Made out first visit to ReUse Action a couple of weeks ago and was thoroughly impressed with the space, the staff, the selection, and the overall mission for the venture.
If you're a lover of old houses, old-house parts, or industrial-ish stuff, you'll have a great time perusing the diverse and well-organized selection here. The pricing seemed totally on par with the market for these items--so you won't find a lot of "steals," but plenty of unique items with a real history and a level of craftsmanship that would be hard to match if buying new. (And who can't appreciate the ecological upside of repurposing all these great treasures??)
The sales area is on the building's first floor (and back lot for lumber), but upstairs are a suite of studios/offices for artists and creative professionals. I didn't have a chance to check these out on our first visit, but I've since connected with a few artists who are building their businesses there (including a fellow who hand-makes kitchen knives--definitely on my Christmas list!) and am keeping an eye out for an open-studio event.
In short--a very cool place that I'm excited to see in Buffalo and eager to visit again! read more
