Race Loop Saturday, and it was awesome. Lots of climbs and descents with some rocky technical stuff to keep me on my toes. I would say the route was marked pretty good with post with colors to match the route. I will definitely be going back!! read more

If you are looking for a great place to mountain bike, RPR is the place to be. See the other MTB reviews. They are spot on. However, if you are looking for a place to camp and hang out with your family then stay away. This is a known party spot for the 20-something crowd who likes to take over several camp spots, crank the music, get loud and drunk until dawn. There doesn't appear to be any security and/or management to provide any noise enforcement and the party folks don't give a crap that you and your kids can't get to sleep. read more

My son and I spent Father's day mountain biking at Reveille Peak Ranch. Fantastic mountain bike park with plenty of single track and double track trails for all ability levels. We loved the Flow Track with the jumps and berms. The facilities are great with clean showers and restrooms. There's even a small pool which is perfect for cooling off after a long hot ride. We met the owner who was very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back. Next time we will take advantage of the RV hookups and rent an RV to make a weekend out of it. read more

Just moved to Austin from the mountains of Colorado. Went here with a new found buddy and let me say it didn't disappoint. The trails are extremely fun with a good mix (techy, good climbs, and some decent "downhill" sections). My only two complaints are that the trails are not marked/signed very well which leaves u guessing sometimes as to which tracks you are on and where and they are only open on the weekends (as far as I've seen) I will be back! read more

The drive is worth it! Went out today to get away from the typical Austin rides and to my surprise these are the best trails around!! Completely what I wasn't expecting, the loops have breath taking views as well as can keep you on your toes, literally. Bring lots to drink and get ready for a seat grabbing good time!! All I can say about my experience here is awesome. A challenging trail system that makes your trip exciting and top notch facilities that makes it comfortable. Whether your an experience rider or just starting out, its worth coming out here for the thrills and the views. And by worth I mean $10 a day to ride which is a sweet deal and might as well bust out another Thomas Jefferson and stay the night. Visit the Quarry, climb to Decision point, or challenge yourself on the Race loop. You can't go wrong on any trail. Easy to make reservations online and great place to bring a group of friends. I enjoyed doing Technical Diving Instruction at the quarry site on this beautiful property. The staff is always helpful and facilities are first rate. You have 100 foot of water to work with and visibility rivals any lakes in Texas. It does require a scuba shop affiliation and signed release. A fun option between bike rides. read more
