To the point that I can't even feel happy about living in the home, now that it is complete. Their subcontractor made recommendations counter to established design criterion and basically ruined my 4 acre yard. The resultant fix will mean I won't have a yard for my kids to play in for another year. A 1000-2000K estimate suddently turned into a $6700 bill... post closing. Without a word of explanation, they expected us to accept their overcharges. And they were unable to handle simple problem solving. God forbid you make any changes to materials during the building process- they couldn't adapt. At one point after their sub had spraypainted orange marks on the basement floor, which needed to be cleaned, they suggested WE come in and do the work ourselves. With a carcinogenic cleanser & no proper protective equipment. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Absolutely horrid communication. Outright lies. And utter incompetence. That is what we got from Rucon. Oh-- and a house that makes me sad every time I think about it. Please-- If you are even considering giving Rucon any of your hard earned money-- reconsider. This builder USED to be reputable. I've talked with home owners who were happy with the company when it was run by the parents. Now that the sons are at the helm... There are lots of good builders in the Valley. Rucon isn't one of them. ** edited 12/14. It has been one year since we moved in. There are still items from my move in checklist that they haven't fixed. Like the fact that they painted my front door the wrong color. And we found Andy and the Rucon team unwilling to honor their one year warranty. I guess I shouldn't be surprised given the lies we were told during the process. What is one more?

Brad, Andy and Lauren are very straight forward and easy to work with. During the process costs were up front and we never needed to inquire about extras... they simply tell you. They worked with us on a constantly developing vision and were receptive to changes right up through the week of closing. We would build again with them without question. An excellent group who has coordinated a great selection of sub contractors. We can't wait to build another house with Rucon as we couldn't have imagined a better process!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Rucon for helping us build our dream home. We will tell everybody that we know about your Amazing work! I am disappointed with YELP as Rucon has 4 other reviews that are not published that are excellent and they're only choosing to show the 1 negative one. That is unacceptable as they are a fantastic builder and should be praised for their work, not negatively graded just because of one review!!!!!!!!

I contracted with Granite Stoneworks & CabinetWorks to install countertops and backsplashes, and…read morethe results were unacceptable. The bottom edge of one backsplash was cut crooked, and the caulking was messy--uneven, poorly applied, and visually distracting. I've already removed and redone the caulk on the makeup counter. I contacted the company about the issue, and they did come out to inspect it. They acknowledged the problem and said they would follow up. That was over two months ago. Since then, I've reached out multiple times--by phone and email--and have received no response. No update, no repair, no accountability. For a project that should have added value and beauty to my home, I'm left with a flawed installation and zero customer service. I expected better craftsmanship and professionalism. At this point, I wouldn't recommend this company to others.

My basement flooded every spring and through summer. My house was built in 1946 and no sump pump…read morewas installed, and I live next to a large river so the water table is pretty high. I had water coming up through the floor and coming in from the walls. I had a few estimates to "waterproof" my basement. I knew that it was going to be expensive, so I wanted to make sure I found a company that actually cared about my situation and wasn't money driven. I called ABT and Dan came out within 48 hours to take a look at my basement and give me an estimate. Dan took his time, measured and took pictures of my basement. He gave me an estimate; again, I knew it would be expensive, but the cost was pretty competitive with the estimates I had already received. What pushed me to decide to use ABT was the fact that they actually cared about my situation. I opted for the whole package - sump pump and under floor bleeder lines and baseboard system. Once I gave them the go-ahead, they put me on the schedule quickly. It took 3 days to finish the work and each night, before the Jermellio and his crew left, they made sure to clean up. They were very respectful and explained to me what it was that they were doing each day. On the last day, they explained to me how everything works. All was great! About a week after the system was installed, I noticed that water was seeping through a crack in the floor. I called Dan and told him about it. No hassle, no fuss - they got someone out immediately to fix the problem - no extra charge. Great! About a month after the install, I noticed a lot more water coming up from one section of the basement floor. Once again, I called Dan and he had someone come out and assess the situation. After about 45 minutes of testing the system and taking measurements, it was discovered that the pitch was off on the bleeder system under the floor and the water was not draining properly. Again, no hassle, no fuss, they got someone out to my house - dug up the concrete, re-pitched the bleeder lines and tested it - works great, poured more concrete and it was finished - only took a couple of hours. Again, no charge. Bottom line, ABT cares about their customer satisfaction and will not stop until the customer is satisfied with the results. I will not hesitate to contact ABT again for other concrete needs. I ABT

The workers left behind a mess and failed to properly clean up after the job. Even more unacceptable, while working inside my home, the workers were screaming at each other and using profanity in front of my child. That kind of behavior is completely unprofessional and inappropriate in someone else's home. The communication from the company was also rude and unprofessional. A company working on someone's property should demonstrate basic professionalism, respect for the customer and their home and clear communication. Unfortunately, I did not receive that here.
