Dr. MacNeal and his staff, Allison, Misty, Bonnie, Jordyn, Allyson, and Brianna are awesome. I had an aggressive squamous skin cancer on my hand. I'm 70, so I'm no stranger to doctors. I can tell you it would be hard to find such a thoughtful, caring surgeon and staff all in one! They answered all of my concerns and are patience. Allison greets you at the front deck like your family, but she is professional. The rest of the staff as mentioned, treats you with respect and compassion. It is very stressful to have a prognosis of cancer, but a caring and concerned surgeon and staff can make all the difference, believe me. Thank you all for the care I continue to receive. If you do manage to get them on the phone, they are rude, confusing in their explanations, and quick to cancel your appointments and hang up on you. I have had payment for procedures denied by my insurance provider because the authorizations department submitted incorrect codes. The staff doesn't provide any reason for the denial or try to appeal the denial on your behalf. I find out about the incorrect codes as the reason for the denial by contacting my insurance provider. (Good luck with that!) In addition, I have had procedures that I scheduled a month or two in advance cancelled by the staff a week before my procedure because they waited until then to tell me my referral is expired or incorrect. That's not enough notice to do anything about it. Why not tell me when I make the appointment? Why not tell me even a week after I make the appointment? It is cruel to me to wait for them to get their act together when I am in pain and need some relief. I have had to self pay for procedures due to their incompetence. No one should have to deal with this level of stress and stupidity. Everyone claims they "aren't the one" who talked to me on the phone or submitted the wrong codes or didn't see the expired referral. This is their job but there is no accountability on their part.

The waiting area is clean and spacious. The check in process is quick and in many instances I was taken back to pre op prep before my scheduled time. The medical staff especially the nurses are top notch. Compared to other ASC's I have been to in the area, this is a well run operation that I have no hesitation recommending.

I've inquired and get told, "well, we are having problems." I still have not been scheduled. I use to see my oncologist every 3 weeks with just infusions otherwise. Heck, I haven't seen "my doctor" since last February. Evidently they changed his schedule. Now, I have seen 3 different doctors and have to see one each time. Which means, I go to 2 different floors, wait as long as 2 hours before seeing the PA, then wait 20-30 more minutes for the doctor. Then go to another floor for my infusion. Most times I end up being there 5-6 hours and scheduling is gone by the time I get done, therefore, I have to call (usually 2-3 calls) to leave messages to get the time for my next visit. It's crazy!! Today, I received a list of imaging places! No instructions at all so I guess I just start calling each one to find out if I am scheduled. Nuts !!!

After weeks of not getting GCMC on the phone I went to a Dr. that provided medicine that did work. When I did finally get GCMC on the phone, they were exceedingly obstinate. Any reputable, respected business would provide a refund but this is not a stand up kind of place. They put it all on display in response to formal complaint available for you to view at: https://www.bbb.org/ This service is not what it is purported to be. There are many other better, painless, more effective and better priced options in the area. They say those other guys (DOCTORS, UROLOGISTS) are really expensive and just ridiculously greedy when really they're knowingly telling you the truth is the opposite. They say they provide follow up support, they do not. They get your money and get you out the door. While there are many treatment options, GCMC skips to the most profitable option - at least they did in my case. Seems to be the standard there. They say they personally have the same insurance as you and they were reimbursed. Also a lie. GCMC lacks basic healthcare ethics and principles - fairness, transparency, best practices, taking advantage of people when they're vulnerable. The office manager / salesman wearing scrubs should not be providing medical advice. I never did see a DOCTOR there, just a Physician Assistant. Save your time, money and health and go to a reputable DOCTOR.. I missed so many big red flags here. Reported to the BBB and posting reviews everywhere possible so others do not get burned.
