For the main, we opted to share an order of Barisik Tabak, which was a combo of Ali kebab (lamb & beef kebab), Saslik (veal w/ onion rings), and Pilic sis (tender cubes of chicken). This was a great sampler plate to try multiple grilled items and we really enjoyed it. The meat was tender and juicy, not dry at all, and very flavorful. Most of my reviews on Yelp revolve around my search for the best Turkish Pizza or Lahmachun. This is no different as Doner Station Hoofddorp has one of the best around. They call it Pizza Deluxe. The bread/dough is perfectly crunchy yet a little chewy on the inside. This happens because they prepare the wrap properly. While the dough (pizza) is understandably pre-made, the order in which it is warmed up is crucial. Here they do it the right way. The fold the pizza in half and warm it on a panini iron first. While that is getting the perfect crunch on the outside, the inner part stays moist and flavorful giving it that satisfyingly soft chewy quality. The kalf (beef) on the spit is always fresh tasting and this is added next. Then finally the 'salad' or relishes such as lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion and cabbage is added. They have chicken too, I've just never tried it. I was told the name of the dry spice that is also added along with a garlic mayo and spicy red sauce but the name escapes me. Oh and the night I went it was about 8:45 and they close at 9. The supplies were low as it was the end of the day, and I'm sure they don't want extra stuff that will only wilt before the next business day. I asked for my usual order of a Pizza Deluxe and the guy was very friendly and even went back and cut up more relishes for us. Great service with a smile. Anyway, just go here. Get food.
