Yummmyyy. Get the kebab! You will not regret it. €3.50 euros? Yes please. Cash only though. I ordered the mixed kebob with all of the toppings. Each order is made to order. They cut the meats right in front of you and onto the pita. It is a small place so I ordered my kebob to go. I took my first bite and couldn't stop eating. The meats were tender and the pita was soft and airy. My only regret is that I couldn't come here again!

Now I know I really have no right comparing a doner kebap place in one country to a place in another, but: move over Mustafa's Gemüse Kebap of Berlin, I have a new fantasy doner kebab place right here in Amsterdam. What's amazing about this place? They make their OWN BREADS, in some cases ON DEMAND. This includes the doner bread, lahmacun bread, and the thin durum bread. Oh yeah, THEY MAKE wraps using lahmacun. This is like a burrito place saying, hey, I hear you want a burrito, let me smear ground meat all over the tortilla before making the burrito. Yeah. That's the stuff. (Normally, lahmacun will be served flat, with herbs and sauces on it, and you eat it with a fork and knife. Here it's the foil for your chicken or lamb meat and other typical durum fillings. The chicken (i never say this) is the best meat that they have. It is juicy, flavorful and tender. The place is extremely crowded from 12 to 2pm attracting all the right types who know where to find a high flavor, good value lunch: construction workers, teachers, students, etc. To me it's a mark of success. They deal with their crowd very well. If you are still hungry after that they have baklava. But I have not tried it due to using up all my space on lahmacun bliss. Please open a durum doner place in NYC~~

This review is for all you Turkish pizza first-timers. It was quite good! Only downside was I had to use a lot of white sauce and hot sauce on each bite as the meat lacked any kick of flavor. Would actually give them 3.5 as the other ingredients were fresh and the bread was quality. Expect a line but service is generally speedy. Restaurant is very small so eat here expecting to take out in case there isn't a free bar stool.

Ohmylord! I don't know what took me so long to make it here but I am so glad I finally finally did. This little doner shop is about 3 skips from my place but for years (and I can say that now after being here for 3), I avoided it. Well colour me silly and throw me another kebab! I just nailed their mixed doner in about 2 minutes and it was amazing! I had to do it take-away but even after I unwrapped this little bit of ambrosia, it was still hot, the bread was still crisp and the flavours absolutely perfect. Next time, and there'll be one ASAP, I'll eat in and add more sauce and just absorb the aromas insitu! Oh and if it's not enough to have a kebab, get a delicious crispy baklava for a mere 50 cents to satisfy your inner foodie monster! Banging meal for less than €3.50! Nice one Amsterdam!

Döner kebap is probably my favorite thing to eat and sadly the thing I eat the least because I am American and it's really not a thing in the states. I've been all over Germany and to be completely honest, this Döner can hold its own. The main reason being their bread. Ohhhh man that bread. They make it fresh in house and you can definitely taste the quality and love in the bake. The chicken on its own isn't very flavorful, and the lack of cucumber makes me shed a little tear, but other than that, this place is the bees knees. It's also fantastic that the sauce is on the table and you can sauce up to your heart's content. One thing to mention is the place is super tiny. Maybe 8 seats inside and 4 outside. It gets super claustrophobic, but I just keep my head down, focus on my food, and enjoy. If you like döner kebap, you'll enjoy this place. Oh it's also cheap af, which is nice.

Have eaten kebabs all over the world, this one is definately worth visiting. They bake their own bread and the meat seems authentic as well. Would definately recommend this one for all kebab lovers.

I used to go to this place almost everyday when I lived in this neighborhood in 08-09. It's possibly the best halal Broodjes in the city.

The flavorfully seasoned adana lamb kebob was accompanied by fresh veggies, bulger, and freshly baked flat bread. We shared the warm angel hair noodle dessert, which was baked with cheese, and was topped with vanilla ice cream and ground pistachios...amazing! Attentive, friendly service and an inviting, warm atmosphere with stylish decor and soft indirect lighting. The owner/manager is present and on top of all the details here! AAA!

Made a reservation for Sunday night; while it wasn't super busy, I'd recommend making one just in case since it looked like only a couple tables were open. We ordered the babaganoush, the roasted mushrooms, and red lentil soup to start. Highly highly recommend the babaganoush. Note, it is not the typical blended eggplant, but chunkier. This doesn't sound super appealing, but trust me, this makes it so much better. Each bite has more flavor and texture this way. The soup and mushrooms were both great, but weren't standouts compared to the babaganoush. For our mains, we went with the sea bass and lamb chops. You might be able to tell from the photos, but the sea bass isn't how you typically have it in the states, where you get a slab of some fish. Instead, it's the whole fish so it's much smaller and it has EVERYTHING. I've had fish like this before so whatever, but I know there are people out there who are squeamish about having the fish head still on there with bones and stuff, so be warned! Though it'd be such a pity to let that stop you from trying it because it was amaaaaaazing. Lemon and mint seeped in every bite. They even stuffed it in the middle so the flavor wasn't just limited to the surface. The lamb was also perfectly cooked and mouthwateringly delicious. I read before coming here that Dutch people look down on eating with your hands. And I honestly tried to be sensitive forwards that. But omg it would've been a crime not to pick these up and gnaw on them like a friggin hyena. So I did #noregrets. Also care with a bunch of tasty sides - nom noms!! Didn't have enough room for dessert. Though something to note: not sure if it was bc it was a Sunday, but service wasn't particularly fast and we only got our mains at 910 pm after getting there at 745 pm. We didn't mind, but if you're in a rush, be aware. This might even be a Dutch thing; we were one of the last to arrive in our room, but we're on of the first to leave since basically everyone who got there before us were still sitting around and chatting long after we left. So...who knows! Anyway, it was super tasty and very affordable. Highly recommend!

It was just a 15 minute walk from our hotel, Marriott Amsterdam. The restaurant was lovely with white tablecloths and great service. Food was delicious! Our favorite mezze was the octopus salad appetizer which was one of the many to choose from. Entrees were excellent: grilled sea bass x2, grilled sea bream x2, rack of lamb, and stuffed roasted whole eggplant. Both red and white wines were enjoyed too. We were too full for dessert so maybe next time we're in Amsterdam, we'll try it. Highly recommend Levant!

This restaurant is super cute and has a very nice second level that has tables indoor. On the lower level they have a patio which is right next to the canal and it has a beautiful set up. The service was amazing. Our waiters were very patient with questions, were caring and asked where we were from, and offered to take a family picture of us which we appreciated. From the start they bring a big platter of all the mezze available to your table and you get to pick which ones you want to have (prices are listed on the menu), they also bring a big basket of delicious Turkish bread which reminded me of a focaccia a little bit except a lot heartier and without the flavor of olive oil. We tried the hummus which was creamy and had a predominant flavor of cumin, the octopus which was very refreshing and flavorful, the tzatziki which was thick, refreshing and very creamy with a powerful garlic flavor, and the eggplant with tahini which was cooked to perfection, and just melted in your mouth. We shared a bottle of white wine which was really good and dry. For food we ordered: Sea bass fillet: two generously sized pieces of sea bass that were perfectly grilled and super flaky. They felt very healthy and fresh. Came with some salad on the side. Duck breast: super tender duck with a really nice flavor. The meat was soft, not chewy, and it felt pretty lean. Came with some rice pilaf that was also very well cooked and tasted really nicely. The combination of the duck, the fruit, the sauce and the rice was fantastic. Also generous portion. Sea bass with Turkish bouillabaisse: this dish was amazing!! The sea bass was flaky, and melted in your mouth. The sauce that it came with was also really flavorful and had some dill on top as well. Really enjoyed the other fruits de mer which came with the dish (shrimp, squid). Super decadent and filling! I used some of my leftover Turkish bread to soak up the sauce. Grilled chicken thigh: did not try it but my parents loved this dish! They said the chicken was very tender and that the sides were really good too (some greens, potatoes, and labneh). Overall really loved this place! I thought the service was splendid, the ambiance in the outside patio is unbeatable since you get your own private area along the canal, and the food was spectacular. 11/10 would recommend to anyone who is around the area and wants a place for a nice dinner!

It is located just one block south across the canal from the central train station We appeared to be the second table of their lunch window. The front door is on a busy street but the main dining room (and, I think, a small outdoor patio) fronts on a side street. We got a window table inside, which was good for people-watching during the meal. As this was our first meal after our flight, we were a bit jet-lagged, so my memories of lunch are slightly hazy. I think my wife and I each got a coffee (hers was a Turkish coffee) which were of the normal small European size. Three of us split 2 entrees, which was about the right portion size. One of these was very reminiscent of a kubideh kabob in terms of the form and taste. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I think we just got still water here, but they may have tap water (you usually had to ask specifically for that, we noticed later). Prices were reasonable. I think they had a bar area which may get more traffic during dinner hours. They also had a restroom for customers which, as would be the norm, was down a narrow flight of stairs in a cellar area. I'd willingly return here for a meal were I in Amsterdam again.
