I strongly recommend avoiding Custom Fence…read more It has been over a YEAR since they completed the work, and I am still trying to get them to come back and correct issues with their workmanship. At this point, there is no reasonable excuse for the lack of follow-through. Every time I manage to get someone to respond, the blame seems to get passed to a "scheduler." Then nothing happens. No firm appointment, no meaningful update, and often no response at all unless I repeatedly chase them down. Taking a customer's money is apparently the easy part. Standing behind the work afterward has been a completely different story. Mistakes can happen with any contractor. What separates a reputable company from a bad one is how they handle problems after the job is finished. Giving a company more than a year to correct its own work is more than reasonable, and I should not have to continually call, message, and follow up just to get basic warranty/service issues addressed. If you are considering Custom Fence, I would seriously think twice. My experience has been poor workmanship followed by worse customer service and essentially no accountability once the job was paid for. I am more than willing to update this review if Custom Fence finally takes responsibility, contacts me, and actually corrects the outstanding work. Until then, this review reflects exactly how they have handled the situation.

We looked at 10 contractors, received estimates from 2, and chose Y&S due to their fair pricing and the care they took to understand exactly what we wanted. Communication was prompt and thorough and the job was scheduled to the exact date. All prep and materials were ready on time and the job started as planned. We watched the careful attention to detail to ensure the fence was completed where and how we wanted it. The workers were skilled and friendly, and the Project Manager inspired confidence. The job was completed ahead of schedule and every detail was perfect! This all may sound too good to be true...but that's exactly the experience we had. We will absolutely use them again. Honestly, we've worked with several good contractors over the years and Y&S is definitely among the best.

Unfortunately I am writing only two stars due to a lack of follow-through which I believe every customer deserves. After providing the upfront 10% down I waited patiently for 3 weeks for "start work". The 10% check cleared in the first 14 days after mailing and felt this was a good sign. However during a good faith check-in call I was disappointed with the re-rack of schedule and numerous reasons/excuses for the inability to perform the work. The weather was no different than expected in the Green Bay area yet that came out as the primary apologetic reason/excuse for essentially a day for day delay. Perhaps if I had any movement or contact while patiently waiting for up to 6 weeks to start work, then I wouldn't be writing this review. I am sure this is not indicative of their 30+ years in business, but this didn't help me as another customer who didn't feel valued. Perhaps there are others, but certainly hope not.

From the initial walk through to the final touch ups, this company did an outstanding job. Let me give you a quick overview of how easy it was to work with these contractors. First, the initial sales person, Michael, was incredibly knowledgeable and able to see the vision we had for the first floor. He took a good number of photos and then met with other project managers at their office. From here, we met with an amazing designer, Halley. She answered every question I had and promised me she would guide me along the way. I had some ideas, and everything I forgot, she gently guided to a solution. I was able to pick everything from the exact sink and faucet, to backsplash and flooring. The amazing communication continued throughout the project using an app called buildertrend. We knew when the contractors were arriving for each step of the process. We were also able to ask questions through the app and received quick responses. I did have a couple of change orders, and even those were handled seamlessly. My project has been done now for about three months, and every day I love seeing the finished project.
